My grandpa uses this to wash himself and when we tell him it’s for clothes he doesn’t care
It must be his fave!!!
Yo my mom used to make me wash my body with this growing up! Wtf no wonder it smelled nasty and chemically lol
Wait my aunt uses this also I honestly thought it was body soap I wash my hands with it at her house 🤦🏾♀️
@@najmatos3555 same every time I would go over there I would use it or if I have something strong on my hands I use it and it makes the smell go away
I thought that soap was for mechanics
You can shredded it and throw it in the laundry machine, it will dissolve and leave the clothes super clean.
I do this
That's what I use!
Barb:. How much of this do u put in the washer and do u put regular laundry soap in with???
@@Thatsright-tr2ks Yes! That's what I'd like to know 🙂
@@FULLtinyHOUSE I meannn, I guess we can Google it 🤣
This soap is what I use to make my homemade laundry soap. A box of the flakes, a cup of Borax, and a cup of Super Washing soda can make a 5 gal bucket full of liquid soap. You only need a Tble spoon per load. 1 bucket full can last me a year.
:O cool
is borax as same used on caram board wouldn't that be deangerous for skin
@@asiartandcraft yes borax can irritate your skin but maybe this guy has tough skin or the amount used isnt enough when spread to a gallon
edit: nevermind he uses it for laundry, its fine like that for sure
It doesn't irritate as it is highly diluted when making it this way. It works really well. I've been using it for years
Me in the bathroom making potions while my mom’s gone:
Great for period stains !! Been using this for years staple in the mexican house hold 😁
Peroxide is great also
Yes, it's great for that!!!
Ooooh, that's a great idea! Tfs
So is salt
Mayra Gradilla- THANK YOU!!!!!!
Mom would shred this and blend Zote with Borax & Arm & Harmer Super Laundry Washing powder to wash our clothes. When I became an adult I switched to Tide. After I was laid off...to save $$, I went back to homemade soap. What a difference it makes to have a dryer and not have to line dry the clothes! They are cleaner and soft!
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️
Tide is chemical warfare, anyway. I can’t stand the smell of Tide and Gain. Friends that use Tide will literally smell our house up when they hang out for a couple hours. It’ll take a day to air it out. No joke.
@@Bb-bk5xg Same here, I run my air purifiers on the highest setting for 30 minutes and that does the job👍🏻

I use it for my beauty sponges.
It’s true and I used to buy the $40 beauty blender black soap 🧼, NEVER again after cleaning my brushes. This is AMAZING.. I had no idea until two years ago..
Girl. Best thing ever. Scrolled to see if someone mentioned this exact thing. Super cleans brushes.
I've been making my own laundry soap for years. Here's the ratio, 1 finely shredded bar of zote, one box of washing soda, 1 box of baking soda. Mix, use only a teaspoon per load, no more then that. If you use white cleaning vinegar in your laundry as well, you don't need anything else to do your laundry, unless you want to use a stain fighter like oxi clean and shout.
I do that plus 1 box of borax.
What does the laundry smell like? I love the smell of Gain or Tide detergent
@@NotJessH Citronella, but it’s not a really strong scent.
Whats the difference between washing soda and baking soda? I guess i could google but id prefer human interaction :) ty!
@@CH-sl1ug I’m not entirely sure, but you can eat baking soda, brush your teeth with it, stuff like that, but you shouldn’t ingest washing soda.
Great! Now the price is going to raise

@Ms Palmer 🤣🤣🤣 Yyep!!!
Yup
🤣
Stock up.

