Kid and BlackStar’s relationship in both the manga and anime is gorgeous. They always pull each other back from the edge where no one else ever can, especially in the manga where ***SPOILERS*** they go into the Book of Eden and BlackStar literally proclaims that his life goal is to stand besides Kid and change the world with him. They have a fight that parallels the one Kid has with Blackstar but instead it’s Star that’s pulling Kid back from the edge and setting him straight again. Everything about them makes me smile

I love how when Kid didn't make fun of Black Star at all when he couldn't read Excalibur correctly. He also wasn't condescending or mean about it. Kid just basically gave him encouragement by telling Black Star that he almost got it right and was doing well and then gently corrected him. I don't know, as a dyslexic person that just means a lot to me. It's sweet. ❤
YESSSS BLACKSTAR AND KID'S RELATIONSHIP ARC IS ACTUALLY CONSISTENT THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE STORY they grow and progress and have their rises , falls and conclusion. This IS.... *cheff kiss*
There is a very fucking good reason this anime is my favorite. This entire dynamic, black stars insecurities, kid getting through his troubles of failing to keep the kishen sealed and trying to fix things and Maka and Soul working together and getting through the own problems, not to fucking mention Maka and Crona, the ost, the art style, tsubaki and the enchanted sword, Liz and Patty’s dynamic, Medusa and Stein. There is no other anime out there that was as mind blowingly god tier for when I first watched it. (Also death and his fake/real voice was amazing, coffee table flip)
oh lord, why tho nothing is going on; if anything, it was always Blackstar and death scythe that had the hot and bothered bromance that you definitely question more than you should. xD

(manga spoilers) ok long time deathstar fanboy here- i like to think Kid and Black Star’s second one-on-one fight against each other was the moment Black Star knew he was like genuinely in love with Kid, bc this scene becomes such an important moment for Black Star and carries so much weight between them in the manga. like, it’s always kinda been in the back of his mind that Black Star kinda had a thing for Kid, but *this* fight cemented his feelings just as hard as Kid shoved his skull into the concrete. (y’know, as most guys you have a crush on do.) on the other hand, i think it took Kid a little longer to reciprocate the same feelings bc Black Star’s always kinda gotten on his nerves, but he’s always still had a ton of respect for him. i think when Black Star rescues him from Noah’s clutches and tells him how he’s gonna help him build that perfect world he’s always wanted is when Kid really started falling in love with him.
