You wind your yarn the other way round your hook than I usually do. Is that on purpose?

Hi, for this tutorial it doesn't matter what way you wind the yarn around, I just personally do it like that because that's the way I've been taught to do it!

It was probably because you didn't make an increase in each stitch. In this second row you have to make 1 increase (two stitches in each base stitch), that is, if you started with 10 stitches, you will finish the row with 20 stitches. Just make the stitch twice in the same place. Try to count the stitches and it will work!!

If you want it even curlier, you can make 2 increases per stitch (3 stitches in each base stitch), that is, if you started with 10 stitches you will end with 30 and so on. It's very simple and is the basis for many crochet recipes 🥰
