Sitting here watching GWT and waiting for the phone call that my dealer is on their way with my new 1025R... doesn’t get much better. Good review Courtney!
Probally no holes in kubota rims because they were worried someone was gonna add duals to the rear! Fantastic job on the video, well thought out and put together.
The best tractor is the one you can use. I was being ocd with reviews, then went with a local dealer. Super happy. I've learned with other things nobody makes the perfect widget.
After a couple years looking at all the different brands and options and configurations we bought a brand new tractor this year. The thing that killed the deal on the JD tractor for me was the price difference between our local dealers and availability. Our JD dealers seem to set their own prices adding to the MSRP as much as 3k dollars on new equipment. Two dealers within 30 miles of each other having a 3 thousand dollar difference in price for the same tractor configured the same way. Both were way over the JD website MSRP price and at that time a two month wait for them to get one in. Most of the Kubota dealers did not have any in inventory either but I did manage to find a local dealer that had two in crates waiting on assembly. Needless to say 10 days later I have a brand new Kubota in the shed. The price was very close to the Kubota website MSRP also. So for an overall savings of 4 thousand dollars over the JD I will get used to the teeter toddler foot control. Side note: my small JD mower has the same foot control as the Kubota.
Geeat Video. I bought the Kubota B2650 with a factory cab and front end loader back in 2015. I'll be honest, the primary reason why I bought was the fact that it had a cab with heat and air conditioning. We have some brutal winters as well as some scorching heat in the summer months. An extra benefit that I didn't expect, but definitely appreciate, is that there's been days where the mosquitos and other insects were really bad. Being inside the cab was really nice. My primary complaint with the tractor is that the wheel rims do not allow for wheel weights. The factory cab makes the tractor very top heavy and I've had too many close calls with the tractor almost tipping.
Great video sir. I have a LX2610 with MSL loader, 3rd function, and rear remotes. I absolutely love it! And you’re right, I’m in medium range most of the time
I've owned an Kubota LX3310 now for about 3 months and have almost 40 hours work time on the engine. I did get the 60" mmm deck and yes it's pretty heavy at around 300 lbs. I remove it anytime when using rear implements or the front loader. But I have to say it takes me only about 5 minutes to remove it, and maybe 10 minutes to reattach. Two of the support wheels on the deck rotate 90 degres to help it slide out from under the tractor frame. But what helps tremendously is using the loader/bucket to raise the front wheels slightly off the pavement, turn them to the left side and that creates more space to maneuver the 60"mmm deck. The whole thing attaches to the tractor in just 4 places including the PTO shaft.
I love the drive over mid mower deck of my John Deere, it's so easy to remove and attach. I also got the Load-and-go brackets so I can remove my loader bucket and pickup the mower deck to move around and store out of the way or hold up the deck while I clean it or maintain the blade. JD, hands down has the best mower deck system, not even close.
As a new B2601 owner . . . it is not stripped down but loaded! The difference is it has a smaller frame. I LOVE the three-range transmission because in my situation, I use Low a lot. I don't like the stiffness of reverse in my treadle pedal. But that varies a lot by model and I haven't heard it's an issue in the LX models and not necessarily in the BX.
When I was researching I was putting alot of weight into the draft link adjustments. After the fact idk why I was thinking about that so much. With the quick hitch on there I don't think I'll ever have a need to adjust them. Food for thought. They are all so similar you can't go wrong no matter your decision. I do agree with the 2 range, I have a 38r and like you said I always flip better the two. My dad's 4310 has a 3 range and it lives in the mid range.
Nice review. I always felt like you kind of leaned Green. This review clarifies you truly look at those options etc and base your preferences on best value and not color or brand loyalty. Appreciate your upfront approach. Jason
I forget sometimes that my L3130 has a 3 range transmission lol. I used to using my little mahindra max24 and it has a 2 range. Both of them have a clutch and the ability to use independent L&R brakes and thr rocker hydro pedal. If and when I get a next one I'll spring for a cab tractor.
