- This is my attempt to bring together all the sections recorded during the 1966-67 Smile sessions that either contain a variation of the Heroes & Villains melodic theme, were labelled as Heroes & Villains on the session tapes, appeared in a mix of Heroes & Villains made by Brian at the time, or were slated to be a part of the Heroes & Villains Suite by recollections/writings of people involved. Whatever, there are three parts each with its own fade ending, collected together here as one long piece. Would've made a terrific side of vinyl. None of the crow-barring of demo vocals onto proper backing tracks often heard elsewhere has been done here, so you can expect no cringeworthy edits, just pure excellence from Brian, the musicians, and the Beach Boys. Enjoy.
Thanks, I was just looking for a video with all the sections for this wonderful song ^^
It's nice to have all the Heroes and Villains recordings in one, but it really feels very unconnected, it should segue nicely from segment to segment (And start with Gee)
In your opinion, fair enough! I did my best with what there is.
I ❤❤❤❤! The Genius of Brian Wilson!!!!!
これ通しで聴くのファンでもキツイね、ちょっと(笑)
This is not just for fans, this is for degenerates (like myself)
Thank you for your work. Great channel.
Thanks man!
Thank you.
This is one of my favourite Heroes and Villains edits!
Although, I've seen a lot of Heroes and Villains edits that added 'Fire' (14:06), but I've never seen any evidence that it was supposed to be part of Heroes and Villains. Am I missing something?
It's all Heroes & Villains really😉
Seriously though, the intro (first piece of music here, the fire engine stuff) is always tagged onto Fire as it's intro, but in the tapes it was always known as Heroes & Villain (intro) so for me, it drags Fire into the H&V story. Musically Fire is not a million miles away from the heavier parts of Wind Chimes which use the H&V main theme, it's just been obscured, burned if you like in Fire. There's nowhere that Brian says it was part of H&V, but then who knows what it was all about, not sure Brian ever did. You could argue that Cabin Essence is part of H&V etc...it's all Americana.
@@TheHeathenSquirrel Thanks! That was a great explanation!
@@raydarable there's an earlier version of "Fire" intro "Heroes and Villians early Intro" - Bag of Tricks - Organ/Waltz. The tape operator says how it's the intro to part 3 so it's unlikely it was intended as the album opener or the intro to H&V. Personally, I don't hear Fire Engine as an appropriate intro to H&V. The longest cut of H&V is 7 minutes according to Demonic Piore.
@@sethrogaine Very interesting. I really wonder how H&V could've turned out.
@@raydarable Beach Boys- Heroes and Villains & I'm In Great Shape ('At Three Score and Five') better mix imo
Very nice, thank you.
And I'm back
Thanks for this. Good job.
