I haven't used Copilot yet because I had issues with my payment. But I would like to know, does Copilot have something like Cursor Composer, which uses an agent to create files, write codes in them, and run commands all by itself? I'm asking because I only know Copilot as a code completion AI that predicts the next code you are likely to write, similar to Codeium.
I would say with the update, its just as good as Cursor Composer for generating code while providing deeper GitHub integration. In terms of features, its just as capable with custom instructions and multi-file editing, same as Composer. But time will tell what differentiates the two tools. And as with most things, with features being equal, integration will probably be the most important factor. So people/teams will probably choose tools based on how well they fit into the existing workflow or whichever they're more comfortable with using
I have both. Vscode still has a little ways to go. DX in cursor is better and faster as of right now. Plus the way cursor replies to you is more human friendly than vscode’s roboting replies. I’m sure vscode will get there though.. but right now cursor is a lot better than vscode
@gamedeveloper1000 only 50 messages for the premium models (gpt4o, claude, o1) and 200 messages with lower models monthly. If youre looking free viable solutions, Codeium is much more generous. With 10 dollars you get unlimited usage for all the premium models too
Great video! One tip, though: change the background you used in 3:05, it's too busy... Keep up the great work!
Thank you for the tip, much appreciated!
@@AICodePathways Yes almost had an epileptic crysis ... :/
@@clementvanpeuter1742 My apologies. Will make sure not to use that background again...

They have an editor mode that is comparable to Cursor Comopser (only in VSCode).
Glad co pilot is free for students from github education
Yup, very nice perk.
Is github copilot as good as the Cursor's composer to generate code or is it more adapted to code completion ?

WOW, I was thinking to move on cursor. Looks like I don't need to.
It's a very exciting development!

i can't use this in my vscode although i have an active Copilot Individual subscription.
i cant change model
How about creating a beginner tutorial that shows a simple example how to use it!
Great idea, I'll make sure to do so at some point in the future.
Github copilot is paid. Cursor has a free module.
What kind of limits in the free personal tier in Cursor did you encounter?

@ Still in the two week free period. Everything seems to be available.
if its free, you are the product
Yeah it’s free for 2 hours of coding, then 10 min wait times for responses. Otherwise it’s 100% more expensive
Natural != National
Thanks for catching that error 😅
does microapps support python?? like streamlit ??

Glad to hear that!
Please consider removing background music it is hard to watch the video
Thank you, will remove/make more subtle. Appreciate the suggestion!
Yeah and cursor is 10$more :)
