So she quickly lets the nipple fall out of her mouth.....Lori is trying her best to get another mother to nurse her!! Lori IS being sneaky and "testing" these mothers slowly; Lori went for it this time and it was a "no, go"!! Lori knows better and she is old enough to be eating mainly solid foods and getting milk from HER mother at night...even tho Amari has ONE good breast that is just the cards Lori was dealt, other mothers are not responsible for Lori's well being; Amari raised Jack with that one good breast....it's just not good enough for Lori she wants more milk!! If Amari is pregnant the whole milk thing will be over for Lori permanently and she will have to eat solid foods for the rest of her life, Amber was weaned around Lori's age and she is fine. Lori is a strong little girl she will be just fine.

I just felt like In watching this one though that Lori had been there a while and likely had her feel because she didn’t seem to stop out of fear or because of any obvious sign of scolding and it didn’t look to me like she was testing the waters, but you might be right and that’s all it was. I do wish we could have seen more of their time before the video began. But that’s unlikely to pop up in another video to either confirm or deny. Also she does half ass grooming a lot around that area and mouths the lice or whatever is there. That can look like it too. But it’s all about grooming. Just to let you know so many times people assume that just because macaques are constantly grooming that they must be full of bugs and stuff but that is absolutely almost never the case! Macaques will groom for hours when there is absolutely nothing there to get..they will even appear to pick things off and will even appear to put said invisible bugs in their mouths and eat them when there is absolutely nothing there...for hours at a time. Because macaques do groom themselves and each other so frequently (it is one of their most time consuming activities throughout the whole day..just under foraging for food) it is extremely rare for them to actually harbor any type of infestation at all. Just because they move around outside in the grass and trees then yes, bugs do get on them..but they do not stay for very long and they never stay long enough to reproduce and cause them to be infested!! Macaques also remove any type of anything at all that is not supposed to normally be in their hair or on their skin..including debris, dirt, dry skin, scabs etc...everything and anything. They are likely cleaner than most people and are just about guaranteed to be cleaner than most house cats and dogs!! Surely you have seen monkeys climb onto a person (who is usually normally not going to have any lice or bugs in their hair or on their skin) and groom them endlessly for hours at a time ...but yet we should not assume it is because anything is there ..they just "go through the motions" much of the time..same with when they are grooming themselves and each other!

As i mentioned above..monkeys scratch for a few different reasons (one of the main reasons being emotions..they frequently scratch pretty intensely due to feeling nervous, frightened, excited, stressed, etc!) but "fleas" would likely be near the bottom of that list of causes! I just explained that when they are scratching or grooming that often there is absolutely nothing there (no bugs or parasites for example ) and why they hardly ever have any bugs on them!! Monkeys generally have about as many fleas on them as the average human...less in a few cases!
Lori got one in her mouth for a second. She’s smart, she knows if she goes for the vacant nipple she will get scolded so she tries to squeeze in on the other baby, hoping he will unlatch so she can get that nipple and the mom will think it’s her baby. I know it’s old but she is very intelligent and tricky.

Don't think Amari would have cared if Lori got a little extra milk from another female. Some of the fermales do nurse other's babies. Though Lori is old enough to not nurse, her body can still use the nutrition as she was not healthy for the better part of her young life.
nobody Uknow She still is Young and with her brain injury she's way behind time she is seven and a half months old but they nurse their young up to 2 years old. Or longer in some cases of being the food is plentiful here they start to wean early. Because mothers are fat sloppy pigs and lazy.

When they are scratching that does not mean that she has a bug or something on her ..mainly macaques scratch when nervous or upset or emotional...they also scratch immediately after being groomed because their hair has been pulled or moved around in a position that it does not normally lay. As far as the assumption that she is being groomed because there are "bugs" or something on her causing her to itch that is ridiculous!

God she wasn't pregnant she had end stage diabetes and died just 3 weeks later she was almost blind here

Also she does half ass grooming a lot around that area and mouths the lice or whatever is there. That can look like it too. But it’s all about grooming. The VOs keep perpetuating this and it just is so rare
Lora M ughhh...the "lice"!! Just to let you know so many times people assume that just because macaques are constantly grooming that they must be full of bugs and stuff but that is absolutely almost never the case! Macaques will groom for hours when there is absolutely nothing there to get..they will even appear to pick things off and will even appear to put said invisible bugs in their mouths and eat them when there is absolutely nothing there...for hours at a time. Because macaques do groom themselves and each other so frequently (it is one of their most time consuming activities throughout the whole day..just under foraging for food) it is extremely rare for them to actually harbor any type of infestation at all. Just because they move around outside in the grass and trees then yes, bugs do get on them..but they do not stay for very long and they never stay long enough to reproduce and cause them to be infested!! Macaques also remove any type of anything at all that is not supposed to normally be in their hair or on their skin..including debris, dirt, dry skin, scabs etc...everything and anything. They are likely cleaner than most people and are just about guaranteed to be cleaner than most house cats and dogs!! Surely you have seen monkeys climb onto a person (who is usually normally not going to have any lice or bugs in their hair or on their skin) and groom them endlessly for hours at a time ...but yet we should not assume it is because anything is there ..they just "go through the motions" much of the time..same with when they are grooming themselves and each other!

As i mentioned above..monkeys scratch for a few different reasons (one of the main reasons being emotions..they frequently scratch pretty intensely due to feeling nervous, frightened, excited, stressed, etc!) but "fleas" would likely be near the bottom of that list of causes! I just explained that when they are scratching or grooming that often there is absolutely nothing there (no bugs or parasites for example ) and why they hardly ever have any bugs on them!! Monkeys generally have about as many fleas on them as the average human...less in a few cases!
Lori got one in her mouth for a second. She’s smart, she knows if she goes for the vacant nipple she will get scolded so she tries to squeeze in on the other baby, hoping he will unlatch so she can get that nipple and the mom will think it’s her baby. I know it’s old but she is very intelligent and tricky.

Don't think Amari would have cared if Lori got a little extra milk from another female. Some of the fermales do nurse other's babies. Though Lori is old enough to not nurse, her body can still use the nutrition as she was not healthy for the better part of her young life.
nobody Uknow She still is Young and with her brain injury she's way behind time she is seven and a half months old but they nurse their young up to 2 years old. Or longer in some cases of being the food is plentiful here they start to wean early. Because mothers are fat sloppy pigs and lazy.

When they are scratching that does not mean that she has a bug or something on her ..mainly macaques scratch when nervous or upset or emotional...they also scratch immediately after being groomed because their hair has been pulled or moved around in a position that it does not normally lay.
