This might be incredibly extra, but if you want butter for every square of your waffle, you could get out of those silicone ice cube trays that make Itty bitty ice. Then melt butter and pout it into the tray to resolidify in the fridge. You could pop them out into a container and keep them for later or only make them the night before. Never done this before, but seems like it could work.
I was thinking the I Can’t Believe it’s Not Butter spray that my mom used to use…. Probably not super healthy but it does taste good and is easy to use.
I try to a minimalist as much as possible but here i am still watching Rachel test out products i would never buy unless i was actually in the market for one hahaha. I did just get a new instant pot because mine crapped out but i got the instant pot wide and loooove it so much more then the taller kind.
*Immediately adds the Ninja PerfectSip to my Amazon Cart for my fellow teacher friends because our coffee/tea is always either scalding hot or ice cold*
That’s very similar to an instaPot. The “preheat” time is coming up to pressure- and food is cooking during that time. Some things you can set for 0 minutes (like broccoli) and it’ll be done when it gets to pressure. Best way to boil eggs - in a pressure cooker. Only 1 cup water (cold) in to cooker, set timer for 5 minutes, let set for 5 minutes before releasing steam, then put eggs straight into an ice bath for 5 minutes. Perfectly cooked and even fresh eggs peel like a dream
I don’t have the pressure cooker you have but I do have an InstaPot and I LOVE IT! I use it at least 3-4 times a week. Cuts cooking time drastically. Cuts clean up. Food tastes Fantastic! Love it!
with the pressure cooker and I have an instant pot and I love it. Just because the recipe says six minutes does not mean it’ll be done in six minutes. You’ve gotta allow time for pressure to build in addition to those six minutes.
The Owala tumbler is my favorite for hot beverages because the spout is just like a Starbucks cup and no matter how far you tilt your head back, you don’t get the dreaded gush of liquid that spills out of your mouth.
Hi Rachel, it would make sense to try your waffle batter in another waffle maker to actually test if the recipe or the ninja waffle maker was the problem. Just as an accurate process of elimination that'll come in handy for another time
Also, the path of steam has to be considered. It looks like the steam rises up and comes out the opening in the top (through the entire waffle) where a traditional waffle maker steam escapes all around the sides so …that could explain some texture issues
I had a stand-up waffle maker from Cuisinart, it looked exactly like this Ninja one. My tried and true waffle recipes NEVER worked in it. Either the batter was too thick and didn't get to the bottom of the waffle or I overfilled it trying to make it a full size and it bubbled to the pour spout without fulling cooking (that's a mess to open!). I tried turning the temp down so the batter didn't cook into place before reaching the bottom, but then even if I turned up the temp after it was filled, it never seemed to cook the inside completely. Frankly, it took twice as long as a typical hinge-lidded version and produced far worse results. I came across a double flip waffle maker at goodwill about 6 months after getting the pour in version and it is significantly better. So, I don't think it was the batter, it was the waffle maker.
I have the ninja waffle maker and I find using the measuring cup that came with it and believe it or not using just add water pancake mix works perfectly
You're going to love the pressure cooker for things like curry & stew where you use cuts of beef that you usually slow cook. You can cook in 40 minutes what would normally take hours but, you get the great flavour that comes with those normally tougher cuts of meet 😃👍
Now that you have a pressure cooker, you should try the thing where you supposedly just sit an open can of condensed milk in the pressure cooker and make magic dulce de leche!
I've done it and it works! You do need water, and you need to remember to PEEL THE LABEL OFF, or else it'll get all over the inside of the pot when it steams off, and it is a PAIN to get rid of.
Came back to comment again that I agree with Christopher that sprinkles are bad. That's right, I feel so strongly about this I've commented on 2 videos!
I don't understand the obsession with sprinkles. Is it a Millennial thing? Gen Z? And birthday cake flavored things. I mean, I like birthday cake, but I don't need other things to taste like it...
Before you even start the ninja waffle maker I’m gonna tell you that we have had this one for almost a year and we love it. We have a 4 yr old and a just turned 7 year old and the sizes are perfect. I can give each of them one square and dad eats the other 2 while I make another. lol. Also LOVE that it beeps when it’s ready. So I can keep doing other cleaning or whatever.
I will stick to my instant pot. Canadian innovation. I can sauté, pressure cook, make soup, rice, yogourt and more. Plus the inner liner comes out for easy cleaning.
The inner lining comes out of this too. This looks less intimidating than an Instant Pot, but I'd rather have a well made machine over a more pleasant looking one.
Good news, Rach! There’s a great way to get butter in every little waffle square. Melt butter and pour it over your waffle!! 😂 I see we like the same coffee creamer. After Eight is the best!! ❤
You gotta try the owala smooth sip SLIDER! That one is completely leakproof when closed. I am way too messy of a person to buy anything that is only “splash resistant”
I just bought the ninja waffle maker. Love the simplicity and if you buy Kirkland pancake mix, use the waffle recipe on there. I've done setting two and three and turned out great.
I love the Ninja Waffle Maker! I've had different waffle makers and absolutely love how easy to make waffles and even better, its super easy to clean and put away. I think your recipe was definitely a problem and the batter was too runny. 😊
Hey! Did you know that Ember has a travel mug? I haven’t used it, but I’ve heard great things about it! I know how much you love your ember mug, so maybe you’d like that one to travel with when you go horseback riding & leave your coffee in the car. ☺️
