Like him or hate him JJ and Dallas rnd 1 went well - the front office said JJ is our guy and proved it
I agree that the Turner selection at #17 was an A+, but for a different reason, basically for unintended consequences! They undoubtedly traded for the #23 pick in the 1st round to provide the flexibility to move up for a QB. When that didn’t materialize as the Patriots, Cardinals, and Chargers decided to stick & pick, along with the run on QB’s, receivers, and OT’s that unprecedentedly pushed all stud defensive players to the 2nd half of the 1st round within reach of the Vikings at #23 making it feasible to move up while using the draft capital they didn’t need to use on a QB. So although no one saw this coming, the pre draft trade for a mid 1st round pick turned out to be a brilliant move even though the result wasn’t intended!
How do you know they were trying to trade up for a QB?
Because that’s what the media and experts were reporting from the time they got the 23rd pick!

In terms of fan service, A plus!! In terms of needs? Time will tell, but I think it was a very SMART draft, and Kwesi is proving himself to be a great GM. SKOL FROM WYOMING 😈😈😈

1. He's 21, and the kids still have time to grow and bulk in size.
2. He cut weight going into the combine in order to improve his speed.

A+ with the two firsts! However because they did not have a 2nd and 3rd rounder that smarts a bit, however, a A+ for the Alabama field goal kicker and a solid B or B+ for the rest of their choices. I would give the Vikings a B+ overall that could turn easily into a A if a couple of the latter choices pan out!

They didn’t address interior offensive line or interior D-line or 3rd WR. Horrible idea to draft Kicker before G/C/DT/WR.

Our day 3 picks were all scout picks. Kwesi asked the scouts to each pick 1 player they scouted who the felt was a must have! Their guy. The guys we picked are not only position of need guys but they were our scout favorites! I’m stoked!
1. They drafted 2 OL and a DT. 2. WR3 is not a need for us, Powell stepped up big time for us last season as WR3 when JJ went down. It's obvious the org trusts him to be serviceable. With the best WR1 in the league, a great WR2 who will only get better with Addison, a stud TE, and a great pass-catching RB in Aaron Jones, we will be set on a receiving core this season.

Dallas Turner is 6' 4" not 6'2".

Maybe first franchise kicker in your lifetime but go back and study ALL Vikings history! Freddy Cox was the best all time. Fred played back in the days of Fran Tarkenton and was a perennial 100 plus point contributor. Kicking style was way different back then but Fred was nearly automatic.
I would also add Gary Anderson to the list of Viking's franchise kickers. 35 of 35 on fgs and 59 of 59 xpts for 164 total points is still an amazing year.
Blair Walsh first season was a record
I grew up watching Fred Cox, so of course, I thought he was pretty good--BUT, Fred Cox, even though he was All-Pro, made only 62% of his field goal attempts in his career. The kicking game was different then, but nowadays, a kicker would be shown the door if he made only 62%. Fred invented the Nerf football, according to Wikipedia, so he did all right there.
If we only could’ve got Cooper Dejean…
I like Khyree Jackson. He will be our starting outside CB. Murphy can kick to the slot now. Awesome pick! Plus we got McGlothern as a UDFA! Wow! He’s a legit player. He will make the roster.

A clown said the bears will be a dynasty 4 years until they have to pay Caleb Williams.
Teams don’t win on talent alone.
They need coaching that knows how to scheme and develop. The Bears have shitty coaches.
They will be a team the has very up and down games. The talent will bleed through at times but coaching will let them down. They aren’t a winning culture. They don’t know how to be a winner.
I don’t sweat the bears. The Packers are still the ones to watch. The Lions won’t win the division this year. It will be the Packers. In 2025, it will be the Vikings! Skol!