Oh those detergents bring memories back, they are classics in Mexican culture.
This soap is a staple in my Mexican household
Zote soap is amazing at removing stains
In Latam: Jabonzote
In USA: Zote soap
One time my mom went to the store and asked “tienen jabón zote?” And the guy said “no, solo Jaboncito” lmao
All you did was translate this? Thought it was gonna be something way different like
Latam: chiflado or garrote or el sop
USA: Zore soap
@@ceezb5629what happens is that in English the name "Zote soap" has no other meaning than that, that of a soap named Zote by the company that produces it. But in Spanish there is something called “augmentative” which are, basically, suffixes that make the object we are referring to have a greater size or importance. By applying an augmentative to the word “jabón” it becomes “jabonzote”, which is pronounced exactly the same as “jabón Zote”.
In short, “jabón Zote” is a play on words that implicitly refers to the fact that the soap in question is large.
@@ceezb5629 in Spanish Jabonzote would mean huge soap in English makes no sense
In Portugal we have a version os this called “monkey soap” sabão macaco, and also white a blue soap and yes people would wash themselves with it to; also their hair.
Seems we have a lot in common with the Mexicans. 👍
Thanks for sharing!
I've always wonder about this soap. It is inexpensive. But never did understand how to use it, and there is no real instruction on the package. It smells so darn good, though.
The point of the video is that its super cheap. Some places it's less than $1 but it will be 25 bucks because of tiktok
I keep a bar in a zip lock bag Wet... when I have a stain I take it out and rub it.. toss in laundry .. its like a pretreatment also... we love it
In Mexico people bathe with it specially in areas where is very hot and humid because it keeps you dry
This is fascinating! I’ve developed a hormonal sweating issue and I want to try this.
Do they bathe using the white or pink zote?
But that doesn't sound good.. That sounds like it would be blocking/clogging pores & sweat glands?
As someone who lives in very hot sunny Florida, I'd love to know if it really did that or not...
Just scares me. Anything that is "so good at stripping chemicals off" anything (skin, hair, clothes) -- HOW could those chemicals be good for you? My brain just keeps screaming cancer, lol, but I'm also hella paranoid 🤦🏻♀️
@@Witchy-Wonderland it doesnt clog pores, it strips the oils and moisture from your skin, which isn't much better, but you gotta do what you gotta do
I have used this soap for 60 yrs along with Octagon which no longer exists.

I also make make my own soap ... because the soaps in the markets are nothing but detergents

How do I use it?
I was thinking about octagon the other day
How do you use it on laundry? Rub it in? Shred it in the washer? Inquiring minds want to know.
I've seen people just throw it into the wash. When the wash is over the take it out and put it in a zip lock bag.
I never knew how it worked until now.
You grind it up and mix it with other cleaners too.
Thanks for sharing Valeria!!!
I do as well want to learn
I’m a mom of 3 toddlers and this soap is the only thing that removes stains and puts clothes looking new. Takes out grease, chocolate, avocado and blood out. But use it with hot water scrubbing (use a sponge) directly on the stain, when done scrubbing by hand toss into washing machine so machine removes all the soap out. I tried everything on the book to remove stains those expensive products and soaps and it was a huge hassle and they work but you have to put in the product I’ve and over again. Zote is the best shit.
Exactly what use on my grandchildren clothes…….Zote for stains
I thought it was for hands & body. That’s a good idea to cut it! That’s a great idea for guest soaps in the guest bathroom or the half baths.
I think it's great for everything.
I Wudnt have my guest ya using that without knowing !
My mom became allergic to Zote after using it awhile. Don't overdo it or you'll get sick of it.
Oh no....
Allergies can develop at any time to pretty much anything you’re in contact with. You might be fine for bee stings your entire life, then *bam,* you’re 45 and get stung and have to hit the ER. I do think it’s usually to things you have repeated contact, though.
Rancho lifestyle 😊😊
Definitely
Used to get the pink stuff from charity. Had a large box of it used to use it to hand wash clothes. Like the smell of it. Though it brings back bad memories so I don't use it.
Some scents from our past are painful...makes you feel it right in the chest.
my brother used to use this soap to clear his acne and it actually works lol
It does bc I've used it for dark marks
"I’ve heard that the white bar is excellent for keeping white clothes super white."

The font on the zote soap is so satisfying
What is the hack though? Zote is amazing but I didn’t see any hacks 😂😂
I haven't tried this soap yet. I have used Fels Naptha soap for just about any hard to clean stains and it is AMAZING!! You can bathe with it too. A friend in HS was super allergic to poison ivy, and her doc told her to soap up really well with Fels, then let it dry before dressing. It TOTALLY worked! She had to basically spend her summers inside because she would start breaking out within the first 15 minutes she was outside. Fels Map the saved her and her summers!

I can smell this video LOL.
Zote is the goat! I'm surprised ppl don't know about this soap! They look for others that are marketed better and spend more money on it too smh
I guess people assume if it's being sold for so cheap, it's probably made cheap, with questionable cheap ingredients. Same reason people don't buy or trust certain things from the $1 store.
BEST SOAP TO WASH MY WHITE UNIFORMS 👍
Yes...I bet it keeps your uniform sooo white.
Does it disolve in the water?? Do you cut up pieces and throw them in the washer?? Never used the soap, but now that everyone says it works good for white linen, I'm trying it.

I make laundry detergent with this. It's fabulous. Cleans beautifully, great soap suds. Saves money 💰😁
So when it comes to modern washing machines you actually don’t want too much suds because they often don’t rinse out all the soap if there’s too much. You can end up with soap buildup which can be really irritating to skin.
