These days several of my nieces and nephews play organized soccer as well. I've been a fan of the international game for around five decades give or take. Same for many of the friends I've known over those years. Canada has very large immigrant populations from virtually every country that plays on the world stage. Those folks don't stop being fans just because they moved to Canada. It's not our top sport, I'll give you that, but to say "no one likes it" is just flat-out wrong.

The thing that always amuses me about such claims is how come no black (ie non North African) African team ever performs well internationally? If a couple of Ghanaians or Nigerians makes a Western team so good, why is it that African teams suck at advancing in the World Cup?
