Gravelly Point

Just upriver from DC's Regan National Airport is a little spit of land called Gravelly Point. It's something of a magnet for aviation enthusiasts, as it provides a great opportunity to watch the heavy air traffic come and go from a unique vantage point. The park attracts lots of regulars who also enjoy it as the waterfront green space that it is. Here are a few sights and sounds from a late summer visit to the park at the end of August, 2015. Pay attention and you'll see a brief aviation celebrity cameo appearance.
