Great! There is a mounting bracket that's used for the inside window mount. I put mine outside to reduce the potential for vibration jitter since I think the bracket would have a slight flex. But the image stabilization in the system seems to be pretty good, and video from even dirt roads seem to be quite stable. Good luck with your installation and thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching! That power kit is available as an optional kit from Wolfbox - "Dashcam Multifunctional Hardwire Kit" which is the first item in the "Select Addons" section on the right side of the product page.
How are you liking the camera? I bought one for my Prime SE and although it worked as advertised I found it annoying as my eyes had to adjust since it’s a 2D image unlike the mirror. I gave it a week and then sent it back. It didn’t work as well a regular mirror as the original so leaving it off most of the time wasn’t going to work. I really wanted to like it as it is nice to be able to see behind you without looking through the car.
I found the same issue - but I just let it go into screen saver mode and use it as a normal mirror. It's not as clear/bright as the real mirror but it's enough. Now I use the system really only as a dash/rear camera to record events in case needed. I also don't like the fact you have to take out the memory card to download all the files, instead of just being able to plug in an external card or a laptop. Otherwise, the image quality is pretty good.
Hi Alfredo, Thanks for watching my video! The Rav4 Prime come with tinted glass on the rear hatch, so I felt that would make the rear view quality poor, and that's why I put it outside next to the built-in camera. I do think some people don't like to drill through the body so they just put it inside and live with the lower quality video.
Not sure I understand your question. If you mean the wiring to the rear camera, the wires went up along the edge of the headliner - you have to pull off the weather strips along the way. Once you get it out the back, you need to fish the wires through the larger of the two rubber grommets (I used the small one and it was really tight), into the hatch. I used a solid house electrical wire to do the fishing. And then it's a matter of securing the wires as it makes its way to the camera. I hope that answeres your question - let me know if you were asking something else.
Do you have a functions video? I'm interested in seeing the visibility of the rear camera being placed next to the license plate. Most of the other videos I have seen place the camera on the rear window. I'm curious if you can pan up? Thanks
Hi, I plan to post a review video, in which I go through the operation and use of the system. But to answer your question, it's a digital pan up and down, so the view on the mirror monitor will allow you to swing the rear view up and down. The factory recommended placement is where I put it, because the window of the rear hatch on my car is factory tinted and the image would not be as clear as having the camera on the outside above the license plate.
Hmm, my wife just bought me a G850 for my birthday and it looks like yours has wifi? Mine does not, I don't think. I only have the front facing mirror camera installed so far.. no back up camera or GPS, but how do I know if it has wifi?
If you mean the red and yellow wires for the power, those were tapped into the fuse block under the driver side dash. At 15:25 in the video, I show which two I used, but in the video I said red goes to constant 12V and yellow goes to switched but that's actually backwards, and the yellow goes to constant 12V and red goes to switched. I hope this is what you were asking - if not, please let me know what you mean, because that's the only red wire in this kit. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for responding so fast. I meant the red wire is to attached to the rear camera. You can see it when you are pulling it through to the hatch door at 11:40-12:40. At 14:58 - 15:15 you say that the only thing left to do back here is to tap the Back up light wire to show the lines on the mirror when you back up.
@@VICTORRODRIGUEZ-v4i Ah! That's the wire that attached to the backup light, which would turn on when you put the car in reverse. That signal increases the zoom while pointing the image down towards the ground, and also displays grid lines. It's just like in the car, but the grid lines don't curve with the turning of the wheel. It's the same in my Prime SE (lines don't curve), but it would be a downgrade if your car has the PP package.
You can buy it on the Wolfbox website: wolfbox.com/?ref=UT2jCY9s0wuvOr If you go into any of the dashcam pages (e.g., G850) on the G850 page, the first accessory is the "WOLFBOX Dashcam Multifunctional Hardwire Kit".
Does it require to install the backup camera in order for the rear view mirror to activate? I know question sounded stupid. My rav4 already is equipped with backup camera and I have no need to install a second one. I just want the dash cam and bigger rearview mirror. Will it work?
Unfortunately, this system cannot use the car's built-in backup camera. I have not heard of anyone trying to tap into the car's cameras. So yes, you have to install the backup camera that's part of this set in order to have the rear view on this device.
Hi i have the same thing . Already have a back up camera. But can I. Just stick it to my back window without hardwire. I don't need parking mode or backup. Just to see it as a regular mirror if needed .
Is there an app for this dashcam? I ordered an g850 and it says app included and I can’t find any information about it anywhere nor leading to an app to download 😣
I appreciate this video for the RAV4. Thanks!
So happy you made this video.
I am going to do the same. Except im going to mount the camera at the top of my rear window. Maybe. If possible.

Excellent work! Thanks for the video!
Great video man. I was wondering where did you you get the hardware kit? When I ordered my G850 it did not come with that

that drilled hole with cut the wire over time from vibration. You want to add a grommet or something to protect the camera wire.
Thank Sir, this was thorough and very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice job 👍
Thank you!
mine just came in and this video will help a ton when I go for the install! Thanks Phil appreciate it
I'm glad it will help! Thanks for watching!
Cool‼️thanks you 👍🏼
hi there. in your experience. what do you think is the best option to install the rear camera? inside or outside of my rav4?
Hi Alfredo, Thanks for watching my video! How did you get the fish wire through the roof thing

Hi Mark, No, it does not have wifi. Let me know if you have any questions on other aspects of the installation. Thanks for watching!
Were you able to figure out where to connect the red wire from the rear camera?

Where did you purchase the direct connect to the battery so you didn’t have to use the cigarette power cord
You can buy it on the Wolfbox website: wolfbox.com/?ref=UT2jCY9s0wuvOr

For the rear camera, do I only use the 3m ??
Yes i only used the tape. Be sure to clean the spot you're going to use really well, i finished it with rubbing alcohol.

Hi, as far as I know, there is a window app for viewing the videos. No smartphone app.
Hello. Do you have interest in testing our Toyota 4Runner product?
What product would that be?
