    'Top Speed Germany' is a German RUclips channel for people who love cars.
    My Name is Max and I film while driving cars. No matter if they are old, fast, loud or electric. They need to be special! With several onboard cams, I record everything important to show you High-Speed-Runs, Acceleration tests ( 0-100 kph / 0-200 kph / 100-200 kph / 200-300 kph ) and test drives on German Autobahn or Road. Please note, Germany is the country of "no speed limit" highways. So in some places, it's allowed to drive very fast. But please don't try this if you are not an experienced driver !! Hugely impressive how a small and old Opel with only 75 hp achieves 190 km/h. I remember one of my first cars was a Corsa B with only 54 hp and it still reached 160 km/h without problems :) Those 70s - Mid 2000s cars are truly legendary...

      My first car was a Kadett E 1.4 60 hp with 4 gears. On level ground he easily hit the rev limiter at 190 km/h.
      It pulled really well even at low revs. That felt like a lot more than 60hp, great car and engine back then!

    • @stefanmarinov2864
      @stefanmarinov2864 2 года назад +8

      I am pretty sure it could do more. Look at the left thingy. Its still far from the red. It looks like he could reach 200+ km/h.

    • @captmcneil
      @captmcneil 2 года назад +3

      @@Luke.Skywodka The Kadett E was also very light. We had a 1.6 caravan (saloon), enough for a nice holiday with 4 people plus luggage - in short, your 80s/90s family car. The frickin' thing weighed less than a ton. IIRC, at least including a small trailer, you could legally have more payload than the car itself weighed.
      Regarding the Astra F, we had one after that, I learned to drive in them. Ours couldn't do much more than 170 or something, at least you didn't want to drive any faster. I recall these things getting really light on the front wheels at 150+
      Mechanically they are in some respects like old Mercs - the engines could do 300-500.000 kilometers. But wayyy before that, unfortunately, came the rust. I'm also not sure, why the Brits hated these things so much and loved their Fords. Yeah, the Escorts, and later the Focus handled a bit better, while the Astra F was a bit soft. But this was still quality German engineering. And both the Kadett and Astra were really safe cars for their time, passing tough offset crash tests long before Ford and the French put any money in passive safety.

    • @captmcneil
      @captmcneil 2 года назад +13

      @@stefanmarinov2864 Keep in mind the speedo on the Astra F was rather unprecise. In my experience you could subtract 10kph, even at lower speeds.

    My 2009 Ford Focus 1.6 Ti-VCT revs 4000 at little over 130 km/h, even though its engine puts out over 1.5 times more bhp. This actually makes this old Astra more suitable for long distance driving... Why do we need modern cars to be so complicated? Looking at this fine example, who needs 16 valves or variable valve timing? Not to mention all the real complicated stuff we have in our cars nowadays... :D

      А что она смогла?
      8% минус смело, а я бы далее 10% взял за погрешность в минус.
      Дорога абсолютно ровная, без подъёмов и поворотов.
      Хороший подъём, поворот и скорость упадёт до 120-130 км\ч
      По тахометру видно, как двигатель после 4000 задыхается. С 5000 натяг еще существенней. (Не ездил, что увидел по видео, при тактильных ощущениях, можно дать более точные оценки). Что говорит о его не совершенстве при 16 кл. и объеме в 1.6л.
      К примеру моторы на Карине 4А-FE, схожие по геометрическим параметрам, но кардинально отличающиеся от выдаваемых характеристик. 105 л.с. и почти 150 КТ
      Что позволяет схожий по весу и аэродинамическому сопротивлению выполнять более проще маневры и разгонять немного быстрее.
      Воздушная подача проработана более грамотно, где 5000 достигаются с лёгкостью и только на 5600-5800 начинается задыхаться. А натяг оборотов и вовсе происходит свыше 6000.
      Повторюсь, оба мотора имеют схожие геометрические параметры. Возраст. А по расходу топлива, даже выигрывает 4-й А серии. Я уж не говорю о ресурсе, где понятие «миллионник» в России, появилось именно с моторов А-серии тойоты. Хотя по факту, миллион они никогда не бегали.
      Но тот ресурс, что они преодолевали на высокосернистом топливе в России, даже ее снился немецким моторам на уже в то время, низкосернистых топливе.
      Вывод. Немцы никогда не умели делать автомобили. Все восхищения связанные с их автомобилестроением, отсутствие собственного и географическая плотность населения.
      Говоря простым языком. 100 человек живущих в близи границы Германии, имеют больше голосов, чем 2 человека, живущих на другом конце страны от денежной столицы, где даже в 90-х электричество с АПЛ подавали, когда в денежной столице уже вовсю облизывали грязные бмв и мерседесы.

    This engine was originally made for Opel Corsa A GSi and had multipoint injection (code C16SE) and had exactly 100hp. When Euro2 was introduced, the engine was downgraded to pass the required limits to 70hp (X16SZ) and few years later it came out with a newer ECU and gained 5 more hp resulting in 75hp.
    In late 90's the engine was rebuild to match Euro3 (Z16SZ) and returned to 70hp, but the mutlipoint edition returned as Z16SE with 86hp, but these were only for Astra G, Zafira A and Vectra B/C.
    But this engine was introduced even before Corsa was made. It's origin is in the 20NE engine, which was first real OHC engine. It replaced the Opel CIH (cam-in-head) engine, the 20E engine found in Opel Rekord, which was the first ever electronic injection engine by Opel.
    This engine is with few changes still used and is considered the most reliable gasoline engine ever made by GM.

    Anyway in India this car was poor man's Mercedes when it was launched in the 90s, only the rich and the powerful got it because above it was the Mercedes W124 E class. Anyway the Astra F in India had All power windows, power steering , Electronic ORVMs , Digital multi information display, Adjustable rear headrest ,ABS, Impact beams on all sides , Cooled glovebox and Galvanised steel unibody platform for Rust protection + Sunroof was also given in 1999 in the club variant .

Der zweite Astra F Caravan war das Sondermodell Dream(wie der hier in dem Film, erkannt an der Plakette an der Fahrertür), Farbe Rio Verde Grün. Gebaut wurde er in Bochum. Apropos: Beide Autowerke gibt es nicht mehr. Den ersten fuhr ich 3 Monate und bei ca. 21000 km Unfall und damit Totalschaden. Den zweiten fuhr ich 3 Jahre bis ich ihn gegen einen Omega B Limo eintauschte. In den Fz.-Papieren stand Höchstgeschwindigkeit 168 km/h. Als ich ihn abgab war die Höchstgeschwindigkeit lt. Tacho 190 km/h. Fazit: Beide Autos waren richtig schön zuverlässig, kaum den ADAC gerufen, kaum Reparaturen, von Rost keine Spur. Gegammelt haben sie beide in keinster Weise. Der Isuzu Motor war zwar rauh aber er hielt Tadellos. Im Winter sprang er ohne Probleme selbst bei -20 °C an. Nicht sowas was VW und BMW heute fabrizieren.
