I made my two great nieces (ages 6 and 5)(not sisters) a blanket. Both took time and effort not mentioning $$ for the materials. After I gave them their gifts their parents were like oh thank you. But only to later found out that one of the blankets were given to the dog to use and the other was used for her dad to use for a rag. Needless to say I was devastated by this. When asked why did they do this they just said “because you made it. If you had bought it we would have loved it. We don’t like homemade gifts especially from you.” Needless to say I was heartbroken 💔 over this and never made another gift for anyone because even though I was a newbie then and my skills have become much better. I also made a beautiful star doily for my mom which last Christmas only to find out that she sold it at her garage sale for $30 and the only silver lining was the lady who bought it was also a crocheter who said my work was gorgeous. But my heart was so crushed because of these things that my own family had done to me I had stopped crocheting for a long time. Only to pick it up again because my daughter in love asked me to make my grandson (due in late December) a blanket. It got great reviews. So maybe I will pick my crochet hook up once again and try to make some things for my grandson.
If they don't love all the hard work they done deserve it iv had some I thought were trash and they were like no no I love it can I please have it and that is the people who deserve all your had work
I’m so sorry your family sounds like a bunch of jerks, they don’t deserve your effort, I’ve made so many things for family and love hearing how my doll or toy has become they’re favorite and my family are always asking me to add projects to my list for them.

I love this video so much! My head is spinning on what to do first (for sure the stitch a day) because I just started crocheting less than two months ago. I am self-taught along with my RUclips “associates.” 😊 Oh, how I wish I had decided to learn with my 10yo granddaughter back in June because I want to crochet so many gifts. I am 72 years old, so it’s never too late to start working the brain with such delightful creativity. I am afraid of Amigurumi, but I’m going for it in 2024. It really depends, if the pattern you're looking for is written for bulky yarn then you could experiment with lighter weight yarns. But the good news is there are tons of patterns for lighter weight yarns! 🧶🧶🧶

If you or anyone can recommend a tutorial on how to make just the head of a bear for a key chain…I would greatly appreciate it. My granddaughter is obsessed with the Netflix series “Wednesday,” and the bear’s head that appears in the opening credits. I’ve not made any Amigurumi before and desperately want to surprise her. I love this video so much! My head is spinning on what to do first (for sure the stitch a day) because I just started crocheting less than two months ago. I am self-taught along with my RUclips “associates.” 😊 Oh, how I wish I had decided to learn with my 10yo granddaughter back in June because I want to crochet so many gifts. I am 72 years old, so it’s never too late to start working the brain with such delightful creativity. I am afraid of Amigurumi, but I’m going for it in 2024. I've done it different ways, but right now I'm using a cream based blush and a small short bristle paintbrush! 🖌️

I have a question I have severe Rheumatoid Arthritis and using bulky yarn hurts. Can you use smaller yarn to make amigurumi and it will it work?
It really depends, if the pattern you're looking for is written for bulky yarn then you could experiment with lighter weight yarns. But the good news is there are tons of patterns for lighter weight yarns! 🧶🧶🧶
