I had exactly the same problem. Thanks to share your experience. I saw another guy cutting the part you pushed manually to eliminate the move up and by doing this the roof does not move up but it does not stuck because of that. BMW solution is to replace the complete sunroof, more than 3500€ 😡
Mine happened today on the bmw x5 e53. Didn’t bother playing with the panoramic roof button as it’ll keep on returning back. Whenever this happens, There’s clearly an issue with the mechanism guides or perhaps just needs servicing more often. Anyways I removed the torx screws which hold the sunroof in place..cleared any dirt and lubricated the guides. Literally takes 30 minutes all in. There are also panoramic roof repair kits worth looking into! Great video btw

I took the big glass out.. 6 screws and then noticed the same thing was jammed.. if you follow rail to left you will see the rods that control it buckle. Simply force it with screw driver whilst using switch to move the thing and it will sort it then replace glass close shade and remove the fuse so u don't open it again.
With my BMW X5 the sunroof only open the first half when I put it in vent mode do you know any fix? cos with yours and my friends they open both halves

@@focusbvi I understand. I'm disconnecting the power cable to the motor and never using it again. The system is complicated, old, and made out of plastic. I learned my lesson.

Did cleaning and lubricating everything fix the issue of the rear glass sticking in the tilt position?

I got a large screw driver and pulled from back seat at that part u showed ,, it just needed help

@@faustasbemsiukas4458 yes it is mine the main big window kept sticking on one side and then the vent mode got stuck.
