Couldn't believe this is a likely solution to my apparently non-operational aircon. I'd already watched videos about listening for movement of controls inside the mechanism when operating the dials & push buttons, but as others have said, it is so simple to do, it would be brainless not to try it. What can I say? Almost blown away in a freezing blizzard! Not quite perhaps but incredibly my AC is working apparently normally! Great job the person who had the presence of mind to think of everyone and post this video. What I find annoying however, is the Skoda dealer was quite happy to quote me £700+VAT to remove dash in an exploratory exercise that they could not even explain or assure me was the solution that would solve it for the money; in other words I could go this route, they might not find anything and I'd be sweating with a big hole in my pocket. For all I know this trick is a dealer trick which you pay £700+VAT for. Why aren't manufacturers upfront with owners on stuff like this. Whats the point of the manual if there's not much in it worth knowing because its so damn obvious. Red curved arrow points to door handle to instruct one how to puill it to open the door. Come on guys. Fill the manual with all the best tricks for common problems and share like this guy did. Dont look like shifties.
Brand new Octavia wagon. Less than 1000km and was blowing warm air on the passenger side. The dealer could not fix it. Your method fixed it immediately. Thank you. Very much appreciated.

I drove my Superb 280 miles last Thursday with 24.5’C outside temperature, thinking my AC was defective - very low air flow, and air not cold. - So after a search, I found this video, I didn’t think I had a “flaps” problem but being so easy I tried. The effect was like switching the equipment on, enough air to blow my hair up and after 15 minutes the air was down to 9.4’C (20.5’C outside) Being a retired Siemens controls engineer I’ve guessed what must have caused my problem… Last week, with the engine and ignition off, I decided to pump up my bicycle tyres from the boot socket, the recommended pressure was 5bar so a heavy electrical load, just as the second tyre was hitting 5bar I thought that I had blown the fuse as the compressor stopped, I checked the socket and it was OK? Strange? I thought no more about it. Thinking back of course the dip in voltage caused by my pump’s final few strokes (engine not running) had somehow caused the flap control for all flaps to reset to the wrong position! So the lesson that Josip teaches, if in doubt, give it a go. For “May Flower” if the reset works short term, maybe you have a poor electrical contact in the supply to the A/C controller that is being reset here. Giving a similar “low volts” drop that my heavy load did? Keep the good work up, and may the virus have already passed you bye.
Thanks, i had this problem after a collision, and i cant repare it. By the way, it gives me a clue to "repair" the fiat stilo of my parents, with the same problem and a lot of money spent on it; thank you very much.
this calibration was for both sides the same temperature which use the side with good sensor feedback computer will ignore the bad sensor flaps will open the same angle now
After changing clima compressor on Octavia 3 was it cooling even if AC was off...after this reset is this problem solved... Fuel consumption on neutral is 0.5 again. Thanks.

I'm guessing a bit, but if the auto start/stop for the engine is switched on, then when you're stationary the engine should stop (foot off clutch in neutral) when you switch on the AC, the load on the engine and electrics is required if the temp is too high or low and the engine will start. So it's working as it should.
For some reason after resetting it again goes back to not blowing air from the air vents. Any reason? Keeps going on and off and does not cool with the main blowers.

Yup, that did the trick. Passenger side middle flap was pushing cold air, and rest of them warm. Now it works again. 👍👌

Does this also help to improve airflow in the rear? I notice that my airflow in the rear is really little and often my car fogs up a bit due to it.

Check out if AC needs refill of gases. Also if it’s diesel you need to drive the car, at least 2013-14 models as they don’t have the heater.
