These episodes were filmed during the summer of 1994, I was there 2 days in a row as the tickets were free! The show on TV runs around 60 mins but in reality you are there all day, as it takes them around an hour in between each event to set up the next one. At the time I was a huge fan of Gladiators and like most boys of a certain age I was also obsessed with Jet, however, the first day she wasn't there for that episode and I was absolutely gutted. Come the following day I did not want to go, but I'm glad I did as she was there in all her gorgeous glory. A bit of useless info for you.
From a US fan, thanks for the insight on how it went for filming. Also had a crush on Jet when I first saw this back in the day, and I still have a crush on her.
This apppears to be the first "International Gladiators" Semi Final and I remember the contenders vividly. The second day "Eunice Huthart" was competing and so logically that was the second Semi Final, although I was so overwhelmed by "Jet's" presence I could not swear by it!
Phil's weakness was always the travellator if he had one, but that was a great performance by both of them, probably the best two contestants in their prime of all time.
When the International specials aired in the US, it started with this episode. The OG American Gladiators aired every Saturday night at 10PM. I was all set to watch one night but I saw the intro with Stonehenge and I thought, “oh great, they cancelled it”. Then I saw the gladiators. I loved watching this. Really wished the American show had event music like the UK show.
American Gladiators was syndicated, and it aired mostly on Saturdays though times varied from afternoon to late night. But on those International episodes here (and near the end of AG’s run, they even ran one episode from the Australian version), Mike Adamle did all the commentary solo and they had a different set of graphics.
Here are the International Gladiators. Female: Flash, Ice, Jet, Lightning, Nightshade and Sky Male: Dynamite, Hunter, Nitro, Sabre, Spartak,Terminator and Wolf
For whatever reason, O'Shea doesn't have this episode, so I'll just give the Eliminator Raw Times Here. Kim Tyler - 1 minute 19.32 seconds Pirjo Laitila - 1 minute 46.96 seconds Phil Norman - 1 minute 12.41 seconds Wesley "Two Scoops" Berry - 49.77 seconds
If I'm not mistaken, the only AMERICAN Gladiator who did NOT participate in the International Specials was Turbo, I don't recall seeing him in any of these shows when it aired on ESPN ten years ago
Neither did Laser, Zap, or Siren. At least of the ones that were presently employed as such. Siren I could understand since it was likely difficult to accommodate given the set, Zap was getting ready to leave the show, Laser and Turbo was a little surprising, but probably some obligations at home, what with Laser being a father and Turbo being close to his family as well.
Thank you for uploading this. Now I can get to see it. For some strange unknown reason Challenge which are currently showing this (at the time of typing) have totally skipped this episode. They went from the final heat to the second semi-final. Little fact for everyone. Wesley "Two Scoops" Berry is currently serving 10 - 20 years in San Quentin State Prison for robbing banks. Oh and Pirjo is one seriously beautiful young lady.
Two Scoops is the luckiest contender ever. Got away with a close one on Mark Muse and used the rules to his advantage against Sean Goodwin in the US, and then this.
Really felt for Phil, couldn’t afford any mistakes against Two Scoops, should’ve won it. As for Dynamite? Blimey I thought Shadow was intimidating on Duel!
2nd series they take out Finland but invite Australia, Germany and South Africa, with two gladiators representing each visiting nation (other than Australia who bring in four female and three male gladiators), enough to ensure no contender ever faces a gladiator from their own country!
In my opinion mattyl10, Pirjo fell twice during the Duel, and none of her blows made contact at all with Nightshade because her grip on the Pugil-Stick was all wrong, that's probably what swung the decision against her in this case. So I do think it was the right decision in this case when judging it from a critic's viewpoint and not as a fan.

Omg that one must be 2scoops mind, how he wouldn’t have won if homie never tripped. Feels like it’s the 90’s again. What a great show
Here are the International Gladiators.
Female: Flash, Ice, Jet, Lightning, Nightshade and Sky
Male: Dynamite, Hunter, Nitro, Sabre, Spartak,Terminator and Wolf
45:00 Brilliant show.
Верните шоу 90 на экраны.Обожаю до сих пор эту программу Гладиаторов
I just realised there was no female gladiator from Russia in this series.
32:00 What an incredible woman.
Absolutely! One of the best moments in the series.
@ 2:57 the International Gladiators version of bad boys inc
As much as li liked Wesley Berry, I actually thought Phil Norman was going to win against Wesley in the eliminator
For whatever reason, O'Shea doesn't have this episode, so I'll just give the Eliminator Raw Times Here.
Kim Tyler - 1 minute 19.32 seconds
Pirjo Laitila - 1 minute 46.96 seconds
Phil Norman - 1 minute 12.41 seconds
Wesley "Two Scoops" Berry - 49.77 seconds

Just in case anyone skipped the start Kim is afraid of heights!

Wesley actually didn't break Phil's record here, Mark Skipper already did that in the 1994 UK series quater final.
9:45 Is Sky that tall or Jet that short? Then again Sky’s 6’3” and Jet’s 5’6”.

6:49 Fash thought he was a real manly man with those rock hard forearms, didn't he?????

You do what you gotta do to win
Phil gave the entire Arena to Wesley Two Scoops.
Really felt for Phil, couldn’t afford any mistakes against Two Scoops, should’ve won it. As for Dynamite? Blimey I thought Shadow was intimidating on Duel!
Lightning on the left tower of swingshot for the 1st time since season 1. Normally she's on the right tower. Not her best performance.
2nd series they take out Finland but invite Australia, Germany and South Africa, with two gladiators representing each visiting nation (other than Australia who bring in four female and three male gladiators), enough to ensure no contender ever faces a gladiator from their own country!
Pirjo was robbed in the Duel - I counted at least a few attack shots should have got the 5 points. Phil blowing it was a shock to say the least!
In my opinion mattyl10, Pirjo fell twice during the Duel, and none of her blows made contact at all with Nightshade because her grip on the Pugil-Stick was all wrong, that's probably what swung the decision against her in this case. David Fearis: I was never a fan of Nightshade
Pirjo did not put up any fight against Nightshade, so she deserved to be DQ'ed and get no points
@@davidfearis7335in duel you DO have to attack if you're too defensive for the half minute you'll definitely get disqualified like Pirjo did
@@davidfearis7335John Anderson made the right decision with Pirjo. Nightshade told the truth
