I knew a guy in Mt. Shasta Ca. back in 1973 (when I was thirteen) who had one of these. He use to let me take it out into the woods alone. It was completely enclosed no open bed, with bench seats down both sides and had a hatch in the roof so you could get in that way if the snow got to deep for the side doors. It was fun to take out at night. It had 360 deg lighting.
'...a hatch in the roof .... in case the snow got too deep' Dear GOD Man! Haven't you been been putting your faith in Fox News? Didn't they warn you about "myths" like Climate Change?
Interesting watching a video of a machine built the same year I was born. Gotta say, it goes through the deep snow way better than I can today. Thanks for sharing this with us! 👍
I live south of Buffalo N.Y. in springville. On one of the backroads there's a place with two of these. One's almost fully restored and one's just sitting there. That one is lacking a lot.
Pretty sad theres no info on its mechanical bits. What kind of engines did they use? Automatics or standard shift? Transfer case or drop box. What kind of steering did they use. The siren is cool if your ten years old, but as a grown man ... I'd like to know real info . How do you get close to such a machine and not be Interested in the proper info.......sigh....
I grew up in medford oregon...Tucker Snow cats were built right next door in Phoenix....They were beasts...I've been gone for almost 40 years so not sure if they're still building them there...
Probably a torque converter. Lots of 50's and 60's industrial equipment had a clutch and a torque converter. You only used the clutch when changing gears.
She's so sweet looking with her big feet!!! I've always had a thing for tukers!!! Did anyone see the cable show life Below zero when Sue Akin used one to take her front end loader home from where she bought it???? Of course it was a lot bigger!!! There just so capable looking and of course are!!!! 😍🥰🌈🦄🤗😘💋💋💉💋💋💋💘💔🇧🇻🇩🇰🇨🇱💜💜💜🥳🎉🎊😇😇🤠
Beautiful machine of history with no computers
Now if we just had a guy that knows how to drive it good lord
Yeah, I remember my first time driving a sick lol
I'm a retired mechanic, a lot of kid's today can't drive a stick shift.
Alot of kids are good at staring at the phone
Hahahaha
Probably no power steering

I can remember Pine Top Ski Area in Rhode Island had one of these when I was a kid ! (back in the early 70's... damn I'm old)

Thanks for sharing this with us! 👍
As a kid I saw one on a lake in the UP towing a fishing shanty through deep drifts with ease!
That's Awesome!!!
Make Sure you keep that Awesome piece of history in in good condition!! :D
That is the coolest snowcat i ever seen, Thank you👍🏼❤️
The way you were so excited about it, I would've gave you a ride if it was me that owned it.
I've driven one a lot and repaired it a lot...I was pretty young at a NH ski area..fun for sure
There are several around Colorado, and many are still used. Tucker manufactures them to this day.
What a great video thanks so much for sharing this 👍
6:16 - Shoutout this dude walking right in the way when you've been there filming the thing and expressing interest the whole time. xD
I was thinking the same thing!! That guy couldn't have been more rude!!
Very cool piece of history. Would work great on a ranch in the winter that gets snow
thank you for sharing. I love it
We used one in the early 90s for snowmaking on okemo mtn vt
Fantastic machine!
I want one of these for cruising around Mossy Creek, AR

Visited one of these...at McMurdo station, Antarctica 80-81, wintered over. You're missing the front PTO winch.
Beautiful and what a classic.
That is in very good condition. No wonder he is taking a lot of care not to roll it :o)
Wow, cool!
Great camera work, I was just kidsing
An LS V8 ln that thing instead of that diesel, That would be a banger.
However it looks a cool veichle whatever driveline it has. 😄👍
There’s a RUclips series that did exactly that
I've seen one In the upper peninsula in use
Man I love that, how cool is that bad boy and all original
This and a Bombardier Muskeg at Gunstock Ski Area , N.H. very great experience...
Amazing! Looks unstoppable! What is the drivetrain?
Cool rig
One day I will own a ticket even if I have to make it myself 🤣
Holy shit.
Hold the camera still.

Never drive a tracked vehicle any further than you are willing to walk

Nice 👍🏻
Was this the brand machine used in the movie with Jack Nicholson- "The Shining" ?
of course its New Hampshire!
Are those 9" rearends?
Is that company affiliated with the Tucker car company?
No, it is not. They still make machines today in Medford, Oregon.
Is this his first time driving this?
My sister lives in medford
They don't make them like that anymore. Still they have no equal.
Just don’t get it stuck. Would be nice to know some specs
I want one
Where was this filmed? Guys sound like they got Maine accents 🤣
Gas motor?
Yes. Chrysler Industrial 318
Tucker? As in Preston Tucker???
Looks like Herms in grand marias michigan
S*** isn't holy, God bless, it is a nice outfit
New Hampshire?
Cool rig, but I’m not sure you could have made a shakier video even if you tried… 👎🏻. I’m dizzy now
And film... "I got a you tube channel "
Omg just go over it
it appears the operator doesn't know what he's doing
Clutch must be slipping

Please stop with the …. “It’s so cool”
Restore it!
And please drive it like a man… my god what a ….
My guy you don’t have a million dollars 😂
You can not drive it at all
She's so sweet looking with her big feet!!! I've always had a thing for tukers!!!
