Here's a protip.
Use the Bound Weapons. It saves you on carry weight, constantly gives XP on your conjuration, and has all the power of Daedric weapons.
you cant enchant or smith it
Suvvri
So? Having a Daedric weapon ON DEMAND early in the game is SO useful.
Yes you can replace it in late game, but for early to mid, it'll carry you through.
Not to mention, it's easier to sneak magic into a jail cell than a weapon.
George Cowsert Implying I'm the kind of guy to let himself go to jail outside of the markarth quest.
シンゴジラ
Even so, it's easier to do your time than pay the fee if you're low on cash.
Plus, there are a good amount of moments where you'd have little access to your items, and have to resort to spells.
George Cowsert it's a good choice for early to mid game but as a end game strategy it's not so good as you can't upgrade the bound weapons with smithing or enchantments so they only have the base damage of the daedric weapon.
this is one of the few builds that doesn't have the background of everyone dying.
that's refreshing. he had a happy home life, a loving family and was just on his way to Skyrim to further his studies.
Chrono Mitsurugi it is i made mine a lord and lady of Stormhaven's daughter
*COUGH COUGH* cryomancer *COUGH COUGH*
Chrono Mitsurugi I made mine complete the College and Companions quests then he began to work for the Dark Brotherhood. After completing the quest, he paid off all his bounties and turned over a new leaf, got married, and brought the Initiates along with him on his journey.
McCarney 420 mine is going to do that but kill off the Dark Brotherhood
well to be fair, in skyrim times it doesn't seem like too many people would live nice lives. especially thieves and assassins =)
Battle mage and stealth archers are my favorite classes
Ahh a man of culture, I usually use Brenton for my "evil" builds and imperials for "good" builds. I'm not a real fan of archers but I like assasians.
I like me some arcane archers and battlemages
@@pontiff_zero8279 nice!
i always end up as an arcane warrior ;-;
Illusion and sneak
10:33 that poor Skeleton just got rekt. Lived its whole undead life waiting for one moment, this one moment, training its whole life in combat... It get ripped to shreds before it can take a swing at its very first enemy.
B Vella Now if it were a Dark Souls skeleton...
F to pay respects.
@@SwaagMan F
+Vella. Lol! +1
Late but,now you're making me feel bad for skeleton's or mostly for that skeleton
For Battlemage I usually start with heavy armor and use a bound sword in my right hand, cast oakflesh, and keep frost magic in my left hand. Middle game I switch to casting stoneflesh, whichever cloak would be most helpful for the current situation, and keep fast healing in my left hand. Late game I swap to ebony flesh and a dragonbone sword with absorb health and magicka.
Hmm... solid character
If only you could block like an Oblivion with one spell in use.
It seems like everytime a build is gifted in magic, They always loose all knowledge when they get arrested and can only cast flames and healing.
bam bam yeah, we should be a fully leveled at the beginning!
bam bam use an alternate start mod and class mod
Whack
That's less about the build and more about the game mechanics itself. Best motto for skyrim, "there's a mod for that"
This may be unpopular, but i like to give my some levels to start if im roleplaying having prior experience with something. if im a mage from high rock i may give myself an additional 25 levels in a certain magic perk tree at the start. my level will of coure start a bit higher too, but at least i feel more immersed while still having stuff to unlock.
Battlemages and spellswords have had weird alterations throughout the years.Sometimes a battlemage is a no armor wearing badass with weapons, sometimes a spellsword is the exact same just with heavy armor.
The main point is that if you want to be either,it's best to chose which iteration you want to use beforehand,as there properties are murky.
I cant be the only one watching in 2023 right?
Edit: since I made this comment I bought a pc and started modding skyrim and boy is it a completely different game 👌

Do also the "book of love"-quest which you start by speaking to the priest of Mara in Rifton. The reward is a passive effect called "Agent of Mara" that grands you an additional magic resistance of 15% !
Tip: if you're going for a conjuration warrior, go for the Lord stone. This is because spell absorbtion can make you absorb your own conjuration spells. Overall just be a Breton, get the lord stone, two ranks of magic resistance, and agent of Mara. In total that will bring your magic resistance up to the cap of 85%.