I am a Kubota guy, and I know you are a John Deere guy, but i agree with you on the Treadal pedal. I hate those things. I have a Kubota L3901 with a gear driven transmission and do love it.
If a Mid Mount Mower deck is part of your consideration, I love my John Deere deck because it's so easy to remove and attach. I also got the Load-and-go brackets so I can remove my loader bucket and pick-up the mower deck to move it around to store out of the way or hold the deck up while I clean it or maintain the blades. JD, hands down has the best mower deck system, not even close.
Thanks for the video and the unbiased review. I always thought you bleed green. I been struggling to make a decision between the 2032R and the LX2610 for a while. I've been stuck between wanting the Kubota Cab with Heat and AC and disliking the treadle pedal. (I have one on my current tractor). If JD had a factory cab this would be easy. That said, I like the finished look of the factory cab. I think I'm going to suck it up and deal with the Kubota treadle pedal to stay warm in New England while blowing snow. I'm pretty sure the AC in the summer wont be awful either.
Your videos are great, and lots of good info. I've got a B2650 and I wanted to test side hill stability after filling the tires. I wanted to know it limits before finding out the hard way. So with me and my brother, I parked it on a steep ditch with one side slightly below center. It took a surprising amount of lift on the high side just to get it tipsy. I'm still going to get wheel extensions though. I don't care for the pedal either..
A self levelling loader is nice. My tractor is fitted with one though I did not ask for it. It’s great to load up the bucket and lift it with the bucket staying level.
Very good review Courtney! Purchased my Kubota B2650 cab several years ago after being stung by bees while mowing. This tractor has served us well. Recently replaced the rear mower with a mid-mount mower. I wish that I would of done this in the beginning. I feel these tractors are geared more towards landscaping but do a very good job in areas a large tractor or subcompact would struggle with. I would like to add a hydraulic top link. Any suggestions on a company that makes a good quality setup that functions well and looks factory? Also does the wheel spacers change the turning radius?
Just wanted to add. I have a B2650. Love the A/C in the cab. I also like the treadle pedal. Works great for me. The down side is the pump is so load. Not much use for the radio
Good comparison. I went with the Kubota lx2610su because I needed (wanted) the bigger loader/backhoe that came with the LX series with no intentions to mow. I agree that the Kubota drive over MMM is a joke.
My main reason for going orange was the fact that the 2032R was a full 6000 more expensive. Simple thing is JD didn't have anything in the config I needed.
Kubota B series was made with landscaping in mind and chose to use cast aluminum for the transmission case to lighten it up. Still plenty strong but leaves a bit less impact damage when working in yards etc.
@@GoodWorksTractors l think Neil from Messicks had mentioned it sometime ago but maybe it was someone else. I should say I don’t know if Kubota themselves “market” the B series that way.
Enjoyed the comparison. When I was looking for a compact tractor, I looked at JD, Kubota, Massey Ferguson, Kioti, Mahindra, TYM, etc. There were several factors that led me away from JD, I wanted a 40HP tractor with 3 ranges, and quite frankly I think JD is overpriced. Kubota was a very close 2nd, but like many, I didn't like the foot pedal design at all. Kioti, Mahindra, TYM I always fell back to issues they have had with getting parts and support. I went with a Massey Ferguson 1740M, so far I'm very impressed, and no tier 4 emission with Regen. Had it for 2 years with no problems at all. It just seems to me, if Kubota would just listen to the customers, change that awkward pedal design. I know, some folks say you get use to it, to each his own. Thanks for the comparison.
LX2610/LX3310 do not come standard with single point hydraulic connection, it’s an option along with the swift tach loader and the load leveling system is another option on the new LA535 loader. Also there is a larger tire option on LX2610 and LX3310 that is 15-19.5 in the rear, the larger tires are supposed to be standard on the LX2610SU variant (which is cheaper than Lx2610 but lacks a few creature comforts).
