- Yes....that's lots of snow in the background, while I'm playing the organ.....it is 10 degrees, minus 2 wind chill, and the Sun is shining here at Reed Ranch.....in hopes of Summer coming soon, I am playing 5 sambas for warmth and comfort, in the style of Lenny Dee, at his Hammond X-66. Humor me, folks, sitting here at my Hammond Organ, with thoughts of Summer, palm trees, and sambas. :0) Life is Good!

In your Living Room, it’s a time warp of 20th century elegance at its best. You could be playing at anyone of the many clubs in the USA or over seas or on the I’ll de France, or on the old Queen Elizabeth, or QE2. There was a Night Club at the top of the Sir Francis Drake in San Francisco. It was a Jazz and fine dining Club .

Thank you for continuing to post these video’s of your Dad. I just love watching and listening to them. It brings back wonderful memories of my Mom. She had all those famous organists albums, like Lenny Dee, Earl Grant and Walter Wunderly. She would play them all the time when I was just a little kid. She lives that music and I still do to this day!!

I took organ lessons at the Hammond organ studio on Pearl road in Parma hts back in the 60's and 70's. My teacher was a union musician by the name of Norm Vopat. He also played accordion and had a polka I believe. My parents ha a Hammond A series organ. I got a FARFISA portable organ to play on the road with local bands. Oh what fun times I had with those bands. I'm 5 years younger than you and loved hearing those oldies !! Makes me think I should start playing again lol !!
I did concerts for George Lukas in Parma Heights on the 60's, and I loved that store, before I moved to Florida. Great studio, and thanks!

My organ teacher, Howard Sheets, used to tour with a Hammond X-66 that was mounted on a motorized platform. At the beginning of his show, his organ would roll out on stage while he was playing. He also had a cassette player in it so he could play to taped accompaniments. i love you choice of songs and your playing style.

O i love bossa nova/ samba styles. I love playing them on the organ and keyboard. Seems to be the standard pieces for organ players with the tremolo effects on.

Larry! You're still kicking and playing.....glad to hear it. That was 1961, and I sold the old B-3 in 1989, after I finished at the Red Cavalier in St. Petersburg, Fla. and moved back to Ohio to teach Music in schools. I am 70 now, and still teaching part-time in a school here in North Olmsted, Ohio. AND as you can see, I have recorded 386 Hammond Organ videos on RUclips so that folks can see what we used to do.....and actually using the pedals the way they were designed. Love this old Grandee and Leslie 700.....just right for my sound. Tell me more about you......I'm a grandpa these days! Thanks for dropping by :0)