I am watching your video from South Australia where it is currently 34C (93F) listening to you describe the snow and temperature outside and so wish I could change places with you. Current l we are in the middle of an extreme drought.
Using hot water will speed up the cooking time with the instant pot! It is heating the liquid up during that time so if you use hot water to start it will significantly cut down the time it takes to pressurize!😊
I'm so jealous that you have a blizzard going on we have had cold cold weather but no snow which is a waste of the cold temperatures. Love these videos
The reason the internet can't agree on a set cooking time for pasta in a pressure cooker is because, well, almost every kind of pasta cooks for a different length anyway (anywhere from 7-15 minutes, depending on the shape!). A good rule of thumb, I have found, is to cut the recommended boiling time in half, and then do a 5-ish minute "natural release" (don't let the steam out right away; wait 5 minutes and then release the rest of the steam). It does take some fiddling, but it's actually really handy once you get used to it!
I have the Ninja foodi all in one (which I absolutely LOVE) and it seems SUPER similar to the Our Place. Might be worth checking out given your love for all things ninja! 🤗
18:03 its just like the crockpot version of the instant pot. 😂 This is what it's called on Amazon for reference "Crock-Pot 8-Quart Multi-Use XL Express Crock Programmable Slow Cooker and Pressure Cooker with Manual Pressure, Boil & Simmer, Black Stainless" $170 USD and i love mine
Best thing we make in our pressure cooker is stew, Brown your meat in the pot, add in all the other bits you want (Dont cut them too small or they will turn too mush) then lock lid and put it on whatever mode yours says too do (Mine we use the Meat/Stew), about 20mins or so and ta-da stew! If you want a thick stew you'll need to add a cornstarch slurry (cornstarch and water) or gravvy package to thicken it up (leave the lid off at this point). Biggest thing to learn is nothing will "reduce down" as the water/steam cant escape with the lid on. So all the water in the veggies will also be trapped in your broth (hence why I think your onions werent browning, the water was trapped, try leaving the lid open a bit to allow the steam out when not pressure cooking )
I really love your videos. My me time on weekends 🤗 I also really like your jumper. Can't remember where it is from (do remember it's in one of your videos).
How cold and how much snow do you have to get for your kids to get a snow day from school? Asking from Oklahoma USA where we close for 2 inches and any time it gets in the teens.
The ladle would be good for right or left handed people. The others that have a pour spout are usually made for right handed people. Us lefties can use them but it is awkward.
Is the ladle good for non-stick cookware? Your black ladle looks more for non-stick cookware. I like Martha's concept, but if it would scratch up my cookware, I might occasionally use it sometimes on regular my cookware. I have more non-stick cookware than stainless steel.
Ember has a travel mug.. I vote we test this and by we I mean you haha I mean it’s your fault I have the ember mug. I have had the travel mug on my wish list forever. Also your editor is killing it! Well done
The ninja foodi is a pressure cooker, slow cooker, sear/saute plus and air fryer.. its great because you can pressure cook something then air fry for a couple minutes to make it crispy
20:49 I believe if you want to slow cook, you have to remove the stopper and the inside ring and lid to let the steam out as it cooks. This is because with these, you essentially pressurize everything. That is why the steam went crazy. That is how ours works😅
I use an Instant Pot for pressure cooking. It is a game changer and much better than a slow cooker for some things but not all. A couple of tips. I never do noodles in it. The times can change based on a lot of factors like how much liquid you have in it. I always do noodles the traditional way and add them later. If you overcook the noodles, it ruins the whole pot of soup. As far as releasing steam, most recipes say to let it come down on its own. It allows for more cook time and the flavors to come together. I will say that Instant Pots are not great for slow cooking so not sure if this one is the same. The way the heating works for pressure cooking is different than slow cooking. Technically you can do it, but it’s not the best. It can be great once you get the hang of it. Plus the machines today are so safe. You can’t open it if there’s too much pressure. It will shut off if it overheats. They are the best for soups and chili if you don’t want to wait 8 hours for the slow cooker. There are lots of ideas on Reddit and the internet for tips and tricks.
i only used a pressure cooker once. it was one of those old ones that have that metal arch on the lid to lock it in place, and something must've happened during the cooking process because we couldn't open it at the end. the pressure must've done something to make the locking arch get stuck in place, took 3 people trying a bunch of different things until we got it open after like 20 minutes. needless to say i never used that thing again and got rid of it when i moved places and haven't touched a pressure cooker since then, and it's been almost 10 years
Time for al dente pasta cut in half, less 2 min. Al dente 8 min....half is 4... less 2.... making total time 2 min for pressure cooking. And instant pot is WAY less bulky with more space.
So with the ninja waffle maker I have found a good ratio. I use the PC gluten free pancake mix and add in a bit of oil. And it works perfect waffles every time.
Yeah, that's just an Instant Pot by another name. I have the local knock-off "Instant Pot" style multicooker (I live in Europe) and it's absolutely brilliant for speeding things up, saving dishes, keeping things warm, etc. Whether that Our Place Dream Cooker is better than a standard Instant Pot or the more affordable ones would be interesting to learn.