This game is like sitting down after work, smoking a little weed and sipping on a freezing cold glass of simple ice water, and you turn on this game and begin to play and grind explore, and it's almost as if when you are reading a really good book all while relaxing at home yet dignified and open to violence levels of your choosing, or a brighter more righteous path lead to glory, honor, and respect not as if it were vice-versa and dark all while growing in level only to follow greed, power, wealth and offensive nature acts even war. However you like to play it though, Skyrim really is one of a kind. Thanks Bethesda!! :)
Totally agree man. simply magical.

+FudgeMuppet - Elder Scrolls & Fallout you're the best i love you're builds playing your build blademaster right now keep it up
ATTENTION!
Unless playing on PC your SPELL ABSORPTION will ABSORB your ATRONACHS instead of SUMMONING THEM!
This is a glitch that has NOT been patched on console!
@Presley Chan Actually if you cast the Restoration Ring thing (Forgot what it was called) and used the Atronach stone. You'll have a crazy amount of Magicka Regenerate
@Ralis Sedarys Flesh spells and most healing spells seem to be fine. Guardian Circle will be absorbed though. It's cool if you want an endless pool of Magicka. Not so cool if you want to be healed.
@Ralis Sedarys Nah, all other healing spells besides Guardian Circle are fine.
@Ralis Sedarys Yep! Only atronach style summons, necromancy or bound weapons are fine
Battle mages are my favorite. You get so many tools to explore. And it's got so many options that it rarely gets repetitive.
i dont really use the builds i just love how you guys do the backstories and when you describe the builds. keep up the good work!
Whoa, whoa whoa! Watch the magic!
Go cast your fancy magic someplace else.
Destruction Magic's fine, just don't go burning down any buildings
So, you can cast a few spells.. Am I supposed to be impressed?
Hail, summoner. Conjure me up a warm bed, would you?
You shouldn't play with fire you know
Why did they stop doing builds like this
Whiskey Killa we are doing more very soon :)
Awesome love your guys builds
FudgeMuppet MAKE A FUCKING LT COWSON BUILD
FudgeMuppet do some remastered ones they will be great
Whiskey Killa i like this build but sadly on my ps4 my save broke i keep trying to leave sovrngade by talking to Tsun after defeating Alduin but i get an infinte loop loading screen
I really wish there was a better way to swap spell and abilities. Going in and out of another interface several times per fight sucks a lot of the enjoyment I get out of this game when I try magic.
The1rust you can save two presets but the favorite menu is about the best your gonna get
when you put them in your favourite list, highlight the ability and press a number key ,hey presto that favourite is now hot keyed and you no longer need to go into the menu. Pressing the hotkey once will put the abbility in your left hand, twice will put it in both hands
I don't know why you can't hotkey 3 or 4 spells or weapons to switch without pausing during battle. I play on xbox, I like that I can favorite my bow, one hand and magic. But wish there was a way to change seamlessly.
+The1rust. PC master race mate.
I have an MMO mouse and I just assign hotkeys and almost never bother with the favorite menu unless I have to change something.
7:55 Heavy Armor increased to 19 and you’re level 51.. something tells me you don’t actually normally wear heavy armour
@Presley Chan but wouldn't it be more advisable to make a non-essential(to your build) legendary? Like maybe the lockpicking tree.
@Jayden Dan Dominquez honestly it ain't that hard to level up armor just get fast healing spell and constantly spam that while a giant smacks you after a while of playing in my latest playthrough i got myself some decent armor i did that and leveled up my restoration and heavy armor fairly quick
More likely the character isn’t taking much damage to lvl heavy armour anyways… lol
I'm glad to see that you guys have become so popular, you put a lot of thought and effort into your videos and you honestly deserve more
How to mage in Skyrim.
1 Forget destruction. Too weak.
2 Get paralysis. Forget the rest of alteration.
3 Get a healing spell.
4 Maybe learn to summon a flame atronach because it looks cool.
5 If you get illusion you will never drink anything else than milk.
6 Get a real weapon and fight like a real man.
If I threw you into a lake do you think it would turn into an ocean?
