  • Our first trip of the year to an actual campsite was to Parsons Green in Tipperary. We are no strangers to Parsons Green having spent 3 nights there in 2018 with my sister and her children and we had a ball. This trip we arrived on Saturday 23rd of April to great weather and a warm welcome from the owner. We paid €33 for a Motorhome, 2 adults, 1 child, 1 dog and EHU per night and €10 deposit for the gate fob which was returned on our exit.
Parsons Green is a brilliant family camp ground offering hard and soft stand pitches, camping field for tents and mobile home rental. There is plenty to keep children entertained here and Ruby explored every inch. In one sentence Parsons Green could be described as “Parsons Green Caravan & Camping, Historic Farm Museum, Pet Farm and River Walk, Fairy forest, Inside and Outdoor Play Zones and a Onsite Chipper and Delli”.
Facilities wise there is an out door pot wash area, ladies and gents showers and toilets, laundry room and baby change, campers kitchen, bin and recycle area, fresh and grey water and chemical disposable, EHU. The indoor play area has air hockey tables, pool tables and car machines most were €1 to play. Horse drawn carriage ride to the gate and back, boat loop ride in stream adjacent to the river we didn’t see the price of these as we didn’t avail.
The camp grounds are broken up into separate areas and each area is surrounded in mature well kept hedging and gravel pathways.
    Our opinion?
Parsons Green is the ideal spot for families as there is lots to keep children entertained. The facilities were clean but completely dated and could do with a revamp. The lunch we had from the deli area was delicious, coffee and toasted sandwich but unfortunately didn’t have any gluten free options at all for Ruby. As we forgot to bring pots and pans in the motorhome we ordered salad burgers and chips that evening from the onsite chipper but it was not good at all and the chips were inedible and again no gluten free options. Ruby really enjoyed walking around the loop walk to view all the animals in their separate housing and field. The museum area was very interesting and unusual and we loved it. Parsons green is a fantastic place and got a big thumbs up from Ruby.
