Ultimately, he found peace in his reality.! I remember RM saying in one of their BE-hind stories: "Kim Taehyung the man who rejects what's normal" and this really shows how unique he is.. The beautiful man V made this mv for us to enjoy 2 years ago. He prepared so much in advance, b4 entering the military. His voice and Hyo shin's blends together so beautifully...love the harmonies. This song and mv is a masterpiece.
Another take on this multi layered story would be the two faces of Kim Taehyung. Tae told us that he created the V persona for BTS and on stage and when he comes off stage he is Kim Taehyung. In this mv we see V on the stage in the theatre and Kim Taehyung sitting on the seat as the ‘audience’. The V persona is a creation by the sculptor who is living the bright shiny life looking like it’s a paradise, a life that looks rich, fun and happy. But the reality is that no one’s life is that perfect. Tae has always played with duality we know that he sees his stage persona V as the tiger and himself as the bear. So at the end when they come face to face we see the that V realises he is a creation and his acceptance of it and that the creator is Kim Taehyung wanting his real identity to be the reality. I think the black ink running down his face is symbolic of him writing a storyline for this song in 2022 and then seeding all his songs afterwards with hints of the multiple v’s in slow dancing in a virtual world, the two parallel lives in Fri(end)s with him having the accident and blood on the ground and facing himself in the bed and him as a sculptor/painter in rainy days. This was the time they talked about their struggles and the ‘hiatus’ so V the stage persona was coming to an end (all be it temporarily) but reflecting the uncertainty that Kim Taehyung would be facing with the release of his first album which Suga said was very Kim Taehyung (not V the bright shining star as a bts member) to their nerves about enlistment. So many interpretations of this piece of art created by Tae. It’s time to petition big hit to stop putting his music on platforms as kpop.
That's one of the things I love about V's projects -- he always keeps you guessing, makes you think, nothing is a coincidence, everything is well thought out. To me, there's a continuity from this video made in 2022 to Rainy Days, Slow Dancing and even Fri(end)s where V makes a distinction between the created idol V and the creative human Taehyung.

V the sculptor created an image of himself, V the statue or the sculpture. V sculptor must be projecting his own desires to live be with someone in his V statue. Or he could be a loner, seeking to live/happiness but doesn’t know how. This desire breathed life to his creation. Thus, when the V statue came to life, he also desired to be with someone and created a female statue (and maybe many others) and breathed life to her. The V sculpture lived the life, ie, going around, feeling the wind, being awed by other lives (like the butterfly), dancing, partying, celebrating, loving a girl. But that will end as he faced his creator later and realized he was not real, thus the heartbreaking sadness and acceptance in V’s eyes in the last scene. This is when you see the girl disappearing and even his face in the mirror partly turning into stone. The sculptor V is bloodied. This may represent his own brokenness, or relate to the scene where he was angry and frustrated and took such anger on his scuplture of V thus scraping that part of his face under his eye, and breaking him. It can also be theorized that when sculptor V broke the V statue, this instead gave life to the statue while the sculptor sustained the brokenness or injuries, sort of opposite effect. Or these could all just be a part of the sculptor’s dreams. Teaser 1 represents the darkness in his life. Teaser 2 is his daydream of a happier life, although it will end like any other dream, and he will go back to reality. Also the dark jacket and heavy footsteps may represent the darkness in the sculptor’s life, while the red jacket and whitish colors may symbolize life and lightness. The dark jacket V can also be the representation of Winter- when it is cold, dark and can bring a heavy feeling. For me there are both biblical and mythological elements in the storyline. And many ways to interpret or solve the puzzle. Sufficing to say, V succeeded in engaging us all to thinking and discoursing about all these. This is what I think at least. Right or wrong, the MV is brilliant. It evokes many thoughts even after watching the MV, and has real depth. V’s acting is so effective. I can still feel sadness for his character seeing his expressions. V’s vocal harmony with PH is also superb and magical! V’s visual is unparalleled throughout the video. This MV and song are masterpieces that not just anyone can put together. Kudos to PH and as for V, he really is Korea’s best talent and treasure!

V is a classic crooner. His voice has mellowed and matured. Sinatra would give him two thumbs up! I don't understand the ending of this MV. And, while I'm at it, I didn't understand the ending of Fri(end)s either. I know these endings must have been meaningful to Taehyung, but I guess I'm getting too old to get it anymore.
Inspired by the story of Pygmalion who disdains the world and lives only for his art. He creates a statute of the woman and loves that sculpture so much he wished it was alive. Aphrodite grants him his wish and brings the statute to life. Tae adds his twist to this and at the end the creator comes face to face with his creation. The ‘creation’ (red jacket V) comes to realise that he is looking at his creator. He expresses the realisation that he is actually the statute living in the ‘paradise’ where he thought he was the creator of the female statue. This is seen by him touching the mark on his neck which is the same as the one on the female sculpture. The creator (Black Jacket V) expresses that as the actual creator the ‘paradise’ belongs to him. Tae inspires critical thinking with his are allowing for multiple theories to coexists in his artistic story telling. And he always gives a masterclass in acting. I see a running theme now of our duality king. Two V’s ending MV’s, first in the friend’s MV and now this mv. V vs Kim Taehyung, Tiger vs Bear, he has told us he has his stage persona V the tiger and he is Kim Taehyung the bear in his normal life. I’m wondering based on the timeline of the song releases if the 2 V’s in the Friend’s MV at the end was a teaser for the ending in this mv. He made winter ahead 2 years ago so he knew the storyline before he made slow dancing and friends so dropped the Easter eggs in those mv to tease us. BTS are known to tease the next mv at end of songs.