As a Wooper I can use Water Gun to make it bigger. But it will take a while.
FalloutPro Oh yeah sure, you must feel like a reeeaaal man just popping a Daedric sword out of nowhere. I had to work countless years at the forge, strip mine every vein of ebony ore I could find, and delve into the darkest reaches of Oblivion to tear out the hearts of hundreds of Dremora Kynvals armed to the teeth...WITH MY BARE HANDS! But yeah, you're the real man alright, you damn milk drinker!
hilarious im a mage so destrustion is my first line of defense
Alteration is good for defending spells tho
I have a battlemage character and love playing as him. I use melee, illusion, alteration, restoration, and sneak. I use enchanting and smithing. This is a great build as well. Love the combination that you used :)
i still find restoration valuable to this class. Being able to cast a greater ward against dragons or other enemies on legendary at higher level helps a lot. especially to block the drain vitality shout from legendary dragons.
I enjoyed the 50% of this 18 minute video that wasn't about this character's parents.
the backstory is for those who like the role play aspect of the *roleplayingame* just skip it
hahaha ur an edgelord @Syrona
I actually like the back story's because it gives it more depth but hey some people don't like to roleplay on a ROLEPLAYING GAME
@@weddingtable3501 there's a fine line between roleplaying while playing Skyrim and playing Skyrim while you're roleplaying.
@Grym skyrim is not the best but I disagree that it's not rpg. It pretty much fits the description of an rpg.
I just finished the weirdest skyrim build ever: the spellsword thief. I used the amulet of articulation, blackguards armor, windshear , and the ignite spell (after getting azidhals ring of arcana) and somehow it became my best build, I highly recommend it.edit; I also became an imperial, for some reason.
That is called a Nightblade, my friend.
I like the new long format for the Skyrim builds. Good stuff.
I have 1 suggestion for this... Instead of using Ebony armor, use the Ebony Mail for the aoe poison damage. To further augment the aoe damage, go destruction for the cloak spells. Anything close to you will die quickly.
These damn videos making me want to play Skyrim again.
I love this longer style Skyrim build video. It's awesome and I hope you keep it up. My only beef with this build is that you're not putting any points in stamina. I understand that you don't plan on using stamina for tons of melee, but as a heavy armor character, you're going to have hardly any carrying points left to carry any loot. And if you're not going to get perks in Heavy Armor then you can't get the perk where heavy armor weighs nothing. Then it's harder to get your enchanting raised when you can't carry back a good number of items from combat and enchant them to raise your skill. And late in game your spells are going to cost such minimal magic from all the enchantments that having all that magic won't matter much. Even in your video you were casting flesh spells for essentially no magic, and they're some of the most expensive spells in the game. So I think spreading out some skill points to stamina would just be a good idea.
Love the new and more in depth builds Fudge

Making a swole nord homelander head ass battle mage yurrrr
This video was everything I was looking for and then some; I loved the part with the backstory a lot
holy shit i just asked for this on the mage video not a few hours ago thank you
Ya this video is from January thank you
austin blades From 8 months ago? Sure
well it's says 1 day ago not sure where you're getting 8 months
austin blades This isn't a new video lol
for the love christ i know its not a new video no one needs to comment its not a new video any more it was in my reccomended videos and i though it was new please shut up so i stop getting notifications saying the exact same thing over and over again
Even though it was a general suggestion and not for the build itself, I liked when you suggested a mod. So maybe just mentioning one or two mods that you think could improve the build would be cool when you do an unmodded one. Console players can't use them and you have other actual modded builds so don't focus a lot of time to it but something along the lines of "we also linked some mods that would be useful for this build in the description if you're interested" would be really cool. I'm happy you guys are spicing up this builds, keep up the good work
I did almost this exact same build years ago and stood there as the most powerful mage characters threw their spells but did literally nothing but fill up my Magicka.
love the new best build guides! good work guys. I remember being hyped whenever I saw the new FM show in my suggested box so glad that's coming back. damn that was back when you had like 50,000 subscribers! mad channel growth but you two deserve it:)
you guys should try out a nudist build, on either fallout or skyrim. can use whatever weapons, the only catch is no armor.. or clothes :-)
I support this idea
+ Sarah Kehler i like the idea
+Vivec Of course you would, you only wear a diaper!
