Yes,, had no knowledge of this show before 2020,, can't even remember how I discovered it but it's been my favorite since then ... watched all 5 seasons early 2020,, since coronavirus I've watched movies I've never even known about but for reason I found myself coming back to this show,, maybe because I knew it wouldn't disappoint,,I feel like I know so many of these characters ,, and yes you're right they are definitely act up,,, please bring a season 6!

I watched this thanks to a colleague. It was an amazing program. It was so great! It was too good, dirty bad and ugly all rolled up into a wonderful series! It gave you every emotion that the human body can feel. It hurt when it came to an end. I loved it so much!
Hands down, my favorite TV series ever. Everything is so finely crafted. The characters, the music...leave an impression on me that lasts! I became totally engrossed in the very first episode! The opening soundtrack is wonderfully soulful and gritty, just like the show. No sugar-coating history here either! Full of scoundrels and desperate folks, hard times and sorrow, a scrap of humanity portrayed, a bit of kindness, perhaps and the stalwart principle upheld by Cullen Bohannon just shines! I just love the characters. And that MAN! (Wow...) The soundtrack so perfectly captures the emotion in each piece. I find myself looking forward to it as much as the story! Bravo! I too have become interested in the westward expansion as a result. America was built from some pretty tough stock and we should be proud of that. I wish we had been able to form a better compromise with the Native Americans. That part is truly sad. History is not neat and pretty. It was messy and complicated, as this show portrays. Thank you for bringing this rough and raw realism to TV.
I didn't like the last season -the Church lady was a bit over the top - the writers could not have been the same Maybe I'm wrong but that last season was off for some reason - Colm Meaney ( I think that's his name) is an unbelievable talent - all of the actors were great - I miss the show-

My boyfriend and I found this show a couple weeks ago on AMC plus while watching the walking dead. Decided to check it out and we loved it! Couldn't help but stay up late watching one episode after the other! And we would watch it all over again, it was that good!!
I don't know why the hell they don't continue these great shows. They could have went on to other rail projects, there was plenty more to be had over the years.

I never saw it when it was running. Now I've watched it end to end in DVD and I love it. It's up there with Once upon a time in the West, Lonesome Dove and Last of the Mohicans. I never tire of any one.
HELL ON WHEELS.... Great = Grand Western Series. I watched every episode (as it aired), after the last episode was over, well.... simply put I was left feeling empty. Again... Great 👍 Western!!!!

This was a great show. It was entertaining and educational at the same time. It shows how men who had just fought against each other in a war worked together to accomplish an engineering marvel.

Just found it on Netflix a few months ago. Loved it. However they did let things get by.... several scenes have truck/car tire tracks mixed in with horses and wagon tracks. LOL
Amazing show really enjoyed it. i hope to watch it again some day. season 3 or 4 with Jake Weber (main cast member) was brilliant . one of the best seasons of any show on television. the only problem i had with the show was season 5 part 2 felt like it took forever to arrive (over half a year i think) and the use of Christopher Heyerdahl as Thor Gundersen who appears just to be killed off, which i had no problem with it was just his only appearance. still i great season with a satisfying ending
This show is so good the only complaint I have about it is those 1860 army revolvers with brass frames being called "Griswolds". The real Griswold and Gunnison revolvers were copies of the colt 3rd model dragoon and were much bigger than the 1860 army used in the show. They also had a slightly tipped forward grip angle compared to the colt.

This show was awesome I wish they made more like it. They should consider doing more it's all about history. They should fallow Collan on his journey overseas they have RR's. Go get her bring her back, more of the west to explore. I could not stop watching for the last two days. Please try to continue.

Great series. I watched Hell on Wheels it's premiere first season and now in 2020 I'm taking it all in again. Can't beat a great western.

I've never been a huge Western pan in movies. But this was a hell of a series. Costumes and set design alone made it incredible.
