- WWF Superstars is an arcade game manufactured by Technōs Japan and released in 1989. It is the first WWF arcade game to be released. A series of unrelated games with the same title were released by LJN for the original Game Boy. Technōs followed the game with the release of WWF WrestleFest in 1991.

This was probably one of the most fun arcade games I played growing up in my local bowling alley arcade. Soooo many quarters pumped into this...

Not really - it was pretty much on par with what late 80s arcade games looked and played like!
I always loved how the ref gets increasingly pissed when counting the last 4 seconds. 😂

This game had the most INSANE graphics, audio, and gameplay for its time. Playing this in the arcade was the best thing ever, especially with 4 players.
I suspect you're getting this game confused with WWF WrestleFest, which had 4 joysticks. WWF Superstars only had two joysticks.

Anyone else remember Hulk Hogan dojng a leg drop from the top rope and a big splash from inside the ring to the outside?
The ring was the size of a parking lot
Imagine in real life Hogan & Duggan beat the Megabucks with Hogan dropping the big leg off the top rope on Dibiase?🤣
They need a console port of this.
Way to win was not to let Andre get tagged in
And if Andre does get tagged, do all your fighting out of the ring and wear him down until he tags again. Then do the same for Dibiase and try and get him counted out.

Bossman for the belly slam and randy savage combo was good.
I felt this game missed 2 more characters that was needed from 1988.. should Akeem and Jake Roberts been added

why doesn't this game show up in my MAME emulator?? i tried the rom from different sites and none work.
My strategy was to pick Savage and Big Boss Man. Savage because he does flying clotheslines and Big Boss because he’s the one player that slams you when trying to do flying clotheslines. I.e. I liked playing as Savage, and I disliked versing Big Boss.
Hahaha!!.. this was me and my friends fave tag team. We would trash everybody with some disgusting combos!!

@@Alex-gw7of You just move your wrestler to the bottom ropes and he'll leave the ring. This game gives you 20 seconds out of the ring before you're counted out. But to reset it, you just move your wrestler in and out of the ring again. This is the only safe method of fighting Andre or Ted DiBiase.

Same makers of double dragon?
Yes.
Someone combined the two and made it so you can choose Hogan, Warrior, Andre, Savage and Boss Man in addition to the Dragons to beat up all the baddies in Double Dragon. There's videos of them on RUclips.

Is this the sequel to wrestle fest or is it the other way around?
Wrestlefest was the sequel released in 1991 and it was better.
I prefer this to Wrestlefest. There is more strategy to this - or at least I had the strategy all worked out. Wrestlefest just seemed to be about mashing the buttons and pumping in more money.

@@RyanMcCooe It's pretty easy to find emulation systems online, Pandora's Box is and example. I have this game on an original Xbox. You can find reviews for various emulators on RUclips from gaming channels.
