- Hello!
In this video I explore Potomac Yard Station, the newest addition to the DC Metro and ride all 10(!) of its elevators.
I left in some rambling in this video on purpose so you can sort of see my thought process while going around the station complex. Hopefully, it also feels as if you're coming with me instead of just watching a scripted product.

Will be max 20,000 seat arena. Target is 50% non-auto mode share for events. Chase center in SF which has worse transit connection has 57% non-auto mode share.
Nice video! Re bus info signs in the metro station, Paris metro has such signs near exits. Very helpful if you have a choice of 2 or more bus lines, with different stop locations.
Fun fact, the stones they use on the station is called Hokie Stone, which is used everywhere on the main Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg. I'll probably use this station daily once I start going here to do my master's in CS (hopefully)
If I recall correctly, there was supposed to be a proper, full south entrance/exit from the station, but it was cut from the project due to cost. I think the existing station was still built in such a way to allow a future full exit to be added.
Well that’s good at least :)
You Are Doing A Great Job. Enjoying Your Videos Very Much. Thanks So Much.
Nathan! Keep up the good work! You have really really grown over your first vid thru to now. You are a good YT railman!!! Your vids are thorough, fun and you give us insights that are useful.
Thank you! I’m glad that I have gotten better!
It seems the stadium bill is dead, so they'll stay in Chinatown/Downtown DC - which imo is great! But here's hoping Chinatown finally gets revitalized and the Metro gets some much needed improvement/modernization. Imagine if they combine Chinatown and Metro Center - it would be the ultimate metro station with so many exits and so many connections. It would be a true metro 'center'
I think since the station has such a large mezzanine and pathways crowd control after games could be accomplished simply by opening and closing the gate line and shutting off the escalators, possibly roping off the walkways between opening the gate line.
For the elevator, you could have pressed the button for it to go down a floor and then exited the elevator before it actually went down. Then the other elevator would have come up and you would have been able to ride it down.
YES!! I had a friend tell me this and I felt so stupid lol.
5:37 I 100% agree with this! Making the bathrooms gender inclusive is so much better.
I like everything about this, your latest video.
Amazing vlog
Keep it up.
For Growing and Reaching More People...... D M
What's the name of the metro station that passes over l-95 in Virginia??
Can you do tram of brussels again please?
I’m going to Brussels again this summer so maybe!
@@nathantransitj ok!
@@nathantransitj You should visit Bucharest, Romania and cover the Bucharest Metro if you have the chance.
VT - Virginia Tech
WOW 10???
I KNOW RIGHT!!!!!
Idk I think my income taxes could be used for something more beneficial than a $2 billion stadium… maybe it could be used to fund metro??
There are no new taxes, the new development will actually provide key revenue for the city and state that would not otherwise exist
@@jasonschwartz8507 i understand there won’t be any new taxes, I just feel the existing tax base could be better spent as part of a collaborative fund with DC and Maryland to permanently fund metro
