    I think my skill route for the goats/warriors will be : block first, then random mutation and then adapt depending on the mutation
    It's chaos : you have to embrace it !

    I love turning one of my Chosen Blockers into a TE. I give him block then third arm then sure hands or frenzy (helps him go in deep)

    What are you talking about with "going for" or "chosing"?? The gods decide how your team-mates are formed to their liking! Their choices of mutations may seem random to us, but they have a purpose to the gods that give them! (Even if it is just to say he doesn't particularly like the player...)

    Now that getting dedicated Beastman blitzers is not as big as it used to be due to the changes to MB/Claw/PO, I would highly suggest building a surfer Beastman with frenzy/juggs and eventually stand firm, block/wrestke, tackle. MB/Claw, and something for mobility too.
    Controlling sidelines like this is really helpful, and the guaranteed removals through surfs are more noticeable now since Chaos lost the standard killstack removal of old. It also makes a very good ball sacker even without strip ball + wrestle, due to the extra block dice from frenzy, and the higher likelihood of getting a follow up block after pushing the opponent 2 spaces rather than one.

    • @BoneheadPodcast
      @BoneheadPodcast  4 года назад

      Actually that's a great point Noamto! Surf builds like this could help Chaos retain the removal edge they used to have! Superb!

    Hey mate, I love your content. If I can make a suggestion, it would be brilliant if you made a video talking about the newly modified skills that affect BB2020 when comparing it to previous BB versions. This way, veterans like myself can catch up quickly to what's in the book.

    One thing I particularly like with the Chaos Chosen is the access to a valuable ST4 ball carrier. It may be expensive in SPP, but a Chaos Blocker with Blodge, the new Defensive skill (which nullifies the opposing Guard) and one or two supports would be tough to deal with.

    I’d say this now, as soon as this video got uploaded, whether I’m at work or not I had to watch this video as soon as I knew it was uploaded 😂 running a chaos team at the minute on BB2 (sadly having to sack them off soon due to league administration). Like the idea of having a team that has many different threats and an answer for many problems, it was always they had a good selection of primary skill trees anyway, just need that one or two secondary skills (stat point if it comes along) that defines what they’re gonna be when they develop, like the idea of a now called chosen blocker as a trapper combination
    with our favourite the mino as the cruise missile it’s good to see what can be done with the other big guys!

    Stand firm is a nice choice I didn't see mentioned for chosen blockers. Makes them better cage corners and hold a line better as well. Pushes are the result most rolled on block dice after all and they just ignore that then. Block stand firm dodge, kind of like an amazon Blitzer only Str 4

    You seem to have missed "Two Heads" is going to be better than Break Tackle since it is always a +1 to Dodge rather than once per turn. The Ogre can also work similar to the Troll with Tentacles but has the advantage you can occasionally move him without needing assistance. The Troll is cheaper though and Vomit may be good value to deal with Blodge players.
    The one area I think your video is missing though is the actual talk of the redraft mechanic. If you are in a league that is no redrafting then fine you can build up a dozen players with lots of skills. Once you get to having to re-buy your team every 10-15 games it starts to become very difficult to to keep more than a few players with skills. You will have to cycle 1-2 Blockers each season and will have a single Killer and Quarterback Goat, maybe one more player. Everyone else will be a Rookie.

    • @BoneheadPodcast
      @BoneheadPodcast  4 года назад +3

      Two Heads is a superb pick-up here! Straight +1 dodge is far better!! Great pick up Lyracian, thank you!
      Redrafting is a very contentious element, and I think a lot of leagues will do it differently, and it massively depends on the length of your seasons!
      Bloodtithe and I are going to do a breakdown of the redrafting rules and the impacts in episode 57 of the podcast - because it's such a big element!
      But you are totally right - if you're playing with the constant ceiling of redrafting, team building has to be more nuanced!

    • @barcster2003
      @barcster2003 4 года назад +1

      @@BoneheadPodcast Yeah since they get mutation access Two heads is just better. Why worry about it once a turn when you can have it all the time.
      In fact you can two heads + dodge on a beast man and just happily run around like an elf.
      Beastmen can also get monstrous mouth + extra arms and catch like elves too.
      Hmm maybe you just random roll a mutation and then build around it.

    • @lyracian
      @lyracian 4 года назад

      @@BoneheadPodcast That is unfortunately true. How leagues implement (or do not) Season will have a big impact on what can be developed for a team. There is also random skills which become more relevant when you are redrafting to a tight budget and most players are not going to get more than a single MVP for there whole (single season) career. I think it should be clearer in the video as you may confuse new players who could think they can get all those skills using the redraft rules in the book.

    • @Joth4851
      @Joth4851 4 года назад +1

      I've got to say that after playing a few seasons in 2016 with redrafting that I really, really like the mechanic. It needed some tweakings from the original 2016 implementation. We decided to stop giving price money because it made the winners win more, but a redraft limit like in 2020 achieves that more elegantly, I think.
      The good thing about redrafting is that it lets the losing teams rebuild; no more teams starting a new season under strenght and having to save up to get a full lineup. And the winners will have to choose who to keep! It means that teams will begin to have their own Star Players! I think it solves a lot of the issues that BB always have had with long leagues and does it by adding character to the teams. What is YOUR team's veteran players like?

  • @deckerCKY
    @deckerCKY 4 года назад +1

    Random general skills for beastmen should definitely be considered (at least a few) to keep tv down .
    After you have 2 warriors with block, I think it's worth taking mighty blow first skill on the next two.
    Chaos troll is the way to go for big guys, claw first to skill faster or guard, second skill in either case is block.
    I really wish beastmen had dropped to 55k - would have been a big but fair boost to a roster that needed it.

  • @MangoFandangoBB

    My approach to the Beastmen: Early level up gets Block. I will then save SPP until I can roll a stat up.
    Agi4 Block Goat = Ball Carrier
    Str4 Block Goat = Ball Carrier
    MV7 Block Goat = Ball Carrier
    Failing any of these: Dodge = Ball Carrier
    The rest of the goats get MB/Tackle/Claw/Guard, etc
    Once there's a healthy smattering of Block, the next 2 rookies get Wrestle with the Tackle/Strip Ball. I once had an agi4 wrestle/dodge/tackle/leap/very long legs - the ball was never safe against him haha.
    I'm boring with the CW though: Block then Guard then MB. After that, it depends on the league's meta: Claw/Tackle/Stand Firm/Grab.
