    i am 80 years old & have played a lot of judo and also watched a lot
    Ono is my favorite judoka IMHO no one has ever been better at this fine sport.

      @JSL Agreed. The Japanese maintain the cute fantasy that size doesn’t matter in judo, but decades of experience puts the lie to that, sadly.

    you can't beat a 90kg man with 73kg with Judo.

      Koga did. Second at the All Japan Champs at openweight. Okano won it and he was 80 kgs.

      problem is, he is fighting tough opponents just like him. If the skill is the same, the strongest wins the majority of the time, and that goes for all martial arts.
