Beech, Pear, Fir and Yew. Yew Trees are native to Europe and a few places in Africa.

Doug I can't believe it took you so long to get to "head of hair" since you yourself have a marvelous head of hair!
Today might have been my fastest connections solve ever, which is nice since I struggled with wordle today. I got them in rainbow order with each one coming quickly.

Two mistakes today. Did the same thing as Doug for the hair category. Then it took me a while to realise YOU was a homophone for YEW. I remember we had YEW some days ago with the homophones for 'U'.

YEW wood has been used for longbows. A longbow was found in 1991 in the Ötztal Alps with a natural mummy known as Ötzi. His bow was made from YEW and was 72 inches long; the body has been dated to around 3300 BC.

Green, yellow, blue, purple. I got that purple was homophones but got stuck on fur. I had beech, ewe, & pare. So missed the tree connection.

I got all four right, no errors, but the category for Purple was not going to happen, and I'm going to blame the fact that they are not native to my country, so they don't obviously come to mind.

Interesting how he didn't consider the misdirection BEACH MAROON STRAND, how brains works with the priority of word associations and meanings can be so varied, my first thought looking at MAROON was the verb rather than the colour.
Also having LOCK and CHERRY next to each other made me think of -pick, others worked with it but not so well so I dismissed it.
Anyway, solved without mistakes, I thought the 'appointments' connection was a bit of a weak one.

ONLY got the P by default. I never heard of the Yew tree.

The Fortingall Yew growing in the village of that name in Perthshire could be 5,000 years old and is the UK's oldest tree.

🟩 actually saw the connection without being able to describe exactly why
    🟨 Red category
🟪 Saw "beech" as a tree, questioned if it was right, but it fit
🟦 Actually don't know how "head" is an amount of hair.

I suppose "head of hair" refers to an amount of hair, because it's like a full head of hair as opposed to a wisp or strand, which are smaller amounts? 🤔

I actually do have a favorite type of tree: Ponderosa Pine. It's bark smells like vanilla or butterscotch. There are a ton of them around Tahoe, CA.

    Beech is a food?

      @jerrywhetmoisture8910 3 дня назад +2

Beech is a type of edible mushroom beside also being a tree, so yes beech can be eaten, raw even.

Beech nuts are from beech trees.
