Fantastic video! I've got two questions: I'd like to use the Osmo Pocket 3 to do a nighttime motion lapse of the stars. I've seen that in auto mode, when limiting the ISO, the shutter speed will be able to be longer than 1 second. My questions: - Can you confirm that this way it's possible to have a longer shutter than just 1 second? - Does the gimbal stop moving while exposing? So for a 10 second exposure, will it move to the next position between exposures so the frames don't get blurry? Cheers!
As always, good stuff Vic. I notice the volume of Pocket 3 videos from across the web has nosedived a bit - just when the buying public is finally getting the opportunity to spend some quality time with it. I hope you continue to deliver with this one as your content is always first rate.
I've been looking at the Pocket 3 as a vlogging camera for my channel videos. It is so small compared to my cameras, that it would be great at not drawing attention. Now, with this timelapse feature I can really add variety to my videos.
Dammit! You had me so excited to think I could do astro lapses for a second there. Ive tried some astro with mine and didnt get good results. It would be awesome if I could shoot longer duration with this bad boy. Good video as alway my friend
Amazing video Vic, the motion lapse function is the main reason I bought the OP3. I understand the reason why you set the camera into auto mode for the motion lapse before dark as the lighting will change dramatically. Can you also share why you keep the setting at ISO800 Max? And it seems the shutter speed can't not be slower than 1 sec.
Cheers! Anything above 800 can introduce noise, depending on the setup and lighting conditions (if push comes to shove, I wouldn't EVER go above 1600) - Shutter can't go below 1 sec
shutter can't go any slower than 1 sec is exactly why i cancelled my amazon order of the op3 and keep the pocket 2 with nd 1000 for amazing motionlapses.
What if i just want the camera to record from predefined point 1 to point 2 normally in normal speed, while i am in the frame (but do not want to track myself, and do not want to do it manually real time from the app). So just normal automated recording and not a "lapse".
Crazy that you can only record 10 min time lapses at a time… so yeah, every 10 mins you have to hit record again, so that’s dozens of times to capture something like snowfall accumulation etc..

No worries. Thanks Darren

You wont regret it mate. Its pretty much all I use now. Low light capability of this is awesome. Very happy with it
For the day to night timelapse, do you remove the ND filter or keep it on ?

Cheers mate. Yeah. Mixed results here too. I’m sure they could squeeze another few seconds of shutter via firmware
Excellent! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.❤
Nice, what a great use to add some spice to my vids!!
All about that spice 🌶️

Just bought the creator combo. Great tutorial. Looking forward to trying them out.
Enjoy!
