In this clip, Tommy Davidson opened up about how "In Living Color" led to the NFL changing the Super Bowl Halftime show to a star-studded event. After Vlad pointed out that the halftime performers in years past were Elvis impersonators and late comedian George Burns, he added that "In Living Color" creator Keenen Ivory Wayans came up with the idea to air the sketch show during the halftime performance in 1992. The show featured a timer so that viewers could go back to watching the Super Bowl, which led to millions of viewers leaving the Super Bowl to watch "In Living Color." The following year, Michael Jackson was chosen to perform at the halftime show. To hear more, including Tommy giving credit to Keenen for being an innovator, hit the above clip.

I was driving through Cleveland, Ohio years ago listening to a Cleveland radio station. Tommy Davidson was in town and was a guest on the air at the radio station just talking and bantering back and forth with the morning crew. It was the greatest stuff I've ever heard live on air. No script, just amazingly funny.

It was Gloria Estefan and two Olympians figure skaters who were the halftime performers at the 1992 Super Bowl and 17 million viewers changed the channel to Fox from CBS during the show and I didn't know any of that until I googled it 👌
Her career and those two went downhill fast or she still making hit records for Emilio’s hit machine. It also affected Jon Secada.
