This game looks phenomenal from a stylistic perspective, especially the MetroNexus gives me Spirited Away/Monstergarden vibes that hit so well, something that's rich, vibrant and lived in but twisted and just not quite right somehow. I would read the shit out of this guy's worldbuilding project. The combat itself seems like it's an excuse to not call the game a walking simulator so do I hope it ramps up in future (though what you said of the creator's reputation that might not happen).
Im 100% with you on the worldbuilding. I ended up playing out the rest of the demo after this and it continued to have issues (Especially with the double boss fight at the end) but the world itself feels rich and alien in all the ways you could possibly want. There's a meat zone, some bug areas, random bits and bobs that just feel..right? Hard to say.
