Terence passed away 20 years ago today, here's a little compilation of some of his best speeches and bits, from the hundreds of videos I've edited over the years.
never knew terrence personally but still feel like im remembering someone close to me. his words and ideas live in our minds and i can only speak for myself but, they have become part of me and part of my life in a real way.
Me too. I took psilocybin once 14 years ago. I got the message and hung up. Now I listen to McKenna for the message. The message that my experience that day was real. The beauty of nature that I beheld that day is how things really are. Even though I may not do psychedelics again, McKenna helps me to not deny my personal experience with music, sex, nature, laughter, everything.
Person: If you could bring one person from history to a party, who would you bring, and where is the party? Me: Terrence “The Wordsmith” McKenna, in the Library Of Alexandria.
My favorite channel. Because this is where I met terence and set me on a new path over the last 3 years on breaking myself down so i can rebuild my union with my planet and her children! Thank you for all you put up here. Much love🙏🔥❤🔥🌏🌍🌎
Oh man as a biology student, I gotta tell you that your personification of Earth as a literal mother is no joke. It’s not new age spiritual babble. It’s how it really is. Study evolution and you’ll see that it’s a basic truth ❤️
42:11 Terrece McKenna nailed it, "if the expansion of human consciousness doesn't play a major role in the human future what kind of future is it going to be?"
Thank you, Peter. I truly appreciate your work. I know of Terence largely because of your channel. We miss him, but his ideas are becoming more a part of our world every day.
Terence mckenna put everything I felt into words and I no longer felt alone. His lectures brought me out of some dark times in my life when I had no meaning and energy left to move forward. R.I.P to the legend 🐛🦋
I have that with Alan Watts. Maybe because he's more substantial or concrete while McKenna is more conceptual or abstract making the latter a level up in the understanding of the matrix
It's hard to express how significant Terrence's contributions are to my journey. The potency of his words stems from true experience, not just a brilliance in his command of language, which is quit necessary in order to convey what he's seen and needed to tell us.
I remember meeting him in a dream once at his Hawaiian Home in a greenhouse garden observatory in a small private group of his inner circle and his Wife and brother Dennis were there. I remember feeling an honor to be among his company and we in a smaller group looked at this leather roll a young lad had brought to show us all and on it was a magikal seal of some sort with some kind of function the young man had not yet determined and we all "ooo'd" and "aaah'd" at this gift. That's the closest I've ever felt to knowing him on a personal level, despite watching and listening to his many hundreds if not thousands of hours of video and audio compilations from his beautiful life lived here in this time. I look forward to the place where I shall meet him again and share in the laughter of new experience. Live long and prosper fellow traveler's.
In the same way some people go rewatch old episodes of some netflix show, I come back to talks like this. Wildly entertaining, it pretty much is netflix for me.
I mean, the fact you can listen to Terence, any time you want, and be anywhere , even though he's not here anymore, is kinda proof of what he's always talking about.
its not just the knowledge that Terence had, but it was the way he processed and described it. Knowing the meaning of life would be pointless without Terence to explain it to me. Lol
T.Macs words live in my soul he speaks sutch a TRUTH that u can't escape it I literally cried my eyes out tonight on a couple grams of cubes not for sadness but for TRUTH thank u T.
I've heard many hours of Mckenna, and this is one of the best. I love the audio on the first part. That is the best audio of his voice I've heard so far.
What amazes me so much about McKenna is that, year after year, I keep coming back to his message! As I search, experience, and discover in my own life: revelations appear! Such is the nature of growing up.e And when I return to the wisdom of the Late Great Master, Terrence McKenna: his linguistic acuity resonates with the truth I've acquired from other sources! This, I think, is a telltale sign of True communication. McKenna speaks his authentic truth, and it shows.
My god, I love this man so much that I cannot even begin to put in words what his lessons meant to me and brought to my life. So much awereness, so much curiosity to look beyond any convenient view and to be ever open to learn from the infinity complex nature of experiencies. How much knowledge can we integrate to become more councious about our role in nature to transcend the material realm. Thank you so much, for making some scary ass mysterious universe seam like an adventure seeking for life love and truth. Sorry about my english if I said something wrong, but even my interest to learn english was catalysed by his fantastic lectures. Love you Terrence, love to all!
There's a celebration of Terence Mckenna April 4th, 11th and 18th going on. On April 3, 2020, we will premiere a never-released video of Terence lecturing at Esalen Institute in 1989. Terence will always been one of the greatest storytellers of mankind. Wasn’t even alive during his expansion. It goes to show, that if you feel like your creations aren’t getting the attention they deserve, it may be super important in the future, possibly after your gone. That’s worth it for me.
well done, I remember an Art Bell interview with TmK, it took me 5 or 6 weeks to get round to it, when I heard it, some 20 years back Terrance said it would be his last as he had been told 4 weeks if lucky ...it was like a gut punch ...weird took me ten years to get back to him, your channel helped, cheers
I fully admit I know nothing about the nature of reality and the forces at work in this system we find ourselves in. We are made of the universe. We are the universe waking up and realising itself. That is the single most amazing thing that I can comprehend. The universe is in a state of anaesthesia.
Man, I always thought thinking like this was kind of bullshit. But his opening line here is really spot on with the nature of emergence. Despite all the odds the universe is fighting entropy. The only question is if this increasing complexity is all just a beautiful dance that leads to null or if we can truly outsmart reality.

The first time I listened to the story about the pot, the music drew me in to believe it was all going to end in great glory... I didn’t even tune into the hilariously insane laziness of what he was actually saying. ... There’s all this food caked onto the bottom and it will obviously require some elbow grease to get it off. Instead he pats the sand lightly and begs the universe to do the rest. I’m left wondering how many times he came back with a dirty pot thinking he was a god and everyone was pissed. Let’s all take a moment to pity Terence 😂 But in all seriousness, I don’t pity him. It shows McKenna’s humility that he would tell this story. I hope to be that humble!
he has such a way of convincing me of reality, this was nice to make me not feel bad for being dumb tripping, its part of the exploration, you cant cast a spell if you never try :)
@@ChristianBang34 but the point of the story is literally the opposite…. The universe was reprimanding him for being in that state and not being able to get shit done as a result. He stopped taking psychedelics for years before he died, you know. Stories like this are likely why. It’s really quite a sad story about not being able to accomplish concrete things in base reality

"That the soul is actually an entity in history seeking to be born". Many think about the past when they hear words like soul and spirit. Ancient yogis and christian monks in the desert. Its not about the past. The past was more vague and the christians, what they did was hoping for the soul to grab them. The yogis were working on it. It might come into being more and more in our times. We take it for granted though and dismiss it, because you cannot point at it and not demand from. You have to come to it not demanding but giving like you give to a friend as Jung said. He also said that conciousness is a new invention of nature which fits Terence's phrase. We have to build soul up like a fragile bird, give birth to it. Sometimes i tend to romanticise the past, as if ancient people were fully connected to the soul but maybe it was all more vague back then, maybe it only dawned on them.
