Peri-menopause was terrible, but everything has gotten better since I am fully in menopause for over a year now. During peri-men, I had hormone swings and felt crazy; but now that I'm in menopause, I only have problems with hot flashes and insomnia. At first the hot flashes were bad with sweat soaking my clothes. Since giving up both coffee and alcohol they are not a problem. They happen, but are mild and I don't sweat much, I just remove a layer of clothes. I think I now need less sleep- and if I meditate, do yoga and breathing exercises instead of watching youtube, the insomnia doesn't seem to hurt me. Menopause has asked me to approach life differently, and since I can do that it hasn't been too bad for me.
I don't have health insurance and am not on any hormones, it's been a long time since I've seen a doctor for anything. I've lost my appetite, and after years of going up and down in weight, it's much easier to stay thin at fifty than in my twenties, thirties and early forties.

Good to know it gets better when menopause arrives. I drink coffee every day and was wondering how it effects my symptoms. I suspected it could exaggerate some things. So now I am going to try to stop drinking it. It is definitely a time to change many lifestyle habits.

I was just tired in menopause… post-menopause caused a whole host of issues. I got GSM (genitourinary syndrome of menopause), dry skin (when I’ve been super oily my whole life), could only sleep for three hours a night, anxiety and panic attacks for no reason, ugh, the list goes on. I broke down and went on HRT despite my mother having breast cancer. We are very fortunate to have options for helping us navigate successfully through this life stage. Eat much Brokkoli, coliflower, PacChoy, cabage, kale ect, Sojabeans 0,5 cooked beans, I take sojabeans in mixer and give some tasty herbal and eat with potatoes or vegetables.
Fennelseed crashed and make in capsel or eat a little bit and take together.
Milk products not very good because the have hormones inside , better your look for plamtbased Joghurt, Sojamilk al tasty different you must look which you like. The Fiver is very important, look whole grain

I have changed my diet, if you follow the principle of DailyDozen (you can include very low-fat animal products with a maximum of 3g fat per 100g in the plant-based diet); you can also eat 50-90g of cooked organic soya beans every 2 days, I always mix them into sauce, season them and put them over potatoes or vegetables. Also 1 teaspoon (2g) of freshly ground fennel seeds a day and 6g of freshly ground fenugreek, you can fill the spices into capsules yourself or simply eat them in mashed potatoes or another snack and swallow them.

I never had menopause symptoms. I am now 55 yo. I eat healthy and exercise and I couldn’t get rid of my belly pouch and love handles. At age 54 yo last year, I had tummy tuck and liposuction on my love handles and back in Miami. After that my body is washboard abs, snatched and looking like teenage body. I was glad I did it. My opinion, it’s better to do tummy tuck around middle 50s past menopause due to belly hormones if you have it.

Something I've really noticed since being in TBT is how much the American women in the group rely on doctors. I don't see doctors. I haven't for many years. Instead I see a naturopath. They are able to determine the root cause of disease, and prescribe natural supplements to rectify the issue. I'm in menopause. I had hot flushes for 6 months, and have been through the tiredness and crankiness, but mostly feel great since starting supplements. I would never use HRT and have not been on birth control since I was 30. Everyone is different, but I think it's important people consider the natural route with their health.

When I was about your age, I thought that me and my husband had plenty of time, but 8 years on, still not pregnat. I wish I new in my 30ys what I know now: fertily declines at an incredibly rapid rate after 33. After 44 they won't even want to use your own eggs for IVF because the quality of eggs is not good enough anymore, they would insist on egg donation! And frankly, doing IVF does not guaranty pregnancy. Getting pregnat after 40 now I personnaly would call it a miracle. So, please, try to find time and talk to your genycologist or fertility spesialist about your fertility and possibly freezing your eggs (especially if you are not sure about your marriage), because 38 years is a limit for doing it, after you turn 38, they will not do it.

