Ok So, this is based on very rough estimates basic physics formulas, and assuming that we have an indestructible cannon, cannonball, and all energy from the TNT goes straight into the cannonball The speed you generally need to reach to escape into orbit is generally 17600 mph, but because we're shooting a ball rather than launching a rocket, it would be safe to say that we should fire it off at a 45 degree angle at just under double earths escape velocity which would equal 50000 mph Next, we'd need to find the kinetic energy of a cannonball going Mach 65. Converting that speed into the regular metric standard, (22352 meters per second) and using the cannonballs average mass of 5.5 kg, and plugging that into the kinetic energy formula, k = (1/2)m*v^2, we get a kinetic energy measure of 1,373,932,736 joules. The average stick of TNT produces one megajoule of energy. That would mean you need about 1374 sticks or TNT. As the average mass of a stick of TNT is 190 grams, it would take 261,060 grams of TNT or 261.06 kg. This means it would take 0.287769391 US tons of TNT to send that cannonball into orbit. As a shot-in-the-dark guess, you could probably take 30 times that under realistic conditions (with a still indestructible cannonball of course) and send it into orbit, as most of the energy would escape without affecting the cannonball. let's just say that 5.75 US tons of TNT would throw your cannonball into orbit (and eventually have it turn into the single longest artillery shot ever)

Baron, i know the beta is over now but if you see this comment, this is really interesting, if you go to the edge of the map and after your ship sinks if you keep swimming eventually you drown, but instead of going to the ferry of the damned, you see a flash of someone being dragged down into the water by the kraken, my friend told me about but I don't know if he is lying or not but can you check it out if the beta re opens on Friday?
By the way the reason your boat is taking damage is because there is a crab a giant crab under the boat and it latches to the boat and puts holes in it the further you go it goes faster and faster until you sink it’s impossible to get to an island outside the map.
I really hope they´ll add some more stuff to the shipwrecks. I mean you can occasionally find treasure but really not that often. It´d be nice if you could get maybe some unique costumizables for ye trusty vessel, or maybe even new songs to play. I mean, currently it´s a high risk with a low chance of any reward.

Theory: I mean this is kinda of small map so this could mean that something happened like a crazy thing that killed a lot of thing that why the water turn red and some radioactive waste kill the boat
So, all it does is turn the area red, sink the ship, and a mermaid appears with a white beacon that will warp you back if you try to get near the sinking ship, and then you wait for the sharks to kill you.

Other boats can't float on it so it is inpossible to win the fight.

I've seen a video where they did this, and they simply died eventually, nothing unusual about the drowning animation/what you see
