Trying To Play The Traditional Swiss Alphorn | Quirky Customs

In the olden days, in the beautiful Swiss mountains, one way that people communicated was with an Alphorn! They spread news from one valley to the next..and shephards used it too. Today, it's an unusual musical instrument. And playing on it is a real challenge. Euromaxx reporter Meike Krüger--who is a real city girl, by the way - took on that challenge and went high into the Swiss Alps to try to learn this almost forgotten traditional instrument.

it takes a lot of practice. Playing a trumpet with keys takes a lot of practice when you start, you have to develop lip muscles and control. These look far more challenging than any trumpet with keys.
I bet these sound good in valleys where the echo can amplify the sound. Can you post anything like that?

I play both Trumpet and Alphorn. The Alphorn requires greater lip strength and breath support than the trumpet😁Both instruments take a lot of dedication to play well. The way to play either well is by playing every day.
