I was so happy to be in this choir. It was such amazing experience! I will never forget how the men's choir came and listened and at least half of them were in tears.
I remember our first rehearsal with the oboe and flute players and the men's choir was on break so they listened in and we all got so into it half of us were crying after it. Best moment that entire convention!
When I was in choir I performed that piece several times and had been in 3 different sections for it. I’m not religious but that was always one of my favorites, and a favorite of the others as well. The way you felt the music in your core was incredible to experience
I normally don't like women's choruses that much...but this...this is absolute perfection. Been listening to this on repeat for days. Well done, Texas ladies. :D
this was my favorite piece to sing for auditions (sadly i didn't make it) but now i'm writing a refective essay over psalms 23 for college and i'm using my experience from learning this song and all the emotion i had to put in it for my essay
the chamber group with 7th and 8th graders sang this last year. they did it so perfect. no mistakes what so ever. I wasn't in chamber last year but I am in chamber and I'm so looking forward to the song my conductor picks for us this year
This is without a doubt the most memorial piece of mine from high school. I moved to Oklahoma before this final performance happened but I absolutely loved practicing this every day in choir leading up to the auditions. Goosebumps and tears every time!
Right after the TMEA Mixed Choir performed, I had to go run to my hotel room, change out of my choir uniform, and run back to the same performance hall just in time to hear the mid-ending of this song performed by this same choir through a crack right outside a door! I felt like I was on Mission Impossible 11! xD It felt epic, running and dodging through crowds of people on the riverwalk trying to make it to this recorded performance of this song!
@Overkillius Lol that certainly is not true. xD But whenever we do rehearse, it is rather very intense and magical. If you are searching for a definite answer of how much/long we rehearse each day, I would say we rehearsed for about 4-5 hours in the morning and 7-8 hours in the afternoon/evening each day.
I love this song so much! I remember singing it in my Varsity Choir freshmen year. It was very emotional and it gave me goosebumps every time we sang it! :)
I remember preforming this song and making me feel so much. My heart chakra is full hearing this again I’m 2022.
such a headbanger. best song to ever be written. 10000/10.
Still bangs 5 years later
i miss singing with this choir so much...this was everyone's favorite song and i'm so proud that we did it justice

The man who wrote this song invited my choir to sing at Chicago next year :)
Oh my gosh! I wish I could have heard that in person. That is just perfection!
I remember when a high school womens choral sang this at the PAC. The last " Lauda" seemed to echo and go on forever.
I'm excited to preform this song at our fall concert! 4 rehearsals left!!!

Oh GOD!!!!! That oboe needed to TUNE before this recording!!!
i love it
@sexyking19 I will post some of those up later on this week :)
I have to make my ACDA recording for this song tomorrow and I still don't have the breathing down🙃
What is that big building?
@chinatwin15 I heard that the mixed choir had 25 hour rehearsals each day. O_O
@Overkillius Lol that certainly is not true. xD But whenever we do rehearse, it is rather very intense and magical. If you are searching for a definite answer of how much/long we rehearse each day, I would say we rehearsed for about 4-5 hours in the morning and 7-8 hours in the afternoon/evening each day.
your right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
And to think I was one round away from being in this recording. Ugh!
Sopranooos >.o
The oboist is flat and needs to work on tone development. Long tones and pointing the air down will help
That oboe in the beginning is INSANELY out of tune😭
@Tommiewashere I know its amazing
@sexyking19 ill try I have to have some free time though :)
omg the first phrase from the clarinet was absolutely terrible :(((( but you beautiful texas women made up for it completely :)
UGH! INTONATION OBOE! The ladies are doing a fantastic job, and its extremely jarring when someone is just blatantly out of tune like that.
That damn oboe......smh
I love this song so much! I remember singing it in my Varsity Choir freshmen year. It was very emotional and it gave me goosebumps every time we sang it! :)
SO TRUE
Me to (:
