I am Austrian, understand the lyrics, their subtle wordplay (as evidenced in "Du hast" which is hard to grasp), have been listening to Heavy/Death/Black metal for decades and I can wholeheartedly say that the subtle, yet brutal, crazy sick lyrics coupled with their music is unmatched in music history so far. It's not sledgehammer type stuff most of the time but VERY powerful, subtle, twisting completely sick, crazy lyrics and messages. The best of the best. Extremely well done. There is a reason why my ex wife refused to listen to any of their songs. The lyrics are well and truly crazy for a native german speaker. Crazy, yet sooooooooooo good.
You can see him creeping around the church For a year he has been alone Grief took all his senses He sleeps next to her tombstone every night There next to the bells sleeps a stone And I alone can read it And the red rooster on the fence Has once been your heart The fear pierced on this fence Now I go digging every night To see what's left of it Of the face which once laughed for me There by the bells I spend the night There between slugs a lonely animal By day I long for the night For the second time you slip away from me Marry me With my hands I dig deep To find what I miss so much And as the moon in its most beautiful dress I have kissed your cold mouth I take you gently into my arms But your skin tears like paper And pieces fall from you For the second time you slip away from me There by the bells I spend the night There between slugs a lonely animal By day I long for the night For the second time you slip away from me Marry me So I take what's still left The night is hot and we are naked As a curse the rooster greets the morning I have chopped of its head
It’s about a guy who is digging his ex partners’ grave and lifts her up and as he’s holding her her flesh tears apart and he keeps saying “Heirate Mich” (Marry me) and at some point he says “you got away from me once, you won’t this time” and he kisses her corpse
Well translated! Just a reminder. The verb in a German sentence comes at the end most of the time. So ABGEHACKT actually means "Hacked off". KOPH means "Head". But if you were to sing it in English, it would make a lot more sense for "Head" to be at the end. Why are other languages so confusing? lol
cause english is backwards. it's a latin language in a germanic framework. or is it a germanic language in a latin framework? both are correct. high english:shakespear, middle english: british and bostonian english (stewie griffin),low english: blue collar american english. now whats weird is that the ratio slides in both directions independently depending on which version you're refering to. high english is a germanic language, low english is latin based. same words, different mechanics.
..uhm...I don't know: this in Italy was defined a song about necrophilia, and I see here also people are speaking about this. But my question is: is this dude really fond about cadavers, or it is JUST that one he likes !? It seems more he has a so strong obsession for her, to even don't consider the putrefaction of her as a deterrent.....
german is a language of verbs, latin languages are all about nouns. i don't mean either one is 100% of either, i'm just stating which is more heavily used in each language, or as well as i remember. it's been a few years since i took phonetics. so,1000 words later, that's why i think other languages are so confusing. i'm not trying to be snide, i'm just the worlds worst english nerd on the planet. and if i'm wrong, i apologize in advance.
omg love the electro intro before the metal starts
same its the best part for me sadly.

Songs like Keine Lust are profound
You can see him creeping around the church
For a year he has been alone
Grief took all his senses
He sleeps next to her tombstone every night
There next to the bells sleeps a stone
And I alone can read it
And the red rooster on the fence
Has once been your heart
The fear pierced on this fence
Now I go digging every night
To see what's left of it
Of the face which once laughed for me
There by the bells I spend the night
There between slugs a lonely animal
By day I long for the night
For the second time you slip away from me
Marry me
With my hands I dig deep
To find what I miss so much
And as the moon in its most beautiful dress
I have kissed your cold mouth
I take you gently into my arms
But your skin tears like paper
And pieces fall from you
For the second time you slip away from me
There by the bells I spend the night
There between slugs a lonely animal
By day I long for the night
For the second time you slip away from me
Marry me
So I take what's still left
The night is hot and we are naked
As a curse the rooster greets the morning
I have chopped of its head
Decent
The ending still chills my bones.
Nice quality i could almost read it
dude it relased in 2010 ..
its frightening and adorable at the same time just like the band is
There's no sick topic they won't do a song about, & that is so cool! Humans display these odd behaviors they sing about. And the music ROCKS!!!
:)

It's actually about Necrophilia
It’s about a guy who is digging his ex partners’ grave and lifts her up and as he’s holding her her flesh tears apart and he keeps saying “Heirate Mich” (Marry me) and at some point he says “you got away from me once, you won’t this time” and he kisses her corpse

Is this song about zombie sex or just plain old necrophilia?
Thought so. EEEWWW!!!
Huh. How many songs about necrophilia do these guys have?
Eeeeeeh, let's see.... A LOT.

hahaha, fucking insane's song, but so good music. haha
Ah so it's about the Hunchback of Notre Dame? The original version of course not the Disney crap.
After she's dead like in the song? Yeah that would be hardcore lol
Rammstein songs are good as long as you dont know what it means. Its still good after that, but you're traumatized.
lol. that is all.
i thought it was about Snowwhite lol
Wrong song mate
You should have checked the spelling of the lyrics before posting. It can be frustrating for hardcore fans and grammar nazis.
Till Lindemann proposed better than Edward Cullen...and is hotter...
ab ge HHHAAACCCKKKTTT!!!!!!
Either way im disgusted
Bet you feel awkward proposing to your German girlfriend after listening to this.... Right? Right, buddy? Haha
