Please pray for my daughter, her name is Alicia too (though we pronounce it like Aleesha). She is battling physical and mental health issues. If she would get back to the sacraments, I believe she would find much healing in both.

I love Sr Alecia! I've been volunteering at the Mission with her and the Franciscans for close to 3 years now. She's quite the celebrity, having been on Chopped and winning first place! I always looked forward to enjoying her cooking with the other summer volunteers. Whenever I get the chance to sit down and listen to her she has such a sweet and comforting personality that she expresses in conversation. I love all the sisters there alongside Br. Matt and Bishop Bob! They're all such wonderful people and one day I hope I could find the time to tell them how much they've helped me grow in my faith!
As soon as the notification for this video popped up, I showed my kids and said, "look! She's the one who won chopped!" 🤣

Talk to God. Try not to blaspheme him. Spend time in Adoration with the Eucharist. And pray the rosary. You can always be forgiven.

As christians we must have complete trust in our Heavenly Father. Even as we struggle in life. As I constantly struggle to provide for my two autistic children I keep faith. Faith is all I have. It is truly the only armor against the enemy. As a single mom things are hard on me. My health is fading I suffered a heart attack two years ago and I’m battling lupus. Every month is a struggle to get by. I struggle to pay rent and struggle to buy groceries it’s disheartening. But God lifts me up everyday. He has carried me this far. No matter how hard my financial struggles are I will praise Jesus! I will keep faith because I believe that Jesus is King.
I pray for all of you and send you a big hug. I hope things get better and that the Lord will always be with you.

If your children struggle to communicate please look into Spell to communicate (S2C) there is a movie called spellers that is fantastic. It is a communication method for non speaking autistic’s that is life changing. My little brother is learning to communicate through spelling.

I have been studying about angels with some fellow Catholics in a Faith sharing group. Padre Pio used to talk to his guardian angel and ask that his guardian angel talk to other guardian angels for their help. We all can do this. This Sister and her Mission saved my life at its darkest hour. I'd given up all hope; I cursed God with every waking breath for doing me the disservice of my own Creation. A decade and a half of self hate had burdened my soul; they loved me in that state. I'm still the worst of sinners, but they showed me hope.

I recently returned to mass after being gone for 30 yrs. I must admit I'm struggling. I don't understand how to love a God I can't see or hear or touch. I pray, go to mass, receive communion, but I feel no real connection. I also have difficulty keeping my mind on him on a daily basis. I wish I understood how people build their lives around him when he seems so abstract and untouchable. I do believe in God but have difficulty believing he cares or is listening or is deeply involved in our lives. I also think people who say they've "encountered" Jesus are just imagining things. If he does engage with people on that level, why wouldn't he reveal himself to all that ask? It just seems cruel.
I can relate to a lot of what you said in your comment. Hopefully you will get better answers to those questions than I’ve gotten. People just tell me that it’s my fault, like I’m somehow not trying hard enough or my heart really doesn’t want it. If I didn’t want it, I wouldn’t continue asking.
I can tell you, go to adoration and you will find your answer. It will not be easy at first but if you continue going to Mass each sunday despite the struggle and commit yourself to Him, you will start to understand and believe.