***** on legendery
I want this to happen to!
One of your best builds tbh, this is like the commando build for fallout 4, i wait for both for a long time and when i used them they became my fav lol, keep it up.
I love this build but I’ve found that having restoration, if only for the healing spells to be kinda useful at least in the early game
thank you so much I have always loved a battlemage but have never found a good balance this helped a lot. keep making amazing builds.
This video made me realize that the Paralyze spell is ES equivalent of Avada Kevadra. It even matches the color.
As a skyrim nerd and somewhat of a harry potter nerd, this makes me happy.
This build is great if you understand Alchemy. With proper perk investment and Alchemy gear, you can brew Fortify Destruction potions with 180% spell potency. This is more damage than dual casting for less cost. You can also brew Weakness to Fire and Weakness to Magic poisons to increase this further if you want to.
People that say Impact is mandatory for Destruction to be viable haven't done enough research into Alchemy.
COULD THE LEGENDS BE TRUE ?
Legends don't burn down villages

+seanie russell Welcome bro
TALOS SMITE THE UNWORTHY THALMOR!!!!!!!!
I just started my first battlemage yesterday with destruction and one handed and light armor with some smithing and I love it
Tbh I really love using the Daedric Mace instead of axe.
Gabriel Hernandez i prefer the look of ebony and dragon over daedric but its because i'm not into the demonic look of daedric armor and weapons
Gabriel Hernandez I completely agree, the mace is fantastic :D also, awesome profile pic, can't wait for Borderlands 3
Thomas H thanks fam, me too.
I've played borderlands 2 and the pre-sequal and i couldn't get into them i like the easter eggs don't get me wrong but it seemed too cheesy
Angry Devil Gamer dat's da point, doe, right!
I like the format in which you do your builds. Well, that was my opinion and now it is time for me to play some skyrim.
I think a Battlemage born in the Imperial City should absolutely join the Imperials, and I say that as a diehard Stormcloak. It just fits his entire background. The Imperial City's wealth is based on it being the capital of a mighty empire.
@@blackhoodie4170 HAH! You call us milk drinkers while you attack from afar? Come here and fight me face to face, little bitch!
I just created a new character and wanted to be a battle-mage. I played for like 3 hours and then I checked ur channel and now I have something to level up ;)Love ur builds
I think that a Battlemage should use the wall spells (wall of flames and the like) as opposed to the traditional projectile spells. That way you can make use of destruction and one-handed simultaneously. Otherwise you are just eating your meal with 2 forks.
I like this format way more than the old skyrim build layout. Good call guys. Keep up the good work.
1:57 "PRAISE THE SUN!!!!!" His Conjuror Spell plays Dark Souls way to much XD
Definitely going to use this build when I finally get around to playing Skyrim on PC.
why aren't you using any cloak spells? they are useful at melee rang.
Nice build and thanks for the main menu mod been looking for something like this for ages
Be careful with the atronach stone. It will also absorb your spells as well. Almost every time I tried to conjure, it would prevent it. Sucks to be in combat and that happens.
Phatfatman use that to refresh your magika for free
I didn't think I would enjoy this but I like what I am seeing, Keep up the great work Fudgemuppet.
At 0:03 just subscribed because of that name
Im playing a battlemage as a nord. Im only gonna have one world and I chose a nord so im making armours enchanted to counter being a warrior build. Plus the extra resistance to frost magic is always good.
Cool, are you using armor or alteration?
@@chrislovato7141 I'm using dragon armour plus the alteration dragonskin spell.
I think joining the vampires would be of more more interest to the battle Mage because of their magical potential
Genji Shimada How do you join them?
***** Chill. I haven't played Skyrim in years.
Genji Shimada
Genji Shimada Although vampyrism is a pain in the ass since you have to feed constantly.
