OUTSTANDING! I can just imagine when the old girl was new being assembled at the factory and what America was like back then not long after WWII. Sure would like to see her started up and driven on a test ride. Great restoration!👍👍
Brings back memories from my youth. My father bought a new 1949 3/4 ton pickup in the same color as this one. We use that truck hard in our construction work. Eventually we removed the pickup be and replaced it with a home built flat bed.
Reminds me of my granddad. He had one. Starter up beside the gas pedal. Three on the tree and the battery in the passenger floor. Wow that was a basic rust free job to start with. Nice you got a much bigger gas tank than the one behind the seat in the cab. Nice job in the end
I would’ve taken it before the rebuild! Beautiful. I’d prefer the Icon versions of these trucks. All the exact looks of the original but with modern mechanics and electronics.
thats thoe best restore ive ever seen , i was hoping to hear this run but glad i stayed and watched the pictures as she came up ! you guys did beyound awasome work on her , ....sounds crazy , but i could see how tired she was , then i watched as she came back to life .....man , how i wish i could do this !!!!!....marcus in west texas
I have owned a 52 Chevy 1 ton truck since 1964. I have kept it running and taking care of it but now, since I’m older than the truck by 20 years, I can’t do it any longer. I would like to give the truck to someone who would bring it back to life again. Find me on the bulletin board Albion, post office, northern California.
Outstanding job! Never seen anything like this before. The truck probably become better than it was originally assembled. Wish I have anything like this in the future.
Nice work. I have a 1952 1 ton Which I have worked on In my spare time but I don’t think I will ever get finished. I have owned this truck since 1964 and would love to see it brought back to life one more time. If anyone out there has the means and the time to take this on, I would like to talk to them.
Yes I like the stock condition. But I would have added 12 volt sys. modern brakes and tires. Move the ign sw. off the floor to the dash. maybe a over drive. Thanks for sharing.
my pops has one that use to be a work truck for his welding company, it was a flatbed that would hold a big welder on the back, were gonna get her singin like a song
sad music in the beginning, because it is sad to see it like that (abandoned), happy music in the end of video, because it is happy to see it like that (after the restoration)
Seems like a lot of effort to back a boat anchor engine and "lets die in a crash" drum brakes. Back in the late 50's, guys junked 216's and put in 235's. 216 is poor oiler.
Beautiful restoration!!!!
I'm grateful this wasn't cut and chopped up to be a rat rod.
A truly honest restoration kept stock!!!
Thank you for this support
This has given me inspiration for my ’49 two ton. It needs a lot of help, but I will get it going just the same. Thank you for the good example.
Glad it was restored with nice shiny new paint, and not a mickey mouse/ rusted sorry I mean patina restored
Loved the paint job. Hate the patina rat rod look. You gave this old girl the respect she deserves. Good job!
Thank you @Dan
Absolutely beautiful. I have the best memories as a child doing errands and weekend projects with my Dad in a red 1952 Thriftmaster.
Absolutely beautiful restoration! Was glad to see this old girl restored, wouldn't be able to stop smiling if she was mine 👍
We are glad, that you like it!
nice to see that this resto didnt some how morph into another brand and year
Thanks =)

Nice! Bone stock instead of some chopped up resto-mod. I have a 1954 just the same way.
Beautiful restoration so good to see the old girl get a new lease in life

I love these old pick ups in blue. You kept the paint job simple & classic. Wonderful job. Thanks for this video.
Had a great truck to start with, glad you kept it stock. Beautiful job guys!!!
Nice work, fellows! Great to see some iconic examples, such as this one, returned to their original and glorious form.
Such a beautiful truck looks better than new, looks like it came through a time machine from the past to the Future. A++++ video

Great when trucks were built solid
An outstanding restoraion. Also no lot of gabbing like on other auto restores.
Thank you!
Beautiful job. Nothing fancy just straight forward restoration of what it is a workman's truck. :)

I don't guess that you will be taking this truck out for firewood.
Like it used to 🤔
Awesome truck.
Great job. 👍
Really a beautiful project, good job, i hope in a few years i can found one Chevy apache ir 3100 , yo restore just like you did
Yes I like the stock condition. But I would have added 12 volt sys. modern brakes and tires. Move the ign sw. off the floor to the dash. maybe a over drive. Thanks for sharing.
Nice job looks the way it should
Beautiful.
thanks
Beautiful job on this restoration! Can you share how long it took? What is the color of the blue? Fabulous color choice!
my pops has one that use to be a work truck for his welding company, it was a flatbed that would hold a big welder on the back, were gonna get her singin like a song
What kind of media did you use when blasting the cab and fenders?
Great job ,the truck will still be around in 50 years. These "patina" rat rods will be in the scrap yard.
Perfect and beautiful 👍
Thank you!
Awesome just awesome . Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching
It's perfect 👌

I have a 1954 3100, what gas tank did you use?
👍👍👍😍😍😍
👍
Skinny tires on her way to Sunday school and the 5 and Dime.

Can anyone give me a supplier for that exact interior color?
Not a fan of the music. Everything else is great.