Thank you so much for this video. I am 49 (september) also. 5 months ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I just finished my last chemo. Anyways, I learned that chemo has forced me into menopause. It has been a challenge on top of the chemo. first off, Id like to say all women should make sure they go for their mammograms and not put them off. I have no fanily history or had any symptoms... What has helped me the most in regards to menopause is my diet, supliments and moving around/exercise. Like you, i have had to change things up. I had been gaining weight from th steroids and hormones! Awful! Anyways, I appreciate your video and will subscribe. You look fantastic, btw.

I am 45 and I am really looking forward to hearing more about this. I lost an ovary due to a miscarriage in 2016. Then miraculously I got pregnant again and in 2018, my daughter was born and I had my tubes "tied." I wasn't too bad with my weight after giving birth, but I started to add the weight due to trying to manage all the things. 2020 came and there went the anxiety big time. I did your workouts again due to the special you had and then needed to stop due to expenses. I kept trying to workout, but time was not on my side, I was stressed as I was also homeschooling 2 of my kids and we were in the process of finding a house and moving. 2022 we moved and I received a job "promotion" - same job just different title and more work. My sleep has fallen to the wayside (I get about 4 hrs ave a night except on weekends when I can get about 8 - sometimes). I try to catch naps (3 hrs or so) when I can. I have no time to focus on better eating, but I think about it all the time. I hate cooking and I have to follow a recipe which takes time. I will say though that my meals are not completely bad, just not 100% the best (ex. meatloaf cooked on a broiler pan so the grease runs off with TONS of veggies in it and homemade applesauce on the side). I have been so depressed for the last few years. My cycle is all out of whack. I will usually have 1 week of flow and then a few days off and then about 4 more days of spotting. I assumed it was due to the tubes tied and everything. I do try to outsource. My husband cooks many times a week as well as helps with dishes. My kids have their chores which allows me to get other tasks done, but there is still so much - homeschooling 3 kids, working part time, and still managing the house, meal planning, and decluttering. Thank you for "listening" and sharing your experience.

I was starting to get migraines around or during the first day or two of my period, so i went to my gynecologist to see what was going on. Sure enough, he brushed it off as nonrelated to my hormones. I did my own research and felt like supplements would be a good place to start. Thankfully, I got some of my energy back, and those migraines were GONE. The ast year, though, I started gaining weight that I couldn't explain because I eat healthy and exercise regularly 3 to 5 times a week. Back to the research and found intermittent fasting was a game changer, along with being in tune with my cycle and being more forgiving to myself during the nurture phase before menstruation. Knowing that educating yourself is a good way to live your best life and having mentors in your life that have been through things are good tools to be able to thrive. My last period was December of 2017. I was only 47 years old!!!! Breast cancer runs on my Dad’s side of the family, so I cannot take any hormone replacements of any kind, but so far it hasn’t been too bad. I’ve had hypothyroidism for decades, so when that’s off, I’m tired and fatigued. That’s my norm 🤣 Hot flashes mostly when I’m sleeping, but not all the time. Weight gain, especially around the middle has been my nemesis, so I’ve had to increase my steps per day. (I have 5 children, and 12 Grandchildren) I also added strength training 4-5 days a week as well as Intermittent Fasting. It’s hard to grow old! My 2 sisters are pre-menopause and they are having it pretty tough. They should have menopause coverage! It affects so many women!