Stonkish not in the dlc ;) just go to the castle and BAM infinite feeding
Was literally waiting for this so I could get back into skyrim. And it happened to be the perfect class too :)) thx
Why not smithing? I think this build will hit super badass and be tankier with a legendary upgraded strong daedric sword or dragonbone sword + other gear. Like all enchants and everything stays the same but adding master destruction + master alteration as well as picking 1 wpn maybe sword and put 3 points there for more crit chance, heavy armor perks up to conditioning (for better speed) and full heavy armor smithing perks up to dragonbone smithing. The required level then would be 71 according to the skill calculator but 71 is still not max lvl 81 in the game.
i always implement smithing into my builds as a minor skill, then when i max my armor out i legendary it to get my perks back
Amazing build! Very close close to what I had in mind. (Debating if I go with light armor instead of heavy). Thank you for sharing your videos and all the work done, love it!
Battlemage with shield and Resturation is my favorite. So OP
I would personally use smithing instead of alteration, but then again alteration allows you to use whatever armor you'd like, so maybe i'll try it out! I would also personally use moroki instead of vokun for the extra magicka regen, and for the athsetic.
My Battle Mage is a little different but very effective (especially at low levels)
Race Breton
Stone Atronach
Major Skills Conjuration, Restoration, One Handed
Minor Skills Heavy Armor, Alteration
Crafting Skill Enchanting
Basically he functions as melee character who uses a bound sword/s as his main method of attacking as they are very powerful at low levels using restoration to heal. He wears Heavy Armor though he can use mages robes as well and enchanting for money and making his armor better. I focused little to nothing on destruction as frankly i dont like that destruction tree
TheSilverPhoenix100 k
TheSilverPhoenix100 i am gonna use restoration but i won't put skills into it because its out of desperation when i need quick health
I would love to see this get an updated version
Actually, if you do invest more in poisons than potions, you can make poisons that paralyze your enemies, negating the need for paralyze spell. You can also make poison of weakness to poison, which makes targets weaker to poisons, than use a poison of weakness to magicka which will make your destruction spells do a shit ton more damage
is it worth it tho? you can just kill them
Magmakaj30 that's how I feel about poisons in the elder scrolls
why take time making poisons when you can kill them faster without them
Timothy Gillis let's say there is a boss, you can bind a strong poison to favorite and spam the fuck out of it while fighting, if your alchemy is high boss will die pretty quick
Magmakaj30 it's not so much about waisting more time and skills with alchemy, but about not needing to waist time with alteration, or whatever paralyze and weakness spells. If you have good alchemy, the ebony warrior is 10x easier to kill just spam paralyze poisons and poisons that make them weaker to one handed damage and/or destruction, which makes alchemy and spellsword class work so well together
Metalhead 831 well yes if you are going to use alchemy with a non sneak character like battlemage, but i really like to use alteration with night blade characters, so i can see them before they can see me, but alchemy can get you rich af so thats nice
im currently playing an imperial battlemage but im tempted to startover as a breton this has sold me thanks
'Genetic advantages' you mean talents
Yo could say he has a rather large Standing Stone.

All FudgeMuppet builds are awesome but i really prefere the old style. We all saw thousands of "best builds". I enjoyed your unique builds much more. And also please do some more modded builds.
Great build and great video. I could say this to most youtubers, but it would help a lot if you put in more pauses in the 'speak' of your videos. As it is now I have to pause every 5-10 seconds to comprehend what you said and remember it. Don't be afraid of a few silent pauses; it's how we normally talk afterall. But yes, really great video and great roleplay too. Good job.
That moment when you've got every single perk in the game
Started a dark elf with the plan of reliving my first Skyrim character on these molds. Gaspar likes his heavy armor and his conjuration spells.
Goddamnit I just made a battlemage and searched your channel for a good build and I found the prophet (which is okay) but if I waited a week I would have used this. NOOOOOO

+ClownE Hands in the air, he didnt care
7:27 You accidentally said 'Dawnguard' again when you meant 'Dragonborn'.
