The beast of darkness wants to take over guts, and he literally CANNOT get rid of it

there is a lot of these kinds of characters. Guts and Beast of Darkness, Bruce Banner and Hulk, Eddie and Venom, Eren and Attack Titan ect.
Anger issues are both scary but empowering. The fact that you'll never be trown around because there is a monster to wreck everything posing a threat to you.
As long as you get beaten to a pulp, your limbic system will stand up and fight for you, even if you're missing limbs, even if you are losing blood, your instincts will carry you forward.
The scary part is, you can't control it, your consciousness is not active when you go berserk. You need to learn and aim it at the threat, and not to those you want to protect.
