update to 2016: Phytoremediation has been studied extensively since this video was aired and has been deemed appropriate in certain circumstances as more plants have been discovered that can "trap" the heavy metals for proper disposal techniques or that cycle the heavy metals into new non hazardous elements. #Phytoextraction and #Phyto-stabilization