After over 600 hours in Skyrim, seeing this guide kind of makes me want to jump back in.
I feel like Nahkriin would work better for a battlemage no?
Derek Taylor i’m with you but he is a late game enemy if i know right
I'm playing through Skyrim as a reactionary Jagar-admiring descendant of the Tharn family, and this build works perfectly for her. By the way, if any of you haven't played as a power-hungry character yet, do it. I'm having a blast.
Old video but I have been trying a build similar to this on legendary. I just traded alteration for smithing
This was cool, I'm looking forward to some modded builds in the expanded format you guys are using now
I found the build very helpful but when i switched alchemy with restoration it was much better.
This video is amazing, and I love the work you put into it, so my only request is if you can make 5 a day.
2024 still playing
Haven't gotten too far into it yet but really liking this build.
I made a class I call dark battle summoner I use a deadric sword of thunderbolts and the sanguine rose
Aiden Phoenix Sounds like a Dremora Mage.
Triggeredkid 7-11 yea I also can use spell breaker and dawnstar 8D
David Theres a quest where u can get a dwemer shield its some deadric shit but its called dawnstar. Atleast thats wat i think hes saying.
Like this new format keep up the good work
I love a battlemage stylized playthrough, (doing one right now) but I can never get myself to use Heavy Armor. I always go Light Armor, with a more agile fighter who dodges and then strikes when in melee range. If I need to tank a hit or two, which rarely happens, there's flesh spells.
Heavy gauntlets and boots with robes. Add the Lord stone and you've got a quick moving mage that can take some damage.
Can you please keep this longer more detailed build format but revert to your wacky builds, they really made your channel unique from all the other build channels
This type of build works in Fallout 4 because it is new but skyrim is 4 years old.(p.s. u missed skyrim week last November) in skyrim we all know what to do to get the highest dps for all play styles, I watch you builds for new ways to this game. I like ved things like the toxicologist and banchee. now that most of these paths in vinilla have been done move to NEW modded builds. How original you guys can be is why I subscribed.
I agree
I really have enjoyed playing this build so far, currently in dawnguard about to reach Auriel's bow. I found the best aesthetics with ebony armor chest piece and daedric gauntlets and boots with vokun
what mods are you using?
***** the terrain pops and looks a lot better than vanilla, i havent been able to find one i like
+Alex Sitaras I think they may also be using Frostfall
+Alex Sitaras They're using Skyrim Flora Overhaul 2.3 and Verdant. Both are fairly performance intensive.
Omg this type of build was the best it was so intricate and detailed im doing this build next!!!
I'm working on a link from Zelda build right now and I'd love to see your take on this type of build as it is a little unconventional. from what I've gathered link is a light and heavy armor user and also a sword and shield/ archer. he uses a little bit of support magic, potions and enchanted weapons. he has access to powerful magic via items such as staffs but isn't himself magically inclined.
in love with this build already
Remaster this build.
Why? It's still good, I just use Restoration instead of Alchemy.
@@silentsun9392 its been like 3 years
Just use restoration and conjuration instead of alchemy and alteration and you're gucci. Use bound sword early game and stahlrim sword with chaos enchantment and absorb health late game for that better dps vs axe. Also 90 conjuration lets you get daedric items with the Atronach Forge
this is one of my all time fav builds I love the idea of using both magic and sword my breton is level 100 and is %100 resistance to magic my personal fav heavy armor is the blades armor
Yes! Blades armor is an early grab and usually I use it until I get daedric. Now I have discovered the amazingness of the Ebony Mail recently and use it with the masque of clavicus vile and I look super badass. my smithing is like 80 right now so ill be able to improve it even more than i already have. the 5 sec of poison damage is so cool... i just stand there sometimes and wait for lower level enmeies to get killed by my armor alone... its kinda awesome. although, the blades armor has one of the best looks in the game in my opinion. Most armor makes the girls look clunky but the blades armor is a perfect fit. looks good on the dudes too though...the only thing i dont like about it is that its the same armor the village idiot Delphine is wearing. lol... I just try and associate it with the orignal awesome Blades instead.