I will be 49 in May and I just started menopause in the last few weeks. I’m sure it is because I’ve been in perimenopause the last two years and missed my period sporadically. Now I haven’t had it since January and I’m very moody and having bad hot flashes. These symptoms just started a few weeks ago. I talked to my dr who is giving me meds to help because I cannot have HRT due to having strokes in the past. HRT makes those on HRT at a higher risk. It is rare for those who have never had a stroke and have healthy lived styles, but they won’t let me. Which I understand and appreciate. ❤

It's lack of testosterone, that gives us, fatigue, dizziness, lack of sex drive, painful joints and no muscles and insomnia . No one says, but women have more testosterone than estrogen and progesterone. Testosterone is the first to go away after we pass 35 years age. By the end of perimenopause there's almost no level of all hormones because our ovaries don't produce theme anymore. If the adrenals aren't working we'll due stress that's the end of our life's. Adrenals after menopause replace the ovarian for produce small quantities of hormones to keep us going until we died. So women take care of yourselfs we don't have the same jobs, family, health and financial freedom . There's no igual solution for everyone. This is just a fase in the life. But eating properly, stop drinking big amounts of alcohol, workout more to increase testosterone, reduce stress and surch for a good doctor to support in this part of life. Please surch for older women that lift weights building muscle, they look and feel better. Take time to relax. Good luck for all amazing Queens of this World we deserve better ❤👸👸🏻👸🏼👸🏽👸🏾👸🏿❤

Loved your video most of all because you show and represent a positive image of "the changes". Of course you look great, but more importantly you communicate genuine happiness, energy and love for life and people. I´m so tired of seeing menopause associated with pictures that don´t by any means represent what most people in premenopause or menopause in their 40:s and 50:s look or feel like. I´m in perimenopause and not having any issues (apart from maybe the sleep issues, intense fatigue, lack of motivation too often......), I have a very healthy lifestyle (plantbased, whole foods and using supplements, yoga, walk, meditation etc. but have never been a great sleeper so that´s a work in progress). I remember asking my gp and gyn years ago about possibly being in peri, and they like saying no no, life is just really stressful in your 40s. While I didn´t believe them I only had "natural" (supplements, herbs) remedies I trusted, because all I had ever heard about HRT was scary. Thankfully a minority of specialists in my country have been very vocal about HRT during the lasts years so I understood it was something I wanted. My reason for taking it is mainly preventive and I hope I´ll never have any contraindication for taking it. While I find it essential, I think that all the other lifestyle measures are even more essential but that one ideally need all.

I hate it. I was not ready for this at all especially going through a divorce at the same time. When I first started skipping periods it seemed my skin all over got saggy seemingly overnight. This in spite of lifting weights 3 times per week and having a decent diet and maintaining at 128 lbs. I always looked a decade or more younger without botox or fillers but once this hit I felt I started to age rapidly and I started getting botox, radio frequency, and Sculptra just to try to slow down the rapid aging now that I have to go back into the dating market😢. My under eye hollows have gotten so bad that I think I need filler now even though I swore I would never do filler! I’m am still getting periods albeit sporadically and now I’m getting the fatigue and sadness too. I am doing testing with a naturopath so I can begin HRT asap! My estrogen still came back on the higher side but my other hormones are shot. Also my adrenals are burnt out from the stress of divorce. You look so gorgeous and healthy it’s hard to believe you are on the other side of it already! I used to look good too until recently (the last 6 months). I also had a baby in my 40’s and felt that kept me youthful. I hope I can start to feel and look better once I begin HRT. I am not ready to be old.

Hi Tracy! I just bumped into your channel a couple of weeks ago and loving your content. I also just turned 50 years old a couple of weeks ago- my only symptoms of peri/menopause that I’ve experienced thus far has been an irregular cycle in the last year. Maybe a bit more tiredness creeping into my afternoons, but otherwise still pretty energetic. No hot flashes, mood changes, etc. I’m conflicted with the whole HRT thing, not because of safety concerns- but more to do with the fact that knowing menopause is a normal part of a woman’s life span, why would peri and peri menopausal symptoms be considered “not normal” and why suppress the natural fluctuations and ultimate changes of our hormones. I hear you say that your gynecologist told you that “you are normal, nothing is wrong.” But isn’t that in fact the truth? Going through this transition along with all the symptoms IS normal. So why intervene against nature’s course? I am anticipating more symptoms coming soon and want to let my super intelligent body do its thing without intervention--but HRT is still in the back of my mind.
Thank you for all you do in this space of health and wellness 🙏💕

