Yeah, I gotta agree, those sunsets where sublime.
FYI with the drone, if you have a DJI Mini / Mini 2 you can legally fly within the 5.5km restriction around controlled airports. Just has to be under 250g. You just cant fly in the approach or departure paths.

Just one thing to add is that you must land if you see an airplane or helicopter in your vicinity. Just coming down to a reasonable hight should be good in most cases though.

Interesting video with the camels. I think it would be interesting to find out about how the places got their names. Cable beach? I was wondering if you have seen or heard of the "blue flash" , a phenomenon that happens at sunset. Ive seen it in California as the sun retreats down below the horizon you get a flash of blue light.

The red beach I've never seen...iron oxide in the soil. The color contrast from green to red to blue....crazy. Didn't see much in the way of surfing. Thanks for taking us along. Be well, stay safe.

Beautiful place, went school there, c/van was were resort is now I'm sure. Being kids was the life living cable beach, also use to be two reefs bit out front. Fishing surfing boogie boarding sand dune surfing.

I lived in the sand dunes behind cable beach in a late 1970's holden wagon. Used to climb those palm trees for fresh coconuts. This was back in the 1990's. Back then it was the head lice capital of Australia. Hope you don't get infested like we were!

Remember the waterfalls that you explained are year-round because the sandstone absorbed the water when it rained? The red beach is decomposed sandstone. The pitch of the beach is so shallow that the water is under the sand which gives way to your footsteps. You can even see it from the drone footage @ 01:58. The sand is darker from the water and becomes lighter in color as the elevation increases.
Hey Molly ☺️ great video footage absolutely love the contrast of the Red to green then blue over there ! Beautiful. My wife and I also have had our wonderful time on the water for two years on the barrier Reef and can say it was definitely the biggest thing we've ever done ! , Even when we had a company , marriage and children it's still the biggest and most challenging thing we have been through. It's a massive task staying alive in the elements. Maybe we will retire back there when we're done ✅ hehe yup 👍❤
Take us for a ride into the bush South of Darwin into the desert. After Barrow Isl, worked in the Great Sandy and Gibson desert for many years surveying for oil companies. I traveled the world as a Jungle survey for 25 years and I can tell you that Northwestern Australia have the best beaches in the world!