Hmm, Swift Tach and Single Point were quoted to me as standard, not an option. Interesting to know!! I guess make sure you folks pay close attention to your quotes and ask the question if it doesn't plainly call it out either way. Thanks for watching and the helpful insight!
@@GoodWorksTractors Yes I just ordered a LX2610 and the one I’m getting doesn’t have the swift tach or single point connection. One nice thing is folks can go to Kubota website and use the “build your own tractor” feature to go through the large amount of options (accessories, add ons, tire packages) and see what fits with each specific variant (cab vs open station). They have a lot to keep track of so that is the only way to try to keep all the small details straight. One other question, having driven both does one of these two types of tractors have more hydrostatic “whine” going up an incline? I had a B2601 previously that had a lot of hydrostatic whine but not sure what John Deere 2032R is like there.
Yep. This comparison of his is totally off. The LX models are way bigger than those BX. The new tires are way bigger and better. The whole unit is bigger.
Lots of good information in this video about the differences between these tractors. However, I believe this series would be to large for the property(s) I would use them on.
19:03 I was looking at either the Lx2610 or the JD 2032R. My previous tractor was a Kubota, so I was prone to that and thought for sure I would go with another Kubota, but there is a reason that the John Deere weighs so much more... All its steel is thicker. The axle on the Lx2610 is very thin and I was worried I'd bend it. The John Deere is beefy cast metal (Al?) with almost no exposed axle. Same with the loaders, the John Deere looked much thicker and had 3/8ths inch hydraulics and thicker cylinders. The Kubota hydraulics were much thinner, steel was thinner, etc. I ended up going with the Deere just because it felt so much stronger and more durable. Also, the Kubota transmission lurches every single time you get it moving and the Deere is smooth, but that is another topic ;)
A quick question, if you have time... which of the subcompact tractors that come into your shop have the easiest repair capability (which is the easier to repair) and which has proven to be the most reliable?
I set out to buy a Deere, but ended up with an LX2610 (ROPS) for many of the reasons you list. The other huge factor you didn't touch on was price. For a new tractor, the Kubota LX2610 with loader/bucket was over $7000 (list price) less than the Deere 2032R before any incentives. Not only that, it was $600 less than the 2025R. (Manufacturer web pricing, Oct 28, 2020)
I would love to have a cab tractor. Eventually I might buy one. It will be a question of size when I do. LX or Grand L. Currently have a standard L and it does what I need. Love the videos, informative and great marketing for you.
Lx2610. The standard hydraulic disconnects are not the one lever one like you said. Standard is the same as the JD. That is an available upgrade, also the kubota is available with a drive over mmm deck for more. Another ‘interesting’ thing to consider if researching for a purchase is the su model, which is a cheaper non premium model without a mid pto.
Yeah, I addressed that earlier. My quote listed them as standard. Kubota's drive over deck is a joke. Every dealer I've ever talked to has suggested not getting it. No idea why they can't bring that system up to the same level as everything else. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the video. My size JD was the 20 series but with no factory cab I was forced to shop the 30 series until I discovered the Kubota LX 3310. Sorry JD but I will probably be buying a new Kubota!
Does the Deere have telescoping ends on the lift arms? IMO that is as big a deal as getting rid of the turn buckles. Great video, enjoyed seeing a kid doing something outdoors.
Great video. Very informative. I think though if i was to get another tractor i will go to the john deere 3 series then i get another tractor with a cab plus ac. Anyway have a great day and be safe guys. Tim
Just a quick comment on the over all weight of the tractors, from personal experience........in the case of Kubota, even my larger M5-111 w/cab and 1000 lb wheel weights....it's still light in the rear end when lifting heavy objects with the loader. It's the same with my Kubota 2501. In these circumstances, if the tractor were not 4 wheel drive, you won't be able to maneuver. Does the John Deere have this problem as well or does the extra weight compensate? I'm reasonably sure I'm not the only guy pushing the limits on these tractors.........just curious about the Deere performance in similar situations. Thanks.
