Danny Branderson Clarkson's $12.5 million salary was the reason he was traded... not because he wasn't good enough or Hart and Caruso better. If they traded Hart, they will still need to trade Randle and Nance with him to match salary. That would be a much bigger loss for the Lakers. Trading Hart without trading Randle does not clear up any salary cap space.