Not valid in Canada 😔 that's disappointing.
Either the InstaPot or the Crock Pot instapot is so much more user friendly and less bulky. That Pot seems huge!
Instapot does all of that.
It looks the same size as instapot
This. An IP has way more features, made by folks who have focused solely on their product, vs. being skinned aesthetically by a company struggling for relevance.

Yeah InstantPot is the tried and true. Just an all around amazing product. That caraway one I can guarantee is not as refined or well made as IP.
@@froggy0165to me the outside looks the size of the 8 qt but the inside is only 6 qt. Very odd.
Applause all around for Rachel’s editor 👏👏👏👏
i thought that said apple sauce, and thought it was a weird thing to say but also went "sure, i guess they deserve a treat"
The travel cup without the possibility to close reminds me of what a sippy cup would be like for adults

The ninja is good for those of us in small apartments with not a lot of storage. I kinda want it now
I have to say as a left handed person the Martha Stuart Ladel seems amazing!!
Exactly what I was thinking!
Me too. I was thinking the exact thing when I saw it.
That's what I was thinking too! Finally a ladel with pourer that can also be used left handed :)
I hope I can get that here in Germany as well.
I just commented that!
Came back to comment again that I agree with Christopher that sprinkles are bad. That's right, I feel so strongly about this I've commented on 2 videos!
Agreed! I got these birthday cake protein bars and it has hard sprinkles in it. Totally ruined them 😢😅
I don't understand the obsession with sprinkles. Is it a Millennial thing? Gen Z? And birthday cake flavored things. I mean, I like birthday cake, but I don't need other things to taste like it...

Instant pot is Canadian? I didn't know that. Yay Canada 🇨🇦♥️
I was scared to pursuer cook for the first time too. But I love it now. It’s so quick and easy
I love that shirt so much!!!❤❤❤
I agree with you about the sprinkles Rach!!!!
Me too!
I think the popular owala is the one with the locking lid. I actually find it keeps my coffee too hot!
Zojorushi is the best travel mug out there! Keeps so hot and completely disassemble-able!
Perfect shirt for today Rachel! For first time pressure cooking you did fantastic! (Also yay editor!)
Ninja foodi does it all too and even more.. airfry, oven, slow cook, sous vide, yoghurt etc.. I have used it every day for two years
For pressure cooker pasta, I’ve found that half of the regular cooking time works (if it’s a range, go with the lower number).
and how much water? just enough to cover the pasta?
The Instant pot for the same size is way cheaper and easier to use.
Good news, Rach! There’s a great way to get butter in every little waffle square. Melt butter and pour it over your waffle!! 😂 I see we like the same coffee creamer. After Eight is the best!! ❤
I was thinking the same about the butter. It seems weird to put melted butter on a waffle, but it's going to melt anyway. 🤷♀

@teriemoreno8610 right?!
They don't sell them anymore, unfortunately. I want one so badly.

Did she just invent BUTTER SPRINKLES?! Yes, please!

Omg I had waffles yesterday morning and put butter in every hole!

I would just get an instant pot. More affordable and does more.
Ember has a travel mug.. I vote we test this and by we I mean you haha I mean it’s your fault I have the ember mug. I have had the travel mug on my wish list forever.

The ninja foodi is a pressure cooker, slow cooker, sear/saute plus and air fryer.. its great because you can pressure cook something then air fry for a couple minutes to make it crispy
