Love this dress!!! Saw already so many beautyfull patterns on your Channel. I was looking for a crochet wrap dress but cant find is anywhere. So thats maybe a cool new project 😍
Beautiful 😍 I have the perfect yarn for this dress. Thanks for all the summer dresses. Waiting for a Maxi skirt. Hint hint hehe😉 Love it ❣️ Love, Peace, & Crochet Be safe and well 💌🥀😘
We're sketching one outtttt! It's going to take a little bit cause we need to write this pattern, but it's definitely on the list! 😁💞 Love, Peace & Crochet!!
We use category 3's often, and we love to use them, but using smaller yarns would take a lot of time. We'd love to use more of them, but then we wouldn't be able to push out 2 patterns/tutorials a wee, BUT our tutorials can be made by using any yarn you'd like! 😁
It's such a beautiful pattern!! Can I change the waistband designa little bit? like, instead of slip-stitches on the back loop do half-double crochets on the back loop? I want to try it like this, but I'm afraid it will affect someway the rest of the dress (specially the skirt)
Thanks so much for the kind words. 💕 We wouldn't recommend diverting from Slip Stitches. Slip Stitches give the best amount of curve and stretch for garments. If you're having trouble with the slip stitches i'd suggest to use a loose tension and do a few practice swatches to ensure you got it down as best as possible. 😊
Beautiful dress 🥰 Making it now! Quick question about the first band with the back loop slip stitches: trying to figure out how to count the rows. Is one row just down the width in one direction? Or does "there and back" equal one row? I'm hoping I'm making sense 😅 thank you for all your awesome patterns!!
I’m currently making the skirt section, and I’ve reached around the 24:30 point in your video and I’ve gotten a little stuck. When you say continue the rows of back loop dcs “and connecting it into the base as we just did”, do you mean connect each and every row back into the occupied stitch? I hope that makes sense. I’m worried I’m misinterpreting and it’ll end up too ruffled. Thank you in advance! 🥰
Hi! I absolutely loveee this pattern and really want to make it. However im using 3 ply cotton yarn and i havent worked with such a thin yarn before so IM really struggling at the slip stitch part. Do you have any tis that could help? Thanks
This is very cute! I have a question, would category 3 yarn work too? I have this cute lavender colored yarn that is a sport weight yarn and the recommended hook size is 4mm, do you think it would still work?
Just wondering, I’m doing the portion to start off the basketweave at 5:51 where you do one single crochet row around the waistband and I just noticed mine seems to look a lot more puckered and just generally uneven as though there are too many stitches than there are rows of the waistband but I’m doing it exactly the same as you are and yours seems relatively even. Just wondering if there’s a possible reason for this?
Yes! That happens naturally! the Single Crochet's are wider than the slip stitch rows so that's why it fans out a little it'll all even out when worn though. Mine did that too. 😊
beautiful, im just having a problem with the length, it start and end in the same stitch but i dont see any ruffle. Maybe i am doing something wrong or i see it only after i finished it?
Questions! How big can the skirt be made? I have a hoop skirt, and I want to make this skirt big enough to fit over it nicely. I want to say the hoop is 100cm or inch. in diameter. If I remeber right.
Ohhh that's a good question! We don't have it at the moment so it's hard to say, plus depends on the size you're making.. but I think that if it's 100cm in diameter it should fit well, since it's done with a bigger hook. 😊
Do u slip stitch into ste stitch from last slip stitch place and next one on the skirt all around? (Totall of 2 slip stitches) or do u make 1 more every other row with 3 slip stitches?😅❤️
Love the pattern! But I hate the slip stitch belt portion 😢 is there an alternative to it? I keep putting it away after a couple of rows because of the slipstitch art🥺😭
Hiya, thanks for reaching out and glad you like the piece! We wouldn't recommend diverting from Slip Stitches. Slip Stitches give the best amount of curve and stretch for garments. If you're having trouble with the slip stitches i'd suggest to use a loose tension and do a few practice swatches to ensure you got it down as best as possible. 😊
I made the first portion of the top but it turned out too small even though the waistband was the right size. Is there some sort of shaping I am missing?
Hi, thanks for reaching out! Our patterns/tutorials give chain and row counts for a size small as a reference and helpful tips on where to measure for other sizes/fits to ensure you get your perfect fit, so it's a "measure along" technique. 😊 All of those tips are within the tutorial with visuals as well! Seems like the yarn you are using is 100% acrylic, and the dress, considering its design, is supposed to be worn in spring/summer weather. Will it not be too hot, though? Can anyone share what material they've crocheted it from and what temperature was it worn in?
Hi Ive been working on this pattern for quite some time now and I’ve had to unravel the skirt portion twice already because I keep seeming to find I’m having the same issue each time where as I’m working my way with the long rows to create the skirt I find that the length of my working row gets way too long and no longer matches the length of the beginning row. Is this an issue that others are having? I’m not sure if I’m supposed to maybe be decreasing by one each row or? Just wondering if there’s any insight for this problem
Absolutely! Here's another patter with sleeves! ruclips.net/video/uLoNGst4EXk/видео.html If you'd like the sleeves to be longer you can always make the base chain as long as you'd like! 😊❤️ Let me know if this helps!
Heyy! I recently started following you as i loved your designs. Im facing a problem with this one. I've crocheted 11 rows of the basketweave top part and decided to try it on to see how many rows i still need to do. But unfortunately, the pattern is stretching ALOT. The lenght of these 11 rows is not enough yet so im thinking as i make more rows, the stretching would reduce? Or is this maybe because the width is too short for chest? I shouldn't move forward if its the latter case. Please help me
Hiya! Thank you for the support! We appreciate it! & Just to clarify the Basket weave section is stretching to the point where it's not wearable? There will be some stretch to it, but it should be so wide to where it turns into a bowl off the body.. I've made that mistake. 🤣 If the "bowl" is the case perhaps it's the grip for the basket weaves, they should be tight enough to where you can hardly seen in between the stitches, but still some stretch to it. How's the waist band fitting? is that too wide?
@@TCDDIY its stretching so much you can see my skin alot betw the stitches 😂. My waist band is 22 inches. I tried that on when i was done and it felt it wasn't too tight nor too loose. Should i increase more rows in that band so the upper part would be wide enough then? What if doing that makes the band too loose
Cute dress. Beautiful pattern. But...BUT, that yarn ruined it. I feel it is way too "heavy" [the weight and color come off looking like a burlap sack]. Something light and airy would really improve the fit and drape (my opinion)