It may be a normal part of life but for some it can really effect functioning, physical state and mental state, so much so that it can effect a person's personal life, relationships and even if we are functional at work, especially if dealing with physical pain, joint pain and terribly heavy irregular bleeding. It can effect joint health and bone strength. In the old days we didn't live as long so this was a sign of things coming to an end, winding down, after reproductive years are over. Now we live double those years or more, the age we used to live. We need to make sure we are functioning optimally, if need be get extra help so we can continue working. My energy levels are so bad and joint pains at that time of month now, nothing is really helping, nausea for over a week, twice a week . If I can afford to replace some of the hormones being lost that can alleviate this, I will. On top of that I know it can help guard against heart issues, osteoporosis, brittle bones, unwanted weight gain, change in fat distribution, possible urinary issues/incontinence and generally make you more functional, sleeping better. My mum didn't take anything and it definitely affected her, she has issues with brittle bones at 83 as well as other recurring urinary issues/infections . Not eveyone will experience it the same way but everyone will experience a decline in some way. I guess it's personal as to how bad it is and how it effects our life as to how we chose to treat it or not treat it. I would have been more prepared if I had known more about perimenopause earlier and what signs to look for before it started. I'm searching for someone to see about it now. I've already tried herbs, vitamins, healthy lifestyle, healthy food, didn't help enough, especially with keeping up with being active consistently with all the effects it has had on me.

Your 3 pm fatigue is from low thyroid, may not low amount of thyroid hormones per se, but could be a resistance to thyroid due to the increase in cortisol we all face in mid life, even on HRT. And, you will continue to change, what works now wont work in your 60s, I know I've been on HRT 14 years already. Good luck, don't work out with HIIT its not good to stress your body in Menopause. walk or bike. some strength training. easy does it.

The first 3 years of menopause were so debilitating due to interrupted sleep as a result of hot flushes etc, that I seriously thought it would kill me. I was exhausted and so physically uncomfortable that I didn't know myself anymore. I'm 9 years into it... hot flushes now only about 10 times a day. Wish I'd taken hormones. Thanks for the video.

I appreciate for sharing all this. You are such an inspiration. I am 47 and in perimenopause right now. I knew about the hot flashes and night sweating but nothing else. I feel more tired than usual, my memory has gotten worse, I am always moody, I have gained weight etc. Good to know this is all due to starting menopause. I do hope it does not last too long 🥵

I started perimenopause in my 30’s, went thru Menopause in my 40’s and Post now almost 55. I still have issues. Hot flashing like crazy and sleep issues. It is not fun. 2 years ago I had horrible panic attacks and thought I was dying.

I’d love to know your HRT regimen and how it has evolved? I’m staring early due to POI and it’s been a struggle to navigate.

Thanks for another great video Tracy! I only just found your channel last week and your content has been a huge help to me! I’m 47 and feel like I’ve been in Peri forever now - the last 10 years at least, and I just want my periods to finally stop. With breaks of 4 - 5 months at a time then only to begin again, it’s driving me crazy. I’ve not ventured into the world of HRT yet as I suffer with chronic migraines but I wonder if it will help me at this stage? Keep up the amazing job of giving all of us ladies hope and hints and tips at this new stage of life! ❤x

My doctor wouldn’t give me hrt because I have migraines with aura. She is a menopause/hormonal specialist. She was worried about the increased risk of strokes. She did help me with sleep and hot flashes. I really wanted hrt because I wanted help with my weight gain, so I have decided to start with the protein and HITT workouts. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I am in perimenopause. Two things that are very noticeable for me are hot flashes and emotions. I am usually a caring and empathized person. However during perimenopause I am very emotional. My heart hurts when I hear a child or a college student gone missing. I would cry when the kid found dead. I take it hard as if the kid was my own.
