Watching the news. Edmonton will see temperatures of -50 today. Stay safe and warm in these extreme conditions.

It was my birthday. It was so darn cold we made grilled cheese sandwiches and soup and didn’t go anywhere. Definitely a first for me, to stay indoors for a birthday.

Everyone needs to get a Small Generator so they can keep their Heating System working when the Power goes out, likely from too many Electric Cars charging when Energy Demand in cold weather is high.

Do people in Edmonton even have diesel cars when it can get so cold? Here, they wouldn't even start if it were -25°C.

We got diesel pickup trucks here and need to get plugged in otherwise they won't start at that temperature. It feels like -33°C right now.

@@maplesnaps Yeah, that's pretty cold. I watched the webcam footage, and that river of yours is completely frozen up. On Friday, you had something like arctic fog, similar to Siberian Yakutia :)

There are very few diesel passenger cars (trucks are another story) in North America

Oh the memories. That time, we were forced to go home early from my apprenticeship school. Yeah, without heater block in my car, i was forced to wake up every 4 hours
My dad’s car needed to be plugged in

Is it possible to drive a FWD car there when it's this cold or snowy?

Yes it is. Putting on winter tires helps alot to get a good grip on the road. I have been driving a small FWD car.. :)
