really amazing little pedal, given I like their selection of Drives and Preamps I've been waiting for a good JHS Bass pedal, unfortunately it's a bit out of my price range and we don't have sweetwater here :) For what you're getting it's worth the money though.

Not sure if the price is because of The Beach Boys logo or the JHS logo lol. Honestly tho, sounds good but I’ll stick with the tried and true Sansamp.
I thought the same thing. Especially since my Tech21 Bass Fly Rig (with the SansAmp) also has a very good tuner, which is very helpful in live situations. That's the perfect "This is all you need" solution.
I heard from a trusted source (Jokermen Podcast) that this Beach Boys doc (not the Beach Boys of course!) is crap, but this pedal seems fantastic!!
I enjoyed the demo. However in future videos it would help if picked bass wasn't the only playing style used. I play fingerstyle and slap, so I have no sense of how this pedal would sound if I played through it.

I think the point of the demo was to highlight how close you can get to the sound of Carol Kaye with this box, with it being connected to The Beach Boys and the documentary.

Just so you know, the player is BLIND. Him playing in this manner is a great advancement for his limitation.
We have way too many slap and fingerstyle videos already.
Love your show, but it would help so much if your players could play with a pick _and_ fingerstyle on all this lovely gear. At least getting an idea of that different response would be great.

Does anyone know how to actually buy one of these if you're not US based? Sweetwater don't seem to deliver outside the US and its exclusive to them? They recommend Thomann, who don't stock it.

I need to hear a bit of "pedal nerd" voice here, not in a bad way. I'm happy that JHS finally have again a "Bass" pedal... with 1000 units they usually SUBLIMATE from the sellers.. but in this case... Is NOT for every one, ( especially that ones already have 1 JHS Pedal )
4 me is basically the Pulp'n'peel with the Pandamonium (SVT side), EXPANDED in good way for the use, BAD for the space. (lack of time maybe? )
I have BOTH they sound AMAZING! but why this HUGE block for a better blend on the Drive section of the PNP and 2 controls more on the Pandamonium? with a Classic Double pedal they can create a MUST BUY even at the same price...

$499? I’ll pass. It’s sounds good but you can get a much better tone and capabilities in a Two Notes ReVolt for much less. You lose compression with the 2Notes but you get tube warmth and drive.
You can get an HX stomp or a ToneX for those money and you’d have a thousand more options
I dislike titles like 'this is all you need', they always imply bass should be a minimum, or that being a bassist who wants something extra whether it's an extra string, or a different effect is somehow diluting what it means to be a "real band player". There's enough 'Jaco only needed 4' and 'A P bass is all you need' nonsense out there.
This is how they get paid. Its up to the consumer if they want it or not. Free to decide.

@@Crispy_Music_2024 100%. The title says 'This is all you need' implying this is the baseline, and any want beyond this pedal is superfluous. But it's not what I need to make the music I make. That's what I'm pointing out, or do you not understand that?
