Sun Yingsha has the superior technical skills but basically lost the mental battle. She often chose to push the Ding Ning serve, giving Ding the chance to choose where to open to. That's too passive. She also rushed her 2nd shot after an initial loop, nervous to try to finish Ding early. Later, instead of pushing the Ding serve, she tried to rip her backhand opening loop and it wasn't working. Sun didn't have the patience needed to spin it up first, rally a bit longer for the right opportunity. She didn't firmly believe she could win.
Still, many parts of sun yingsha's game rely on bh rally.... she usually initiates her attacks with her strong backhand and when the ball comes short after some bh rally, she punishes the opponents with her fierce forehand.... but that kinds of tactic doesnt work when she encounters lefthanded players, which is why she had a difficult time with qian tianyi, kasumi and ding ning in this tournament... but she is getting better and better and so close to top level .... maybe next time she is likely to overcome ding ning
I hate the rule that only two players could play in the singles in the Olympics. China has at least 5 top players. Any choice would be a big loss to the other three.

这场比赛对中国女队真的很有代表意义，是有经验的老队员还是年轻速度快的新队员更有优势呢，虽然莎莎输了但对老大姐的追赶如狼似虎，在高网大球的时代年轻其实更有优势，以后发展无量。丁宁这场是最近发挥得最好的一场，哈哈有种不服老的倔强，但总体速度已经不如年轻的时候了。
