    I've watched a few of Evan's videos, because as a Swede I find it fun to watch others react to Swedish things. But that duvet thing and not wanting to do things because it's a waste of time better spent doing other things... Speechless. Just do it, you're a grown up!

    Wettex harbor a lot less bacteria then one would assume but is still by far the most bacteria rich surface in a kitchen. But that is true regardless of what material your dishcloth is made out of. But as long as you know how to clean it, when to use it and when to throw it away it really isn't a problem.
    As an example you shouldn't use it on meat juices. To clean it you simply boil it and to keep it clean you allow it to completly dry out between uses. Most importantly if it smells like old food throw it away and get a new one.

      No, don't throw them away. Put them in the wash, hot with your towels and stuff . I have ones that are many years old. I use them a few days and then trow them in the wash basket

    An Arab friend had set up a shelf in his shower and when I started talking about not making holes in the wall's moisture barrier, he went crazy and started shouting "why do Swedes always know such things!". It is not as if I have ever built a bathroom, but I think that Swedes have a greater understanding of many practical things because we are expected to do more things ourselves than in many other countries. Even many who can afford to pay for labor in the home often find it a little embarrassing if it can be done yourself.

    I work as a janitor in Sweden, I use the Wettex towels, I also use cloth towels to clean everything else as well, they're washable in 90 degrees Centigrade, which will kill all Bacteria, so every day I send all the filthy cloths to the guys doing the laundry and they send me clean ones every day, I go through maybe 15-20 cloths per day. Americans, you should really look to Sweden and Finland for cleaning tech, we're the world leaders in it.

    Just had to stop the video at the fashion statement... Swedish street fashion is like one of the most influential street fashions in the world. This started because brands like H&M using Swedish teens and 20s something to test what would sell because of the fairly stable buying power of that age group here. If your street clothes don't sell in Stockholm they WILL not sell anywhere, this is a known fact in the fashion world. This is why Stockholm is always one year ahead of the rest of the world in fashion.

    Yeah, there is american music playing at the stores. As well as swedish music (one of our biggest exports as a sidenote + spotify just to further push on how important music is here) and british and norwegian and spanish. And in the cinema it looks the same. And fashion is for sure inspired by american cities like LA and NYC, as well as other cities in the world such as Stockholm (scandinavian minimalism, HM and so on), Copenhagen, Milano, Paris, Tokyo. Like... Sorry. That argument does not fly! ;D And I am for sure not saying that Sweden is the greatest country on earth, but neither is the US. We all can do better for our selves and others

    It has never crossed my mind to wear my outside jacket indoors. I also get pretty cold sometimes so I actually have a knee long puffer coat made to wear outside that I have dedicated for indoor use only. So if I come home feeling cold, I take my outside jacket off, and put my inside jacket on. So Swedish of me... 😆

    • @designstinamarshmallow9868

      I'm thinking, if you wear the outdoor jacket/coat inside, you are stopping the indoor heat from reaching your body.. 🤔 You will maybe warm up faster if your body has access to the warmth of the room. An extra sweater indoors lets the warm air flow through the sweater.., 🤔 When it's really cold out, I sometimes put a warm sweater or blanket in the dryer for a while to wear or wrap myself into. 😍🤩

    • @NichoandAdri
      @NichoandAdri  3 года назад +1

      That's so interesting that you have a separate jacket for inside haha and I don't usually put an actual jacket on but sometimes keep it on if I've been outside and then come inside and I'm still cold haha but I definitely have some sort of sweater or cardigan on inside almost always - Adri

    • @jsvensson8234

      @@NichoandAdri I think it's this subconscious idea that things worn outside, that come in direct contact with stuff (the ground, seats, doors a.s.o) are somehow "dirty" and thus shouldn't be brought inside (past the mud room). When I come home I always wash my hands, and put on "indoor clothes". I don't know how it got to be that way, it's just so engrained. I guess I would fit in perfectly in Japan, and stand out like a sore thumb in the US 😂 Go figure🤷‍♀️

      Indoor clothes vs outdoor clothes, Wool Sweaters are amazing clothes, or a wool blanket. Wool Socks, Wool indoor shoes... Americans may not really get it, but Swedish winters are so blisteringly cold, you might think I live in New York, it's -20 and the air moisture makes it feel like certain death. In Sweden, still imagine the exact same scene, it's -20 the air moisture makes it feel like certain death, and then there is the lovely thing called a light breeze, that slowly travels through your body, it doesn't matter if you're wearing 1 layer or 50 layers of clothes, you can go from warm to huh, this piece of ice feels really warm in an instant. And in certain parts of Sweden, mostly up north, it can be -20 and you can walk outside in shorts and a t-shirt and sandals, like it was still summer despite no visible sun...
      So indoor clothes to keep warm, especially in old houses that aren't super well insulated, I mean I live in a brick house and the wind just passes straight through it. Indoor clothes are a godsend.

    I think the reason for the difference in their relation to restaurant staff is due to the tipping culture. In Sweden we don’t have a tipping culture because the minimum wage for a waiter is much higher. As I understand it you can’t really make a liveable salary without receiving tips, and therefore there is much more added pressure while working. I think that is the reason we Swedes can have higher demands towards waiters!

    • @NichoandAdri
      @NichoandAdri  3 года назад

      Ya that's an interesting take and you're correct that the tips are what ensures they make a liveable salary which in my opinion is really unfortunate that the system is like that

    Jantelagen, or "the law of Jante" isn't an actual law but a novel that explains the egalitarian nature of the Nordic people's mentality. It basically says "don't think you're better than anyone else". If you really want to get on our bad side, all you have to do is brag about yourself in any way. Hubris and ego are very much frowned upon. In fact, it pisses us off.
    Here are the ten rules of the law of Jante:
    You're not to think you are anything special.
    You're not to think you are as good as we are.
    You're not to think you are smarter than we are.
    You're not to imagine yourself better than we are.
    You're not to think you know more than we do.
    You're not to think you are more important than we are.
    You're not to think you are good at anything.
    You're not to laugh at us.
    You're not to think anyone cares about you.
    You're not to think you can teach us anything.
    There is an additional 11th rule that concludes the law of Jante:
    Perhaps you don't think _we_ know a few things about _you?_

    There is atleast one point that you are very wrong about and that is music. Sweden is world best country if you check the statistis. Some of the best producers of music in the U.S is from Sweden. And the biggest influencers...
    And also the thing about changing the duve, if you do it yourself there is times of bonding and the joy of doing things together or yourself. One thing is about cleaning the house yourself is that you avois disasters specially in your own house, when you clean you get to se if the heater is dripping or if it is something wrong with an electric cable and then you can hire someone to take care of a bigger problem that could (unfixed) be a huge expencive problem.

SO ALL COUNTRY HAS ITS BEAUTY and it so many different of the landscape God provided us with for to be AMUSED by and feel his INCREDIBLE WORK and GENEROUSITY