Good question. I think the position of the weight matters a lot. I'm not positive exactly where in the machine all of the extra weight is located, but I'd at least venture a guess that it helps lower the Center of Gravity. This will help with that side to side tippy feeling. Additional weight also helps with traction and maximizing the power to the ground. John Deere is pretty good about ballast recommendations in their manuals compared to some others that I've seen. I believe for the 2032r/2038r, they still recommend well over 1,000 lbs minimum ballast weight. Rear ballast is always recommended (in my opinion) regardless of the machine.
@@GoodWorksTractors Thanks for the reply....I agree! Always need rear ballast and keep that load close to the ground when maneuvering. Most of my issues occur when using pallet forks or the hay spear, both activities move the weight much father forward...... hope this info helps.
I've discovered from thousands of customer interactions that many of these dealers are terrible at upselling. Most wish they knew about more options, accessories, and attachments for their machines.
The Tredal pedal sucks. PEROID!!! That's one of the biggest reason I stayed away from orange. The pedals on the Deere works far better for me. BUT, I still got questions for the JD engineers. One question would be "What were you drinking when you decided where to put the battery on (fill in the blank)" .
Ok so the cabs add bout 500 to the tractor and are over the rear axle mostly, wouldn't that help with rear ballast? Or is it more split on the machine?
Just my 2 cents as I’ve owned both orange and green, for me it came down to the engine and trans. The yanmar engine is far superior in bottom end power and torque over the kubota in the small hp range. The yanmar is more fuel efficient, longer between service intervals, quieter, and again that bottom end grunt when your bush hogging or pulling is night and day. The Deeres are just quieter and the fit and finish is over all better. Lastly but supper important..there is nothing that will drive you crazy faster than listening to the kubota hydro trans whine after a long day in the seat. It almost makes you feel like your ripping it apart and it is loud
I can give you an estimated order of price ranging from lowest to highest...Call it used, 100 hours, open station, loader, mower. Year doesn't matter. B2650, B3350, 2032r, LX2610, LX3310, 2038r. A couple of these positions are interchangeable as they are very close to one another.
I noticed that last year you ran double wheels for stability. Now that your sponsored you took them off and are using spacers. You should do a comparison between the two and your thoughts. Just an idea.
If I were in the market for a new tractor this size would be what I would consider. The fact that JD 2 series doesn’t offer a cab rules it out for me, what a miss for Deere
You should put wheel spacers on the Kubota with the MMM and see if you can adjust the deck to make it work.. Then make a video about it.. Not a lot of clear information about that.. Some say it works, others say it doesn't
So the Deere weighs more but the Kubota can handle a bigger backhoe with.kore.reach and lift more with the loader. Doesn't seem to make sense. Only way I'ld get an open station is if I had a cab tractor already. Got a Kubota l3940 and would.like a smaller or 1.series tractor for smaller projects but not anytime soon.
DEF DPF is a waist. It’s more expensive, burns more fuel, it adds another cost factor in fueling it. I will speak out against the EPA! It’s another way to money grab. A true cost effective engine will only implement true combustion efficiency and technology. Not post combustible processing. It requires you to burn more fuel to regenerate for a set period of time. Trucks and tractors it’s a true waist of money.
I just can’t see purchasing a Kubota with the forward and reverse pedals. I drove one and totally disliked it and that’s why I purchased a John Deere 3033R.
Good comparison. Just my opinion but a backhoe is a very expensive, overrated piece of equipment that would spend most of it's life under a tarp in the barn.
I have one on my LX2610 and hardly ever take it off other than when I use my box scraper. I love my backhoe and it beats the hell out of digging trenches with a pick and shovel.

After a couple years looking at all the different brands and options and configurations we bought a brand new tractor this year.
The thing that killed the deal on the JD tractor for me was the price difference between our local dealers and availability.

