Samantha Bidgood so true I do blogilates and get a better workout than the $99 deal I am paying for a year...another workout that I also love and am not sorry I paid for but yes tons of freebies.
The biggest tip I have is always pay yourself and your family first. Meaning set up automatic payments to your retirement , kids college and rainy day emergency fund. After that if you have credit card or student loan debt get rid of that as soon as you can after you did dedicated long term savings. And just continue to save and invest in the broad stock Market. We have always been savers. Even before we had kids. Buy a modest house and pay it off before retirement!!!
RUclips is FULL of excellent FREE exercise videos and classes! HASfit are amazing for cardio workouts, Sarah Beth yoga etc etc are some of my favourites.
Awesome tips and habits!! Using cash has been super helpful for me because it's physically there. I'm not tempted to shop online, because it's in my wallet and not just in my checking account.
Hi Lara I've always lived by these rules actually and my kids are big now but has taught them to be frugal too . not that I have much to show for it but we are never ever in debt . We wud like to own a home but it's got to be impossible at our age 48 & 50 ..(both self employed , ) in Ireland now ! Anyways we are healthy and all ok xxx ❤️ much love Lara
Great video Lara and George is wonderful! Another tip which I indulge in is Yellow Sticker shopping. I was lucky enough to be in Tesco the other evening just as they put out a load of Yellow Sticker food. I only popped in there for one small item but walked out with £83.00 worth of food for £40.07. I always add up how much I would have spent if I had bought it at full price. Everything I bought went straight into the freezer when I got home.
Hey lovely, great tips for sure I’m learning new things 😂 you know what I hate false advertising making out it was £10 now £5 but in all honesty it was only £5 to start off with I hate the deceit 😡 😂 love Jo xoxo
I’m adamant that I’m going to clear my student loan this year! It’s due to be paid off July 2021 if I continue normal PAYE payments but I’m trying to overpay to try and clear it by the end of 2020!
Thanks for these tips! I was such a big spender but since I found your no spend video in Dec '19 I've been obsessed and have saved thousands in just 2 months which I would have totally spent on food and entertainment. Thank you 🌼🌼
Found your vids recently and I love them! Been on a journey finding a house with my boyfriend, first time buyers too. It's so difficult. It's hard t know which developer to go with plus it's so expensive x
Strongly advise against buying a new build if you have other options. Yes it might be easier/quicker to purchase but they're not build to a high quality so things tend to crack, break and go wrong sooner which will cost you a lot more to fix than if you buy a slightly older place, even if it's a newish build and you're the second or third owners as chances are everything's been fixed by previous owners. (I work for a property developer so this just honest - the amount of complaints we get regarding the lack of quality is insane).
Katie 3010 this is really interesting and useful thank you so much. We viewed some show homes recently and they seem so lovely but I completely understand where you're coming from x
Lara Joanna Jarvis that's why is love your videos because you're so real and honest and bloody relatable! We were looking at keep most and avant and Williamsons (midlands area) so a couple options there. I'm not too sure on the help to buy, as luckily we've been saving for years xx
I just found you and subscribed. I'm on my way to binge your other videos. Pirate George is too adorable! Tell him "hello from Texas, Pirate George" for me please!

Easy but great tips :) I mean easy when you think about it but harder to live by them 😁 I can check most of those advised boxes but I have a really big problem paying by cash not card because when I have a specific amount of money I have a need to spend it all and when I pay by card I have in my head all those little amounts that add up which I also check and write down weekly in ny excel budget planner so no surprises there 😁 what is the most challenging at the moment is that they opened Poundland few months ago in my city and I being UK food lover I need to try everything and go every week and spend money that I don't need to so this is hard one 😂 thank you for sharing!🌺
For things like Christmas and birthdays - sales and charity shops. I've noticed my local charity shops will often have 'like new' gift sets, candles, photo frames, books! Interestingly local chemists will have sales of old stock on things like creams, bubble baths and sometimes nice gift sets. I also stopped doing finance phones - people are paying 50+ a MONTH where companies can bump up the rate every year. I saved for a huawei that is even better than my Samsung and iPhone and now a £7 a month Tesco sim card works for me! Tesco contracts also NEVER bump up price in the length of your contract - this was on Martin Lewis Money Expert
I struggle buying smaller items. I agonize over buying a £3 ecover fabric softener, but never have issues over large ticket items because I will have spent ages researching it. 🙈
I am no longer doing to buy liquid fabric softener....I will still buy fabric sheets...I think only dry towels and linens....I hang everything else up after wash
0% credit cards can be a blessing if you need to make a large purchase. Obviously you need to keep up repayments, but if it's urgent and you can't save up, then this is a great option.
Hi Lara, I’m just coming up to my daughters birthday (she’s my first) and I want to get her a scooter. I’m struggling with whether to buy new or not! There are so many micro scooters on Facebook but I feel really bad buying second hand for birthday! How did you deal with this?
Hey lovely, how old is she going to be? I am so sure she wouldn't know that it wasn't new and you will save so much money. We will be getting the boys bikes for their birthdays from FB marketplace because they are 10 X the price new and they will not be any the wiser if they're not new (and my eldest will be 7!) Maybe use the saved money to buy a little additional gift for her? Xx
@@debbie5310 I totally get that, but she will love the scooter if it were new or pre loved, and she won't notice the difference. Maybe spend some of the money on an experience for her, a day somewhere making memories if you are still worried xx🥰
I'm not going to buy soap from Body and Bath...my favorite place to go in ...I am going to buy bar soap...there in a fabulous large natural bar of soap sold at Dollar Tree for $1.
Ok so I’m gonna disagree a little about fixing things. We had a prob with our washing machine. Only 7 years old. It’s apparently a piece of crap even though it had good reviews at the time. We replaced a part. $177. Now I’m super sorry bc it needs another part $300. We will just be starting over fresh now with a MAYTAG and hoping it goes better. And we might as well have flushed the $177 down the toilet.
@@paulinaowczarek5667 Crikey! Although those able to afford severla coffees per day without missing the money are fortunate enough to not have to worry about it 😉
Think my sums may have been wrong here as it was a fleeting comment but I worked it out at £270 for the year when I worked it out to be 2 per week that I don't buy any more. So yeah not a week, sorry. But I guess some people may get one on their way to work, one at lunch and one on the way home, so it is possible, just not as common I guess! Xx
Regarding excercise wouldn’t bother buying a DVD. Just go on RUclips, loads of great routines and it’s completely FREE.
Omg yes of course!! My hubby does the Joe wicks ones all the time too, should have mentioned that, thank you x

Welcome! It's such a positive, encouraging place so I'm looking forward to getting you to your goal!! 🙌🏻💗
Thank you for a very useful video. Also your skin looks absolutely gorgeous, so flawless and positively glowing x
Ah thanks so much! Nothing much different to my normal £3 make up 🤣🤣 but I'll take it 💁💁

Sorry but who on earth is spending £270 per month on coffee!?! 😂 That would be 3 x £3 coffees everyday
Me! ;) I bought twice per day for me and my boyfriend four time a week. I reduced coffee to one per week. :D
