Saw a grey "Camh-ray" sedan of this vintage at work the other day. Looked to be in reasonably good nick as well, no rust, no body damage, interior was clean/nice. Paint looked a just wee bit worn but hell these cars were drivers, not garage princesses. Really would love a BRAND NEW V6/5 speed loaded LE version of this wagon for my daily driver. Make mine burgandy/burgandy tweed interior. Or light metallic blue/blue tweed interior. Or forest green/tan tweed interior.
The ‘87 Camry. You asked for more power. You got it! You asked for more room. You got it! You asked for a lower price. We’re like what the hell is this? Go take a hike!
I like to think the crew was snickering in the background every time John said Cam-ray.
Remember when he used to say "Day-Who" instead of Daewoo
It's how the Japanese themselves say it. Its a portmanteau of two Kanji put together.
“Cam-Ray!” Lol 👌😂👍I love this retro reviews!
I've got the 1991 sedan V6..and it's an absolute amazing vehicle with only 82,000 original miles.
It’s shocking that even by 1987 it had developed a reputation for reliability and quality.
I love the mud guards they used to have on old Camry’s.
@@cameronb3834 I love this Toyota Camry wagon 87 and 88
This is the version of the Camry that I could use right now. I've always been a fan of wagons and this one is pretty good. Nice and roomy. I like it.

I'm only here to hear John say Camray lol
There's someone around here in town with one of these, too. It was a bug out to see it.
Oriental family needs..... oh the 80s

I love toyota Camry wagon
The 88 k car wagon started at 7595
Toyota changed the brakes for 1988 giving it thicker rotors to help with brake fade.

That got me laughing and them in a nutshell
If you don't buy...the next clone will
Also 4wd on Japan market. Used this one in sedan , like it.
You paid extra for peace of mind.
My uncle had the sedan version of this car.
Toyota never did fix that nameplate ! 😂
Took John until 1990 to stop saying “Cam-ray”. When the Lexus ES came out he finally got it right.
FFS, John..................it's Cam-REE, not Cam-RAY!!!!!!
Strong disagree.
Sidenote: John's pronunciation skills are extra-ordinary.
CamHrayy
I had a first gen brand new CR-V and at idle it sounded very diesel like as well.