150 degree swing arc on the deere, vs the 180 degree swing arc on the kubota backhoes is also a really important metric

Very interesting comparison good facts to know
I set out to buy a Deere, but ended up with an LX2610 (ROPS) for many of the reasons you list.
Good stuff, thanks for watching!
Another great video and I agree with your conclusion.
Great comparison. Does the Kubota cab have a HEPA filter or any filter to keep pollen and dust out of the cab when the air conditioner is running??
Hey bud, you need new tires on this 330G!!! hahaha just kidding, great video again!
Tomorrow!
Does the Deere have telescoping ends on the lift arms? IMO that is as big a deal as getting rid of the turn buckles. Great video, enjoyed seeing a kid doing something outdoors.
No, they don't have the telescoping ends either.
Great video. Very informative. I think though if i was to get another tractor i will go to the john deere 3 series then i get another tractor with a cab plus ac. Anyway have a great day and be safe guys. Tim
I have a Mahindra 3016. 28 hp diesel I love it it was 6 months old when I bought it . What do you think about Mahindra shuttle shift
On the JD if you order it will the MSL loader the lift capacity is over 1300lbs.
Like your honest opinion 👌 Could you mow side by side to see which mower deck is the best That is what you use it for
Great review!
Just like automobiles, the dealers don't make much money on the tractors. They make their money on the add on options and attachments.
I snagged like #114. I would have been here sooner but I just sold my homing pigeon on Ebay for the 57th time . . . keeps me busy :)
Haha, boy lots of returns!
@@GoodWorksTractors More returns that a Kubota B3350 :)
Good presentation but I would have like to here the cost of both units b2650 no cab Deere no cab
I prefer a split hydrostatic peddle but the tractor I currently have has a treadle petal
Hi I have 1025r with 120r loader, if I upgrade to 2038r with 220r loader will my forks and snow pusher fit?
Yes, it sure will.
Thanks!
The Mechanical Self Leveling Loader (optional) on the John Deere has a significantly increased lift capacity.
Nice video!
Is it better to purchase a tractor with financing at the dealer, or get financing through the manufacturer website before going to the dealer?
I might have missed it, what are the pro hp’s?
Are both models 4wheel drive or not
You should put wheel spacers on the Kubota with the MMM and see if you can adjust the deck to make it work..
Then make a video about it.. Not a lot of clear information about that..
Some say it works, others say it doesn't
The B2650 without the bagger has spacers on front and back. I haven't measured, but believe they're 2".
You should have told us where the loader capacity were measured for both tractors. If at the pin or where ever.
We shot it, maybe it didn't make the video. At the pin.
@@GoodWorksTractors ... do you know if the weight capacity listed (at the pin) includes the bucket or sans bucket.
@@rgd2598 sans bucket
you can get cabs for the JD in Europe
my low range on the JD2038 is plenty fast and has plenty of power. no need for 3rd gear.
That Kubota foot pedal is a deal breaker.
It's a tough one, but general feedback over the years is that you get used to it. Some prefer that. However, I guess that's like most things in life 😂
Ya I thought the same thing but when I went from my Deere to my bx25 and now my b2650 I like the front to back pedal better
I just can’t see purchasing a Kubota with the forward and reverse pedals. I drove one and totally disliked it and that’s why I purchased a John Deere 3033R.
👍
Good comparison. Just my opinion but a backhoe is a very expensive, overrated piece of equipment that would spend most of it's life under a tarp in the barn.
I have one on my LX2610 and hardly ever take it off other than when I use my box scraper. I love my backhoe and it beats the hell out of digging trenches with a pick and shovel.
D4 weight
Orange all day!!! I can’t imagine myself riding on green no way!!!
Absolutely hate the treadle pedal. It’s garbage. I will never buy a tractor with one. Super uncomfortable.
Treadle pedal was the biggest factor for not buying Kubota, akward!
Why buy John deer just get a Yanmar
Like for the weed pulling
